  1. I think I've updated the archive with all of the builds I've made since September. Not all builds were posted to these forums. Not all builds are meant for all players. If you encounter build difficulty please put the Lime in the Coconut and drink it all up.
  2. Got around to actually running up the Elec/Beam I made to test the Electric Affinity set and the new End Mod Enhancements. As a quick note, I'm finding spots in RealPlay builds to use the new enhancements, something that I can't really say about a number of the "Expansion" sets Paragon Studios pushed into the game (e.g. Accurate Healing, Accurate Defense Debuff).   4. Quick backport of my AV destroying Bots/Dark into Beast. The enhancements mapped fairly well, largest change in dropping [Mace Beam Volley] favor of [Fortify Pack]; moving the deep Numina set to [Fortify Pack], and converting [Twilight Grasp] to a Panacea. As a design note, with Vigor's Accuracy Buff in play, in addition to the Kismet Proc in [Shadow Fall] the use of a non-acc-healing set on Twilight Grasp shouldn't have much effect on real-play accuracy.   10. So, recently, I posted a binge of Scrapper Invuln backports. While making them I started thinking about most of the Weapon Class concepts and various factors that have driven preconceptions about how those powers behaved. Fair enough [Weapon Customization] wasn't a "Thing" when the game first launched. Most of the original weapon sets then were just different animations, same everything else. Of course over the years the Live Devs retro-adjusted each set to try and make it so that Axe/Mace/Broadsword/Katana didn't obviously feel like the same exact powerset with a different weapon. I had a Katana, or rather Ninja Blade in-game parlance, Super Reflexes Stalker back on Live. I hated her. A memory seared into my mind was [Soaring Dragon] routinely moon-launched enemies I didn't want moon launched, and in large part due to the impact of that power's secondary effects I avoided taking any of the other knock-ups on any similar power-set. Likewise I had a memory burned into my mind of complaining to my SG that I didn't feel especially tough. Then IO's hit, soft-capped became an achievable goal on SR's, and without a lot of cost on the Live server she went from being veng-bait to being something... different. So, now, with all of those old memories in mind, I kind of wanted to go back and design the kind of build I wished I could have made on the Live server. The kind of high-end build that player after player keep telling me transformed their boring characters into wrecking balls of destruction.   11. While I made a large number of builds in the Archive that were derived from what I called the Cinders Class fire-framework, I never made a Claws version. Mitigating claws knockback, protecting against Fire's lack of Knock protection, while pumping enough slots into powers to make them useful, was always just too much. I couldn't ever make a build I would be happy with playing in-game. Then I watched a player on discord mutter and mumble about with a Claws/Fire/Soul brute... and after listening to the player mull over using a Posi Blast...   12. Saw a request from somebody looking for a Street Justice / WP build. This is a backport of a Martial Arts / WP Scrapper Build that was backported from a Radiation / WP Brute... and then fixed forward to use newer enhancements. Now, I know from play experience the Brute works in Real-Play, despite the mediocre S/L/E/N defenses. At 84hp/s on a single target, and topping 90 on two targets, the Brute is within range of going toe-to-toe with Tower Boosted Recluse without having to burn Tier 3 inspirations like candy. The scrapper, of course, is not going to be as survivable with a lower hit point cap, but single-target regeneration is still ~78hp/s. In a full mob it's somewhere around ~130hp/s regen, and that's before both the Panacea and Power Transfer heal procs are considered. The attack slotting is based off of my Stj/Rad scrapper. Ideal chain at level being [Heavy Blow] into [Shin Breaker] to pick up the Defense Debuff. Onto [Rib Cracker] for the resistance debuff to maximize single target damage. Then into a finisher. [Sweeping Cross] is also mitigated against the MOON LAUNCH the finisher knockbuff can cause. So targets should stay nice and close.   13. I find myself re-iterating a post from a different segment of the forums. Sentinels were a Baby-Pool entry point into making entirely new archetypes. They were boring, not that special, balanced according to limited data sets, and leveraged hacks/hooks in the system. I might be wrong, but I dimly recall the Powers Developer on Sekrit hijacking the Striker AT as planned by the Live Devs to get Sentinels up and working. Those of us who participated in the Sekrit knew that a complete overhaul, if not a complete envisioning, of how Sentinels could/would work was always on the cards. Part of that came down to the amount of completely new code being entered into the game. Where hacks/hooks were needed to start the AT years ago, there might be properly defined specification/database points to integrate NEW AT's as a defined modular part of the system. Part of that came down to fixing the kludges with armors and powers in general. Over the course of Sekrit an entirely new powers system was implemented, and that in turn gave rise to the chaining powers we see now in Electric Affinity. These background fixes and improvements to how the game operates also resulted in advancements such as the Tanker and Brute Tertiary powers being decoupled. At the system level you can implement new and different Tank or Brute Tertiary powers without affecting the other AT. You could also change existing Tertiary powers, but, well, that might not go over so well. Flash forward to now, and the possibility that new/different AT's could be upended at a moments notice, is indeed a hard sell to an exponentially larger playerbase already sharing and designing IO builds optimized to what new/different AT's can accomplish right now. It, is not, however, something that I think the Powers Devs should shy away from. I think if the Live devs had been more willing to say things like: "You know what, we screwed up on Peacebringers and Warshades, so we're just going to deprecate the current AT and just work on a whole new AT using new Tech, that should actually play like we WANTED them to play" :: then the player base would be more accepting of what they know right now being completely upended. And ultimately, that may be how the current powers developers approach the problems. The existing Sentinels could be moved to a Legacy Status; eligible for bug fixes, but replaced by a completely new AT. They'll still be in game and accessible, and if you want to have a go at them? GO FOR IT! Play how you want to play.

  17. don't read too much into Travel powers. This is kind of why I flood post with different Tertiary Sets. I've run into a number of other players in the past who couldn't grasp the concept of just having two PHD windows open with the same build. De-Select the powers you don't want on one build, select the powers you want, then fill the slotting back in based on the other (non-modified) build window that's open. [Mighty Leap] is in there because that's just the travel power that was there. Whether or not it was from a backport, just selecting because Force of Will was the first travel power I landed on, is completely immaterial. Just De-Select it, select the Travel Power you want, and go from there. Now, if you go for a Flight travel power, be it [Flight] or [Mystic Flight], you may have to readjust the entire build. Not all powers work from flight, so if you have something that requires you to be on the ground to use, you might really want to consider different power-sets. This goes double if you have a bunch of Melee Powers and you have no good way to close the gap. If you want flight and have a bunch of Melee Powers, go [Mystic Flight] so you can teleport in. Now, as to your claim that there is Anemic Slotting? Um? What Are You Talking about? [Dark Blast], [Antumbral Beam], [Dark Obliteration], [Blackstar], [Life Drain], and [Smite] are all into ED Cap with 96%+ damage boost. The only one that is remotely anemic is [Engulfing Darkness], and it's both a Tertiarty PBAOE (so low stats to begin with), but it's also obviously a backport power. If you want to give it a bit of oomph, you can... I dunno.. JUST SWAP THE SLOTTING WITH [OBSCURE SUSTENANCE]. And, no, I didn't skip the hardest hitting attack. At all. The hardest hitting single target is [Antumbral Beam] with a base of 138.1. [Gloom] has a base of 88.09, [Umbral Torrent] has a base of 48.05, and [Abyssal Gaze] clocks in at 106.2. While you could make the argument to swap [Dark Obliteration] for [Umbral Torrent], as it's 45.04 vs 48.05 base, you'd then have to free up a slot to mitigation the Knock on [Umbral Torrent]. Which, fine, you could just give up some Regeneration and pull a Numina off of [Tenebrous Regeneration] for an Overwhelming force. But now you've got a 30 degree arc instead of a Middle-Of-Mob TAOE. Now, you could also make the argument to swap [Life Drain] for [Abyssal Gaze]. Fair argument there that with the defenses and resists in play, you might not NEED [Life Drain] at high levels. But this wasn't a scaling build. Many of the enhancements are boosted for maximum survivability. When you join task forces where you aren't rolling around with Soft-caps... moving [Life Drain] earlier in the build, say swapping positions with [Cloak of Fear] and [Tough] might be a more desirable option. If you wanted to drop [Cloak of Fear] and have your cake and eat it too, say have both [Life Drain] and [Antumbral Beam] you could move [Cloak of Fears]'s slotting to [Dark Blast], and move the Sentinel ATO set to [Antumbral Beam]. So, let's have a look at what those kinds of builds would look like.

The final build clocks in S/L/F/C defensive soft-caps and hard caps S/L/E/F/C resists on scaling proc. A base recharge of ~61% isn't enough to drive perma-[Hasten]. It's at ~126s/120s. Granted Ageless Destiny will cure that little problem in a moment. The recharge you do get pushes [Concentration] to around a ~26s~28s recharge; and [Energize] to ~37s~38s on a 30s effect.   23. I've never been a big fan of Regen on any AT, so I'm not about to claim that my take on it is any good. I did, however, do an Elec/Ice sentinel, and had a surprisingly clean backport into Elec/Regen. The defenses and resists aren't much to talk about, F/C is soft-capped, so there's that. However, with Accolades, it's slammed into the 2088 hit point cap. With a 736% regeneration rate standing still, or about ~64hp/s regen. On top of that it has the 38% Heal on [Reconstruction], so ~480hp every ~20sec... and both the Panacea and Power Transfer procs. Granted that's with [Hasten] in play, but since [Hasten] isn't quite perma (126s/120s), probably closer to ~23s on average.
