LBD's Moderate Mastermind Makeover
PeregrineFalcon replied to Little Big Demon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They need buffs in Relentless? Isn't that the entire point behind Relentless? To see if you can survive? Giving any AT a buff at certain difficulty levels literally defeats the entire purpose of that difficulty level. Once again, try playing an MM with the Force Field or Sonic secondaries. Those secondaries make MM henchmen much tougher. But no, you all want to take the more offensive secondaries but you still want your henchmen to be tough. The buff that you want for MMs will make FF & Sonic completely worthless. Why do you want to completely invalidate those powersets?- 36 replies

LBD's Moderate Mastermind Makeover
PeregrineFalcon replied to Little Big Demon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I've got multiple level 50 MMs. I had multiple level 50 MMs on the retail servers. I feel the need to mention this because if I don't someone will respond and claim that I don't know anything about MMs, or that I hate them, or something else equally ridiculous. You clearly put a lot of thought and effort into your post and I like your post even though I disagree with most of it. I do agree with Recall command, Group travel powers and stealth, and a level shift for the pets. I see those as really more QoL improvements rather than straight up buffs. I do not believe that Hard Mode, or Challenge Mode, or whatever it's being called now days, is justification to buff any class or class pets. Same with Incarnate Trials. These specific bits of content are supposed to be really difficult, they're difficult for other ATs and they should be difficult for MMs as well. EDIT: Also, I've see a TON of suggestions this year about making MM pets tougher. The problem that I have with this is that if the devs do this it makes Force Fields and Sonic secondaries worthless. The entire point behind those secondaries is to make the pets much tougher at the expense of the offensive powers that are in other secondaries. Bottom line: if you want your pets to be tougher take /FF or /Sonic. .- 36 replies

Patch Notes for July 23rd, 2024 - Issue 28, Page 1
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Wait! You're not saying the developers ignored your feedback are you? How dare you! -
Wherein Ryan George describes the plot of the show and uses satire to show why some of us think certain parts didn't make sense. Regardless of how you feel about the Acolyte you should watch this video. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience.
-
Very true. I really enjoyed Wanda Vision, but the first two episodes definitely aren't the best. Kinda like the first two seasons of ST:TNG.
-
Oh? And just which type of person would that be?

-
I think the bigger question is: why were they drug testing sharks? Employment screening?

You're close, but you just missed the mark. In the past posts with negative feedback often disappeared, and warning points acquired. Also, fellow players would attack and insult people who posted negative feedback, but when we returned said insults in kind our posts alone disappeared and more warning points were acquired while those that had blatantly attacked and insulted us got nothing. But the absolute worst part of all of this is the blatant gaslighting. The continued insistence that none of this happened and that I should just go ahead and post my feedback so that "my voice will be heard."
-
I haven't done any testing this time around. Because of that I also haven't posted in the feedback threads. I have been reading them though and I have to say that they do seem really calm in comparison to the last couple of rounds of testing and feedback threads. It seems like everyone's missed my point though, and that has really surprised me.

Loaded or not the person that I was replying to claimed that all naysayers are trolls with a sense of entitlement, a claim that I dispute. I grasp the concept of objectivity quite well, as in I can disagree with a particular change but still be grateful that the devs maintain and work on Homecoming. If the devs add a change that's on the beta server, and they start a thread asking for feedback, and my feedback is "I've tested this and I don't like it for this reason and I don't think it should go live. Nay, nay I say!" Now I'm a naysayer and that means, according to this person and many others in the past, that I'm a troll with a sense of entitlement. So on top of the discouragement of feeling like testing is a waste of time due to the appearance of the devs not really listening to feedback unless it comes from certain people (something that I admit is emotional, subjective, and possibly quite wrong, but a feeling nonetheless), we also have to put up with players who call us trolls with a sense of entitlement simply because we disagree with something that's on the test server. Since my last question wasn't acceptable because of how "loaded" it was how about this one: What's my motivation to test when I'm just going to be called a troll with a sense of entitlement if I don't agree with and celebrate every change the devs make?
-
Believe it or not I can be against a particular change or addition and still be grateful for everything that the developers have done to keep Homecoming alive and improving. This isn't a rhetorical question I'd really like an answer: What's the point behind the developers starting feedback threads if the only feedback we're allowed to give is that we love every change and we agree with everything the devs say and do?

A non-police Trainer NPC in King's Row
PeregrineFalcon replied to mechahamham's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If your character dislikes cops that much then why is he fighting bad guys in Kings Row? If you dislike cops that much then why are you trying to inject your real world beliefs into the fictional Paragon City universe? -
Recoloring a powerset to use it for something else creative and great! I just have an issue with allowing people to completely remove the theme from a powerset. If you use the Stone powerset you should expect to see some Stone. If you use an Ice powerset expect to see some Ice. If you don't like either of those then recolor them or play Willpower or Invuln. I especially take issue with people wanting to remove the FX from the Sorcery Origin Pool. The entire point behind the Origin Pools is to have powers with FX representative of that particular origin. And I think that most of the people who want to have a no-FX version of Sorcery really just want to have a no-FX version of Rune of Protection.
-
And remember folks, powersets aren't allowed to have a theme. You can be stone without looking like stone. Fire without being covered in fire. Bio without looking like a pile of poo. Yep, we have to have a non-FX version of all of those sets because powersets aren't allowed to have a theme. People want to min-max to the sky without any downsides whatsoever. So when will I be allowed to use Aid Other without that silly tricorder? That should be first on the list before making the SORCERY POOL look like something that doesn't have to do with sorcery. .
-
No, it would not be. There was a term for it, enlightened. Woke is not what you described and you know it. I won't go into more details due to previous moderator warnings on this subject. Also, the Acolyte's biggest problem isn't that it's woke, it's that the writing is garbage (fire in airless space), the acting is garbage & the star has the emotional range of a cantaloupe, the plot makes no sense, and they keep ignoring canon. Throwing the woke message on top of that doesn't help though. The Star Wars fans are pretty much done with that too.

You're right about parody versions, but not about knock-offs. The way copyright and trademark laws are written the person/corporation with the copyright/trademark almost has to sue regardless of whether there's any money in it for them or not. Copyright/trademark laws require the owner to defend their IP or it's considered released and public domain. So if DC doesn't sue Homecoming after they see a ton of YouTube videos featuring Superman in Paragon City (just as an example) then when Marvel starts making Superman comics and DC sues to stop them, Marvel can claim that Superman is now public domain because they refused to defend their IP by suing Homecoming for aforementioned Superman videos. By having a strong policy in place, and active moderation that provably works to stop IP theft in the form of knock-off characters, Homecoming is protecting itself from these lawsuits. So yes, every time someone makes an obvious IP rip-off character they are actively endangering Homecoming.
-
If you're referring to the person who made the video I posted, it's because reviewing shows and movies is his job, he gets money for every video he posts. If you're referring to me, I don't watch it. One episode was enough for me. And according to some of the posts in this thread, some people do like this show. And that's ok. Unlike some people I don't call people -ists and -phobes just because they don't like a movie or TV show that I like.

The poorly written story just keeps getting worse.
