Agreed. Not really. Sure Ad Populum is a fallacy when you're talking about facts, like whether the Earth is flat or not, but when you're asking about social situations, which is what this is, then the opinion of the super majority is usually the correct one. I understand that you're just venting about a situation that seemed aggravating and perhaps even unfair to you but, like it or not, the team leader is the absolute tyrant of a team. The original developers built the kick button for a reason and the current developers have left the kick button in for a reason. Bottom line: you were aggravating and inconveniencing the other players on the team and the leader took action that was appropriate at the time to solve the problem. In the future I recommend informing people before the TF starts that you use Group Fly. That would be the civil, and grown up, thing to do.

Powerset feedback: Angel Summoning
PeregrineFalcon replied to Wingslord24's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Very nice. I like it! You see, contrary to what's been claimed, people on this forum don't automatically disagree with every suggestion that's made. We just don't agree with the ones that we don't like. -

The Paradox of the Well of the Furies
PeregrineFalcon replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
As in scrub all actual in game references to it? Yeah, probably. However, head canon is a wonderful thing. What would you replace it with if you had the ability to do so? -
I knew it! Luminara is actually KingCedd.

But Flea, my last name is Webster! Doesn't that mean that I'm allowed to make up new words?!? In all seriousness, making up new words, and changing the centuries old meanings of already established words, has been all the rage the last 20 or so years. I don't understand why the participation trophy generations think that they can just make up new words and then get upset when the rest of the world doesn't automagically understand and use those words. Oh and @Wingslord24, don't you think you've spend enough time and effort hijacking Solok's thread? If you really want to make your own powerset suggestion then why do you start your own thread and make your own suggestion?

Given the forum feedback I've read about Regen over the years I suspect a lot of folks would be happier if Instant Healing were a toggle again. However, I don't think that the devs really want to just switch it without changing the amount of regen it grants because it would be too powerful. I didn't know that HoTs were a thing in CoH. Isn't that just basically just want +Regen is? Also, making it a HoT would mean the name wouldn't really be descriptive of what the power actually does. By having it just instantly heal 25% of each hit that was taken it lives up to its name without being affected by regen debuffs. My understanding is that lack of regen debuff resist is one of the many problems with Regen.

Patch Notes for July 30th, 2024
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
As a tank main I hate the fact that I cannot block a doorway and force the enemies to deal with me before they can get to anyone else. It's a viable strategy and in most MMOs, and now in the Labyrinth, it doesn't work. I hate it when video games punish me for making good tactical decisions. Don't get me started. -
A modification that I'd like to suggest is that, instead of a new powerset, the devs should add a couple of new combat auras. For those that don't know there are auras, in the custom designer, that will allow some auras to only turn on if the character is in combat stance. Also, "only from the eyes" and "only from the hands" are options as well. So, if the devs made several Arcane Combat Auras, like a wand in the hand that has sparkles or magic coming out of it, or runes that float near the hands or in front of the character, or other options I'm sure you all can think of, this will allow any AT and powerset to be "Arcane." Would you be ok with something like this @Wingslord24 or @Solok ?

electric armor Electric Armor, what could be done?
PeregrineFalcon replied to boss's topic in Stalker
And honestly, given their record of adding a gimmick or weird combo to every set they've touched, do we really want them to start working on the armor sets? I don't know about you but I'm really not interested in playing wack-a-mole with the yellow ring just get Regen or EA to provide reasonable protection. -
And of course the mods can see the IP address that the post was made from. But you already knew that, don't you, Arcane?

electric armor Electric Armor, what could be done?
PeregrineFalcon replied to boss's topic in Stalker
I think the solution would be to change Power Surge (Electric Armor's tier 9) to something like Willpower's Strength of Will. A click defense with no crash that's immune to recharge buffs. Only instead of the +Res of SoW, I'd give Power Surge a lot of +Defense (All) and +DDR. The defense would work with the resistance from the rest of the set to really make it nearly unkillable while it was up. This would make Power Surge worth taking (it really isn't right now) and also give Elec high defense when it's needed. -

Stone Armor is the absolute toughest of all of the defensive sets. My argument is that the numbers are the highest. Fire melee is the highest damage output, but you're right, no control. If you want to control go with War Mace or Ice Melee. Energy Melee has a lot of stuns, if you're ok with it having no real AoE.

A lot of people attacked him when that video came out. Time has shown that he was right and that everyone who attacked him was wrong. So yeah, there's a little bit of "Ha, ha. I was right!" in that video. People's natural tendency to want to do that is exacerbated by internet peoples' inability to ever admit that they were wrong. Sorry. I'm not sure what you thought a 1 year anniversary video about himself would be about.

Today is the one year anniversary of his famous rant about Starfield, and here is his video about said one year anniversary.

Incnetive for folks to start TFs or SFs
PeregrineFalcon replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Oh shit, really? Wow. It's almost like I was right when I said that there's already systems in place in the game to reward people for leading TFs/SFs. It's ok though. I don't expect anyone to ever admit that I was right about this, or anything else for that matter. I understand that that's not how the internet works. -
Yep. And these are the same people who think that they are morally superior to everyone else, while also calling people the entire list of -ists and -phobes for the crime of simply NOT watching a movie or TV show or video game that they like. Oh, and don't forget all of the fake death threats that they get caught writing themselves in an attempt to frame us as horrible people. And this is why, in answer to a question that someone asked earlier in this thread, I keep posting this much about a show that I don't watch. Because I want everyone to see who the real life villains actually are.

Don't you get Reward Merits as a reward for completing a TF/SF? -
Hopefully this will be my last post about The Acolyte. So a bunch of fans of The Acolyte contacted YouTube and tried to get a couple of YouTubers demonitized and/or kicked off of YouTube because they didn't like that these YouTubers had been saying bad things about The Acolyte. They seemed to blame these content creators for The Acolyte's cancellation.

Incnetive for folks to start TFs or SFs
PeregrineFalcon replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If you do not lead SF/TFs then you have to join them whenever you can, if they're even happening at all, which they often are not. If you lead SF/TSs then you get to get the rewards whenever you want, as often as you want. Now this may sound like I'm just being a smartass, but I'm really not. If you lead TF/SFs regularly you'll get the rewards far more often than someone who doesn't, and you'll get them at a time that best works for your schedule. -

You think a mere eight years online wasn't long enough?

While I hadn't heard of Concord until a month or two ago, and it launched less than two weeks ago, it was clear from the chatter that many others already knew about it. I suppose it's possible that the youngsters are talking about these things in places that older people, such as myself, don't frequent. I suspect that someone at Sony looked at Concord, realized that it wasn't going to do well, and deliberately decided to save money by not advertising it. If that's the case then they obviously made the right call.
