  1. Let's go punch some vampires! Oh, hi @Snarky. Let's go fist-bump some vampires and accidentally strike them in the faces repeatedly!
  2. 8 seconds base duration. 7.2 versus +1 foes, 6.4 versus +2 foes, 5.2 versus +3 foes, 4.48 versus +4 foes. Brief. You claimed that a single graphical effect is commandeering the whole identity of your character. That's akin to accusing teammates of appropriating your character if they buff you, or stand near you with a buff toggle active. That's not an opinion, it's a melodramatic exaggeration. You assert that 8 seconds is too long because it lasts "the entire fight", and expound on the utility of Hold procs for dealing with bosses, the implication being that your controller is blitzing through spawns with bosses in 4.48-8 seconds (or less) and the proc's graphics are unceasing due to the insanely short duration of combat. That's not an opinion, it's not even hyperbole, it's utter bullshit. You say that the lore is irrelevant, you're more important than it is. That is certainly an opinion. It's also conceited and arrogant, presumptive of the notion that your whims are of such profound significance that not only should the game bend to your will, but everyone playing it, as well. Nobody here is opposed to more options. But your reasoning is specious, your replies suggest that you're narrow-minded, pretentious, stubborn and disingenuous, and when you didn't receive the universal acclaim you wanted, you threw yourself on the ground and started drawing a chalk outline. Yeah, the issue does seem to be you. Don't forget your chalk.
  3. If a couple of brief graphical effects define your entire character, the problem isn't the procs, it's you.
  4. Stop showing off your collection, Daytrucker.
  5. Silence of the Lambs.
  6. I don't have cones on any of my sentinels. If I'm not in the middle of a spawn, I'm on my way there (lately, using Spring Attack, which is turning out to be really nice for sentinels (melee_damage modifier, so second only to scrappers, and it procs like it was designed solely for the purpose of proccing)).
  7. A tube steak hanging off of a dude's midriff is just going to look like a homicide victim who hasn't collapsed yet. Or like a muppet performed genital reconstruction surgery (and forgot about the yam bag).
  8. Probably because there's nothing to texture downstairs. No polygons. All you could possibly do is the Buffalo Bill.
  9. Arctic Breath is 59.2197. Static Discharge is 58.602.
  10. Actually, we're waiting for precisely that. Mmm... muktuk... *drools*
  11. When last we left our intrepid investigators, evidence of a heinous crime had been unearthed. Witnesses were questioned, clues followed, and the facts began to surface, and we hoped the identity of the perpetrator of the pernicious perfidy was pending. Who threatened harm to the hallowed halls of our home? How and when were these salacious skins sequestered in the sanctity of a simple file mod? Will the villain be victorious, or will our team of talented truth-finders unveil him? *the audience scoots forward in their seats, giddy with anticipation* Tune in next time to find out on... Paragon Vice. *several actors mug for the camera as cheesy guitar riffs wail in the background* *the screen fades out and a Hero-O's commercial cuts in*
  12. I have one of those. Psi/Ninjitsu/Mako.
  13. Mine is always in the gutter. I embrace my perversity.
  14. I misread that as "taken down a crotch" when I was skimming the thread. Apropos.
  15. Third, remember to attach a low level common IO, preferably something like Threat Duration or Fear. YOMO LOVES THOSE! 😁
  16. Tell your friend that it's a waste of time. I looked into it a few years ago, the textures are low quality and very poorly done. It's less erotic than a concrete stress test analysis.
  17. That was never integrated into Vidiotmaps. Neither the version @Blondeshell maintained nor the one @AboveTheChemist is currently maintaining. I installed @Blondeshell's five minutes after I finished installing the game, and switched to @AboveTheChemist's when he picked it up. I installed both manually and updated them manually and the nude mod was never there. I don't use the mod installer tools, never have, so I can't say whether something else automatically installed that mod when you were installing something else via one of those tools. But I can say that I know for a fact that Vidiotmaps was never compromised. Eden is one of the tops I check when I'm creating or adjusting a costume, so I would've seen it within hours of installation. I've been keeping my copy of Vidiotmaps up to date with every release since June 2020, not once did I see boobies.
  18. IRS auditor, director of the NSA, flat-Earther, Harvey Weinstein, human trafficker, one of those weird people who never stops talking about his flashlight collection...
  19. As I've said many times over the last few years, hyperinflation was NOT an intentional control of IO availability. That was a consequence of poor planning and lack of foresight, not a deliberate action, nor was it leveraged as a control. It was a bad situation that couldn't be fixed with any solution short of a reboot (which is exactly what other MMORPGs do every time they release new content with new gear and a new currency. they're rebooting the economy), and Paragon was too entrenched in the "make minute changes, observe, pray the problem goes away" approach to development. The Invention system was intended to be used by everyone. Not solely by the wealthy elite. Not solely by the monumentally lucky. Everyone. The game we play now is the game we should have been playing 15 years ago, but Cryptic fucked up and Paragon was too timid to fix the problem. That said, HC did increase drop rates and reduce merit costs when they spun up the first server, so it is even easier for players to acquire IOs than it would be if we were only dealing with a lack of hyperinflation. But those changes were necessary because HC catering to a MUCH smaller audience than Cryptic or Paragon, ~2-2.5% of the original player base. If drop rates and merit costs had been left as they were originally, there would've been a repeat of the economic failure we lived with back in the day. Fewer IOs available would've encouraged higher bids. Higher bids would've led to bidding wars. Bidding wars would've kept prices high. High prices would've caused hoarding. Hoarding would've resulted in fewer IOs available. An endless process which would've created the same spiraling hyperinflated economic conditions we lived through before, especially with HC not taking any actions to prevent farming. The way things are set up now, everyone's a "have", no-one's a "have not", and that's a damn good thing. It's always better to have too much of a damn good thing than not enough of anything. On a personal note, I'm really not desperate to experience being limited by lack of funds in my pretendy fun time game. I get enough of that in reality, since my income places me so far below the poverty line that even if it doubled, I'd still be below the poverty line. I'm comfortable being poor in real life because my consumption is low enough to keep me well within my income, but I rather enjoy not having to struggle, scrounge, scrape, scrimp and save pennies in Co*. Or having to budget inf*. I have five budgets already (time i can spend working for other people; firewood i can burn in a day; water i can use in a day; electricity i can use between sunset and 10 a.m.; cashy money), I don't need another.
  20. Enhancements aren't our powers, though. Historically, enhancements were something from a non-PC source. A Science character with a Neodymium Exposure slotted didn't create neodymium. A Magic character using Grace of Joule is somehow channeling an aspect of Joule or using a spell to imbue him/herself with some of Joule's power. You can go through the entire list of DOs and SOs in the game and see that they were clearly intended to represent a third-party source of power. This extends to IOs just as well. Some IO sets are named for specific NPCs. Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control. Numina's Convalescence. Touch of Lady Grey. Other sets imply that they're sourced from someone or something specific, such as Winter sets. And even though most IO sets are more generic in description, they're still beholden to the legacy of what enhancements have been established to represent. They're not our powers, they're what we add to our powers. Having fixed graphical effects is appropriate for that.
  21. Most of the weight in a CRT monitor is due to the glass, and the majority of that is in the front half.
  22. Sleeps are interrupted by any damage, healing or change in position (KB/KD/KU). KU isn't, which makes Levitate a stronger control than Mesmerize.
