Redside... Best side? Right??
twozerofoxtrot replied to Dev Unitas's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
100% my case. I never cared about the game City of Heroes. I saw it was being advertised and talked about, but the whole premise bored me and I was too exited about another MMO coming out related to one of my favorite strategy game IPs. But I bought City of Villains as soon as I saw a copy at the store. -
Focused Feedback: Arsenal Assault

I ended up skipping on my test build at 50 but to be honest I can see people taking it to fish for FF procs. I do think it's a little underpowered but at least it animates quickly which is usually my main reason for skipping mose cones; they usually take 2.67 to animates for mid to unfavorable results regarding damage, area coverage, or proc opportunities. Ironically, Control Sets seem to have the best cones for denting HP bars on Doms, at least when you consider procs. -
Dark. Good coloring with greens can make it look like poison blasts. And Dark Blast is pretty nice on Supports. Alternatively, Water. Same rationale on theming but personally the hyrdromancy/water bending animations of the set make it B+ at best for style. Maybe A+ for effects though.

Jeezin' cripes, I hope you at least warned the neighborhood first!

Honestly Dr. Creed has you doing horrible things to humans at level 2 in Mercy. There's plenty of evil around if you look.

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control

It still feels a little too weak, but on a controller with limited damage options, it might serve better as a rotation filler now. The bump in Accuracy will allow for more damage slotting in the early level, when slot economy is tight. Woof. Really glad it's T3 now but the lowered recharge really took the bite out of this as a proc bomb. And the lack of pulse has been highlighted. Can't see myself taking it anymore, personally. The set still works fine without but it's a shame. Scarified on the altar of the balance gods.... ...So we can have something greater? Without Sleep Nade, this fills the gap nicely now. Haven't played with proc-slotting, but even with the higher recharge this still feels better than before. The increased radius covering a lot more surface area is a big improvement. Appreciate the feedback being considered here, a lot. -
Still not working... unless this should be "marginally less fade than totally invisible." It's definitely a different look than say, Blaster Device's Cloak No Fade option. Correction, false report above. I had a Stealth IO toggled on in my Sprint, which caused this behavior in the CC. This seems like a bug to me, so not deleting the entire post.

Does not seem to be WIA. I logged into my pre-existing Arse/Traps Controller (lvl 35, Rogue) and was able to TP to contact from the "Find Contact" window, "talk" to the payphone, select the mission, Mission Teleport (power) to it*, and then enter. I have not yet completed Buzzsaw's arc (*I actually detoured to Buzzsaw, picked up the arc, and then Teleported from there).

Focused Feedback: VEAT Updates

Has anyone done the testing on this to see how it stacks up among the other single target ranged/psi powers for Fortunatas? I'm not confident in my methods (bad at math, lack a good constant variable) to confirm for myself. But curious. IMO it still seems like if you want to go for a Ranged Fort build, Soul Patron Pool is still a must-pick for at least ST damage and with 2 of the options on the table being buffed, that's a shame. But again. I'm not confident in my tests. -
Bio Armor/Dark Melee Radiation Armor/Super Strength Willpower/Martial Arts Shield Defense/Energy Melee Shield Defense/Martial Arts Are my Top 5.

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control

A good question. I'll answer it and then then implied question. I didn't do the tutorials. I took Tranq Dart at level one on my Controller, which I tested first. This informed my opinion that it is a skip power, but it did give me *something* to damage characters with besides Brawl and my Origin Attack at level 1. Myself personally? Nothing beats the GTFO of Caltrops. At level 1 I'm not worried about much, but if I do get swarmed then Web Nade isn't going to do anything for me whereas Caltrops gives me some breathing room. -

This is how I've approached the set. It might not work for everyone. I've done this on an Arse/Traps controller (the two seem to jive well) and an Arse/Arse Dom (brutally fought a power selection civil war). Tranq Dart: Skip. Even while working it's too much of an edge case pick even with the 3.5 mag sleep. IMO this is the #1 candidate for a swap with wide-area web nade. Sleep Nade: Treated like Terrify and proc'd to high heaven. Reliable damage with unreliable control. Ice Beam: Single target proc bomb. Liquid Nitro: One slot wonder for recharge. These sorts of patches are autohit but with an 8% proc chance for the KD. Cloak: Great survivability tool and IO mule. Taken, slotted with Kismet and LotG bonus IOs, plus a some Shield Walls. Smoke Can: Either skip or one slot with Contagious Confusion at 49. It has it's uses but just doesn't do enough to earn it's place while leveling. Has an inherently high accuracy value. Flash Bang: Must take. Good power for set slotting. Energy Font synergies here. Tear Gas: 4 slot basilisk if taken. Gun Drone: The single tankiest pet in the game at 80% Res all. 4 slotted Expedient Reinforcement including the +Res bonus to get it to 90% Res all and some nice recharge for me. This pet carries the entire set by virtue of tanking stuff when everything falls apart. ------ Overall enjoyed the set but I'm sort of an unusual control set player, so I get why some people weigh its problems heavier than I did. -
Not sure if bug or feature, but if you're playing a relatively squishy character and are having trouble with the final fight, it's pretty easy to drag the two heroes to the Unnamed who will proceed to cryptstomp them. Then, when the witch is vulnerable you can drag her to the Unnamed as well. She'll beat it but you can swoop in while she's distracted and weakened and give her a good whallop without getting your endurance drained to the floor. Just make sure you hide behind the walls after doing your pulls.

Hah, yeah that did escape my recollection despite being the most common one. -

This is a fair point and I agree that a Wailer GM would be fun. Off the top of my head, I can think of only 3 GMs on Redside: Deathsurge, Caleb, and the Grandville Flyer. Two of those require pretty annoying hunts to spawn and two fly around for a bit before despawning, making them difficult to engage with. -
Interface for Dark Blast/Force Field Corruptor

Degenerative Radial for maximum effectiveness. Diamagnetic Core for maximum -ToHit meme (which gets slashed by the purple patch anyway). -
I've wanted these forever. So far they are working great both in sheathed and unsheathed versions. No bugs yet encountered. My only critical feedback is that it would be nice to have a version that allows color tinting, but I'm happy to have them on my Praetorian Resistance-themed Poison/DP Defender.

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control

It's already broken by your own pet. You could be running an Arse/Emp troller and you're still going to bounce your own sleep by level 26. -
The 'it' in the dialog is referring to spirit, Velho. Look for the fetters (which bind your target, metaphor; fetters are chains for detaining or binding a prisoner), and destroy it (Velho). Now, I think there's an argument for the employment of the verbiage 'fetters' here, as the Shadow Crystal is not imprisioning, but rather anchoring Velho. Or, just re-write the entire clause. It's obviously caused some confusion one way or another.

Focused Feedback: Various Power Updates
twozerofoxtrot replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I believe the new TK is WIA. I do have assume intent here, a little bit though. My assumption is that this power now serves a function similar to Wormhole, Axe Cyclone and Fold Space in gathering disparate enemies together that might have been mezzed or scattered apart, onto the single focal point for Team AOE damage. Other than that, it's a lot of fun dragging enemies 500 feet in the air and then letting them fall. Agreed with the general sentiment on the recharge. I am unsure what the internal calculus for power resource cost balancing is, but TK is flat-out expensive in endurance and recharge in comparison to power that have similar utility functions. -
Advanced difficulty (general settings?)

It's a series of challenging missions created a while back by @Linea. They all start "801" but have different suffixes based on the challenge. If you seach by Linea's name or just 801 you'll see them. Hopefully by pinging the creator they'll drop in and offer a more detailed explanation.
