  1. Maybe you should... and I know this might sound strange, but bear with me here... go talk with Admissions Officer Lenk?
  2. It would sure be helpful if there were a tool tip or something in game that explained the various versions (Classic, Modern, Extra Crispy, Etc.) and how they differ from one another. At this point I have no idea which set of keybinds to use for a new character.
  3. Well that and the fact that many CoH players are, according to their own posts, absolutely terrified of the very thought of using VOIP to coordinate while gaming.
  4. That's literally what I meant by a "wands combat aura." Some of the combat auras can be set to radiate only around the hands and only while in combat. So a "wands combat aura" would show a wand in the character's hand, but only when they're in combat stance.
  5. Yeah, if it doesn't take the developers too much time, I'd like to see new stats too. Maybe even just a data dump and let one of us clean it up and put it into nice tables so that a developer doesn't have to waste their time doing that part of it.
  6. Hard disagree. I'm sorry that Hard Mode min/maxers won't allow you to join on your Mastermind (I love my Masterminds myself so I understand), but there are plenty of people who do play and enjoy them. Removing them from the game would be far more work than just leaving them in for those people who do enjoy playing them. Sorry, I'll always be against removing content from the game.
  7. Since you're psychic now can you please tell me what next weeks lottery numbers will be? I mean you are psychic right? That's how you know that I don't care, right? I mean, you wouldn't just make shit up, so you must be psychic. Because simply adding in "holding wand" and "magic runes in air" combat auras is far less work, far more likely to be within the capabilities of this development team, and allows magic origin "spell casters" to be anything from an Empathy Defender to a Fire Blaster simply by picking one of those auras.
  8. Yeah, what are the odds that this small developer team can rent an animation studio, do some motion capture, and use that to create your dozens of new animations magical effects and all?
  9. I think everyone would be far better off if the developers were just able to add wand and "magic runes in the air" combat auras. That way people who want their Energy Blast to be magical can choose either of those combat auras and it looks like they're "spell casting" their attacks. Problem solved without the devs having to overhaul (and possibly adding more unwanted combo systems to) every blast set. .
  10. I light vampires, and other dangerous creatures, on fire. If you want to arrest what's left behind feel free, but I doubt that even the PPD are going to put a pile of ashes into a jail cell.
  11. I'm not sure what you mean by signature character. My namesake, Peregrine Falcon, has gone through several iterations. Currently he's a Fire/Energy Sentinel, a tech-suit, Iron Man type of vigilante. However, my main since 2007 is American Dream Girl, one of the Nuclear 90. She's always been an Invul/Em Tanker. So I guess those are my two signature characters.
  12. The only thing about this that bothers me is the we've been asking the developers to update this information for years. No response. Then they talk with MOP and just hand it right over. But they couldn't have taken 2 minutes to drop that same info into a forum post? ☹️
  13. I would love to see attacks give a stacking damage resistance to their type for say 10 seconds or so, similar to Defiance's stacking damage buff. For example: every attack with energy blast would grant 10% energy damage resistance for 10 seconds. So if any AT does a bunch of energy blasts they would very quickly build up a high damage resistance to their preferred damage type for a short time. It's never made any sense to me that a fire Blaster, or fire Tanker for that matter, would be vulnerable to their own damage type.
  14. I'm Peregrine Falcon, and I approve this message.
  15. You've made a homage to @Snarky!!!
  16. I understand what you're saying, and I agree that the math shows it's an actual improvement in all but a few edge cases. However, you've also removed the only source of non-combat XP in the game and replaced it with something that gives no reward. Sure, it means I'll level faster, unless I'm already running an XP booster. Also, what's normal gameplay? I'm not trying to argue semantics here, it's a serious question. If I log in one day and decide to get a bunch of exploration badges for the teleporter, or because I'm a badge hunter, or because I just like exploring the zones, then how is that not normal gameplay? Essentially the developers have said that "combat is the only normal gameplay" and this change enforces that by removing the only source of non-combat XP.
  17. The Homecoming developers have already said that they intend to make small changes and improvements to the game in keeping with what they believe the original developers could have or should have done. Or words to that effect. That being said, it seems highly unlikely that they're going to substantially change the paradigm just to keep up with the current way of game play.
  18. I am aware. In the past I've suggested that TOs be repurposed to be level-less SOs that only work for characters below level 22, much like those special enhancements the START vendor gives out. I still believe that would be the better solution to this problem. It's in no way difficult. This is just an excuse and a poor one at that. There's a link to the Homecoming Wiki at the top of this website. And, regardless of whether people want to post on this forum or not, they know that it exists and that it's a source of information. "We should lower the price of SOs because people can't find the wiki and are too scared to read the forums for info" is a ridiculous argument, and you know it. This game doesn't have much in the way of challenge, but removing all challenge kills both community and interest. Having to struggle a bit to be able to afford SOs is a good thing. It's basic human psychology.
  19. Here we go! So first of all TOs do still exist in game. They just don't drop from enemies but you can purchase them from vendors in supergroup bases. Secondly, the very first character in an MMO struggling because the player doesn't have any money and/or resources, and doesn't yet know how to get them, happens in every MMO. Or at least every MMO that I've ever played. Players know that this will be the case, they will expect it and, if they were smart enough to find City of Heroes and download it, they're smart enough to deal with it. Third, "enhancements aren't explained anywhere in game!!" Neither is Enhancement Diversification or The Rule of Five. Nothing is really explained in game. But, every player knows that this forum exists and they also know that Google exists. We're well past the point where people online can complain "I can't figure out what's going on. Oh, if only there was a source of info about this game." Every person online knows that if they don't know how to handle something in a game they can google it, check the forums, or... *gasp* actually ask a live person a question in game. If someone can't find out info about a 20 year old video game then they're just making excuses. So, no. The developers don't need to reduce the prices of SOs. The economy is this game is already garbage to begin with. People in this game have billions and nothing to spend it on and reducing the price of SOs won't actually help anyone.
  20. My boys are too young to have played on the retail servers, beyond occasionally taking one of my characters and flying around. Both of them do have Homecoming accounts. We even play CoH together occasionally.
  21. I should have made it clear that I was speaking in general not about you specifically. In fact I was actually agreeing with you. A lot of people on the forums who complain about PuGs fail to even consider the possibility that they are the problem. Like you, I've read a ton of threads over the years complaining about how people act in PuGs and the thread generally devolves into "people on the forums are awesome, everyone else is garbage." Needless to say I don't agree with that point of view.
  22. My main is a tank and I spent years leading PuGs on Freedom and Virtue and then on Torchbearer. In all of those years leading PuGs I had maybe a handful of bad experiences. So maybe, just maybe, if you're having a lot of problems with PuGs the problem is you. Nah, that can't be it. We're all perfect. It's those other people who aren't on the forums who are the problem, right?
  23. I know that you're not the only one who feels this way, but I don't know why. Could you please explain why?
  24. For me it will always be: Supreme Headquarters International Espionage Law-enforcement Division.
