Athletic/Beast/Ninja Run and jump packs all free and available at level 1, jet packs and hover board/void skiff/magic carpet purchasable and usable at level 1, movement speed no longer level-dependent... you know, I honestly wouldn't even blink if they restored the old level 14 requirement on travel powers at this point.
  6. And how much work is invested by the level 1 character who stands 100' away while the level 50+ character blitzes those Rikti monkeys? What effort is expended by the level 1 character standing in the door of Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins' arcs while a maxed out character knocks out Dimensional Warder? In what way is that level 1 character "working" toward the Unveiler badge when that character is just watching the 50+ two-shot -1 lieutenant Fake Nemeses? As I said, the level restriction is there for a reason. If level 1 characters are allowed to unlock and use accolade bonuses, then content has to be designed with the expectation that those accolade bonuses are unlocked and in use, placing an unreasonable burden of acquisition on players. A new player doesn't even know what an accolade is, much less how to obtain one or why they'd matter, but because the content was designed to require accolades, he/she would be unfairly penalized, denied access to some content which should have been made accessible, and possibly belittled and ostracized by "smarter" players for... being new. If the content isn't designed to account for the accolades, it's too easy for those who have them. The bitching and moaning about how easy everything is... well, look at what some of the forumites are saying these days. Power creep is a real problem for some people, it leads to ennui and dissatisfaction, and they have no qualms about voicing it on the forums. They have all of the best IO sets, full Incarnates, mountains of inf* and merits and +1 level inspirations, and they're not challenged by anything. Imagine, for a moment, if that were true at level 1, rather than at level 50+3. That design conundrum is why the restrictions were implemented. And why they won't be removed. There have to be some limitations, for the overall good of the game. This is one.
  7. The bug is the info panel, not the power. Cross Punch's +Recharge is 5% if Boxing or Kick is taken, 10% if both are taken. The way the buff is set up causes the info panel to freak out, as the panel was designed back in... Issue 11, I think, and it doesn't have the capability to properly collate and display the correct info. That 100% Strength stat is the base multiplier for the modifiers applied by Boxing and Kick (those modifiers being 0.05), with none of the accompanying math performed (100 * 0.05 = 5). Note the similar display issues in the damage and ToHit, both of which simply show "Special". Same thing.
  8. Yes. To provide some measure of parity by removing a potential difference of 12-35 levels between characters by normalizing the level at which potential combatants face one another. The craptastic Immob, no. But level restrictions on accolades were implemented for the purpose of giving the developers some base from which to work when designing content and setting the difficulty for that content. Same reason we're restricted to four power pools, pool powers have minimum level requirements, powers unlock at specific levels, slots unlock at other specific levels... some structure has to exist, or content development is impossible.
  9. Have you tried a different brand of anti-perspirant? Perhaps a mint or some sugar-free gum? Summer's Eve? Also, there's a badge for completing all of the Hollows story arcs, and switching to Steel Canyon immediately after Frostfire leaves two arcs untouched, thus no badge.

The second power, an AoE status protection/resistance, if you could convince the HC team to do that (best of luck, and i mean that, because i'd eat, sleep and breathe that power on my defenders/corruptors), would be moved to the level 20 selection, as evidenced by existing status protection/resistance in the pools now. The fourth power, +Rec/End, is too large of a change from what the Medicine pool currently offers, so I doubt that one would go through because it would force players to respec if they had the power it replaced. And Field Medic is a bit over the top, potentially better than some melee archetype damage mitigation powers, and would likely be limited to just Absorb. It's clear that you considered the potential power creep they'd add, why you suggested beacons instead of drones, but if they were "better" than the existing Medicine powers, they'd still be saddled with painfully long recharge times, and if they were reduced to a point at which the recharge times were manageable, they probably wouldn't be sufficiently improved over the existing options to justify the time spent changing them. I don't foresee the HC team making these changes. One power, maybe. Two, unlikely, but distant possibility. Four of the five powers, almost certainly not. Aside from the balance conundrum, changing that many powers that drastically would disrupt a lot of characters, and that's as big a no-no as power creep.
  12. So add ten Luck Charms, they're read as ten Common Salvage, and when you need a Kinetic Weapon, you pull one Common Salvage and the container automatically converts it to that. That'd be easy enough to do, just snag the code from the AH and apply it to base storage. But, the interface would have to be revised to account for it. All salvage would have to be listed, and a search bar added so we don't have to scroll through the entire list of salvage in the game to get to the one we want. I'd recommend excluding certain salvage items, like boosters, catalysts, unslotters and super packs, so the container inventory isn't artificially filled with nonstandard salvage and causing confusion ("It says I have 57 salvage items, but it won't let me take a Scientific Theory!"), or leaving an unintentional method of converting one non-standard salvage item to another ("Ha ha, I put in fifty Heroes & Villains packs and pulled out fifty Winter packs!", or "I just turned all of my converters into boosters by dumping them in my base storage."), and creating an entirely new base storage item just for the oddball stuff like that. That would be safer, less cluttered and easier for players to work with.

  15. A character instantly leveled to 50 is generating no more supply than any other level 50+ character when played after using that insta-50 token, and has generated nothing prior to 50 to compensate for the supply reduction when instantly leveled and kitted out. Less of everything being added to the market below 50, no change in the amount being added to the market at 50/50+, more of everything being removed from the market. This is classic supply:demand imbalance which a key factor in inflation. When prices reach a certain level, fear of continued supply shortfalls and the possibility of prices increasing beyond their means will push some players to avoid selling their drops, especially now that they can convert even trash uncommon recipes into something they can use. That's an interesting aspect of inflation, it's self-sustaining due to human behavior. Here is a prime example of what would happen. There are 5123 purple enhancements and 1077 purple recipes on market right now. Presuming each insta-50 wants a minimum of 15 purples (three complete sets), if 300 people each create 3 insta-50 characters and /ah to buy purples, the supply dwindles to almost half. 2066 insta-50 characters would utterly deplete the purple supply. Consequently, the prices on the remaining purples double, at minimum, in the short term. Purples are not bucketed, not seeded, not available as upgrades through conversion (can't convert a rare to very rare), they're only available as drops or merit purchases, and the short term price spikes would lead to long term higher pricing. With each insta-50 dipping into a dwindling market supply, the prices would continue to rise. More and more players would use merits to purchase purple recipes for their own use, hoard purple drops rather than sell them, and the supply shortfall would grow worse, pushing prices even higher. Since merit purchases is an option unavailable to those insta-50 characters, as they earned zero merits, the players who created those insta-50 characters have to fund them from their other characters, diverting more resources away from the market. Yes, some of those insta-50 characters might be played, and some of the players might put some of their purple drops back on the market, but in reality, more insta-50 characters will be created, equipped, then relegated to a back page in the character selection screen, action figures on peoples' shelves, than will be played regularly. And the net effect on the purple market will be gradual depletion and increasing prices. That's one sector of the market, a mere 15 enhancements (out of 90+) taken by each insta-50. The sector which, according to your claims, should benefit, rather than see inflation, since insta-50 characters would have immediate access to content which dropped purples. What happens instead is a sudden reduction in supply, prices going above the established merit:inf* exchange ratio, and the supply not being replenished at a rate comparable to present (door-sitters are still capable of receiving purple drops, since the farmer, being max level, is the one doing the defeating. no purples to add to the supply if one uses an insta-50 token). That is inflation. And it wouldn't be restricted to purples. Every sector of the market would feel the impact. The entire economy would shift. The only way this works without hyper-inflationary situation would be by increasing drop rates for insta-50 characters. And that would create entirely different problems, such as a reduced and continually declining sub-50 population as players shifted to insta-50s in order to take advantage of the increased drop rates; inf* devaluation resulting from the market being flooded with items as a result of the increased drop rates; an entirely different kind of elitism leveled at players who haven't reached whatever milestone is attached to enabling or usage of the token, to list a few examples. That's already been addressed as non-viable. The people most likely to use this already have more than sufficient funds to purchase tokens by the boatload, a high price would be neither a deterrent nor an impediment to them. Hell, I don't farm, I only play the market when I'm leveling a character, and I could still buy a dozen tokens in less than 24 hours, even if they were priced at 2,000,000,000. And, as has been clearly pointed out by others, putting a price tag in the hundreds of millions, or at the inf* cap, on anything would also risk encouraging less well-endowed players to make use of gold-seller services, which is a direct violation of HC policy and therefore not even on the table.

Farming or normal leveling: character generates his/her own supply of inf*; character receives salvage, common IO recipes and SOs as drops, which can be sold for inf*; character receives IO set recipes, which can be crafted/crafted + converted/crafted + sold on AH/sold without crafting on AH/retained for personal use. Regardless of inf* generation via defeats or sales, the salvage and IO set recipes which the character adds to the AH, or keeps for personal use, helps mitigate inflation. Supply maintains pace with demand, pricing structure remains stable. Very low inflation. Instant level 50: character generates no inf*; character receives no salvage, common IO recipes or SOs to sell; character receives no IO set recipes for crafting/conversion/direct AH sale/personal use. Compounding absolute lack of inf* is an immediate and urgent need for enhancements. AH stock of valued recipes and enhancements, such as purples, LotG Def/+Global Rchg and 3% +Def IOs, is diminished when these insta-50 characters go shopping with currency handed down from another character, increasing prices. AH stock of "junk" recipes and enhancements, such as sniper sets, diminishes as players attempt to use converters to compensate for shortfall, increasing prices. Very high inflation. I can't make it any plainer without crayons.

Insta-50 characters would generate zero inf*, zero salvage, zero recipes, zero SOs, which means they would not only add nothing to the market or the economy, they'd impose a massive drain on available market resources, driving inflation into an uncontrolled upswing. My lack of shits to give about what anyone else does ends where IO recipe prices blow past the inf* cap again. It's been a bad idea every time someone's brought it up, it's still a bad idea.
  19. I don't power-level (i do use the 2XP option), I don't farm, I don't use the Architect stuff for anything... and I don't care if anyone else does, or doesn't, do any of those things. I do my things my way, others do their things their ways and I don't make it my business to tell them their business. To date, no-one's made it their business to tell me my business, either, so the world spins on. The sole objection I have to farming is the clutter it causes in various archetype forums (it's difficult to find a good discussion when the first ten pages are crammed with people begging for farming builds). And I deal with that by ignoring the archetype forums entirely unless a specific topic catches my eye. Farm, don't farm, market, don't market, PL, don't PL, AE XP, don't AE XP, whatever.
