Discussion: Improvements to the Warriors
PeregrineFalcon replied to Piecemeal's topic in Developer's Corner
Why? And before you say that it's bad/wrong/whatever I'd like to point out two things: 1) The Warriors are a villain group, villains do bad things. 2) The Warriors have modeled themselves on warriors from history and historically only men were warriors. -
Ok, I guess it's time we have this discussion again. Homecoming's servers are in the U.S. In the U.S. gambling is mostly illegal. There are certain exceptions and licenses that are available in certain places, and for specific entities. And yes, these laws apply to online gambling as well. This means that it's highly likely that Homecoming wouldn't be able to secure a license and, if they did, it would be so expensive that Homecoming also certain couldn't afford it. And because the last time we had this discussion people refused to believe me when I said that gambling is mostly illegal in the U.S. Here's proof: Former Police Chief Willie Lovett spent 7.5 years in Federal prison for being involved in gambling without a license.

Willpower is my go to powerset for Scrappers. It's basically "We fixed Regen and then gave it a different name so that people wouldn't light the forms on fire when we burnt down 9 cottages." Try it. It works really well.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a Fire/Fire/Fire Blaster that's nearly at the ranged def cap. It's really hard to play other Blasters now. They just seem soooo sloooow. Also, I need to figure out a new build and log in and respec out of Bonfire.

Some things "I" think would be cool additions
PeregrineFalcon replied to Drow2100's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
By the way, @Drow2100 I wanted to ask again about your Speedster concept because it seems interesting. My speedster on Homecoming is an MA/SR Scrapper with Super Speed. How would your suggested speedster be different than that? -
Mayhem missions are literally the reason that I bought City of Villains, and later City of Heroes. They're the most fun missions in the game. I don't understand why people would skip them. And are people really that scared to fight Malta? 🤪 That's ridiculous. They're nothing without their Sappers, and those guys die in like 2 seconds. Everyone talks about how their characters are at the def cap, well the Sapper drain isn't auto-hit. Hopefully the devs will strengthen Malta Operatives like they strengthened CoT and Council.

Well, that's one. I'll check in next year and we'll see if the keybind system changes have been reverted. -
Page 7 Keybind System Changes — Technical Discussion
PeregrineFalcon replied to Shenanigunner's topic in General Discussion
Basically the OP doesn't just say "it wasn't broke so why did you fix it", it's also a bunch of "what you did is a huge nerf for people who like to make custom keybinds." Is that too long to read? Good luck on your quest to get the devs to revert this "feature." However, I hope you're prepared for them to never even discuss it, much less revert it. I'm not just trying to be negative, I'm just going off of past behavior. Can you name one feature that went to the Homecoming live servers that was then reverted based on player feedback? -
Yep, defenders can still kick butt, but as a team
PeregrineFalcon replied to Diantane's topic in Defender
Diantane, I absolutely love it when you tell us stuff we've known for over a decade as if you were teaching us something new. BTW, that describes everything you've ever posted on this forum that wasn't just flat out wrong. -
Some things "I" think would be cool additions
PeregrineFalcon replied to Drow2100's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As I said earlier @Drow2100, some people just like to argue. Don't take it personally, it's not an attack on you. It's more like when little boys are mean to little girls. They do it because it's the only way they know to show that they like them. -

PeregrineFalcon replied to Drow2100's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Welcome to the forums, citizen. Yes, you are absolutely correct. For many of us the only reason we're on the forums is that we like to argue about stuff. Don't take it personally. No one's attacking you. We just like to argue about stuff. Now that that's out of the way, I do like some of your ideas. The speedster idea is interesting. My speedster on Homecoming is an MA/SR Scrapper with Super Speed. How would your suggested speedster be different than that? -
You always say that.

Oh nice. Now I know who to send my suggested list of changes to. BTW, will you be increasing the level of the mobs in that zone and/or adding any incarnate content?

I think something that a lot of roleplayers forget is that neither heroes nor villains can be that jaded. Being jaded is really lack of caring because of long experience with something. Heroes care, because if they didn't they wouldn't be heroes. It's not like they have a job and are risking their lives for a paycheck. Heroes do what they do because they care. And villains care as well, about their own ego if nothing else. If they didn't they'd just stay home and do nothing as well. One of the hallmarks of being jaded is the lack of desire to put forth any effort, so if a character is really that jaded then why are they a hero or villain? Why aren't they off doing something that they do care about? Or taking a nap? And yes, as the OP mentions, people who are interested in things, who care, don't like interacting with people who are jaded. There's only so many times that you can wonder about something only to get a firm "meh" from the jaded one before you either become discouraged or decide to just stop talking to the jaded one.

PSA: WARNING, DO NOT SAVE KEYBINDS. EVER.
PeregrineFalcon replied to BlackSpectre's topic in General Discussion
I actually have 2 keybind files that I load with all new characters. First is for the basic keybinds I use on all characters. Second is for the travel power. There's actually several different versions of the second depending on which travel power and which version of sprint that character is using. I don't save the binds to the default file though, I have a named file that I load. Is this going to be a problem going forward with this new "system"? -
Add a vendor with "Training" origin enhancements
PeregrineFalcon replied to gabrilend's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The only real problem that I see is once your character gets past level 33. Sure you'll be able to keep upgrading your enhancements, but you get a lot of slots after level 33 and you won't be able to slot new enhancements in order to upgrade them. So unless you buy high level TOs from Wentworths you won't be able to fill those slots. -

I just realized that I got the OP mixed up with another poster who frequently trolls the forums. My mistake. -

PeregrineFalcon replied to temnix's topic in General Discussion
Wow. There's just nothing that I can say in response that won't get me insta-perma-banned, except "Good Luck. I hope everything works out for you." -
Gawd I hate procs. I am so sick of the fact that absolutely no conversation can be had about damage without someone chiming in "HeRe's wHY yoU NeEd tO PrOC ouT yoUR ENtiRe bUIld." I'm really going to enjoy it when the Homecoming devs finally nerf the carp outta procs so that damage discussions can focus on damage and not "Proc proc proc proc, PROOC!!" Not trying to pick on you Hjarki. It's not you, it's the game mechanics.

If you want a character whose blasts do a lot of damage then maybe you should... and I know this might sound strange, but bear with me here... make a Blaster. As a Defender, just as with any character, your primary job is to use your primary powerset. A Defender's primary powerset isn't blasts. Complaining that your Defender doesn't do as much damage as your Blaster is like complaining that your truck doesn't go as fast as your racecar.
