  1. If ever there were a story that needed an AE mission, this is one! I haven’t played with any of the game sound(s) turned on at all since 2006 😁
  2. I'm suspecting I'm safe from this just on the pretense that most of my character names are often so obscure to begin with, or include aspects of other languages that they're highly unlikely to even be thought of. It's kind of that "monkeys in a room typing Shakespeare" kind of scenario. Someone might get it eventually, but it'll take a while.
  3. I better start working on that “/em iBitspanhandle”
  4. I think I'm just too old school reading this thread. I always see builds as they should be good and fixed by 50, and that if Incarnates are going to get tossed on top then they should just be extra dressing. I should be just wanting to use them to cram more power, more damage, not fix fix fix. If I can't take Musculature as my Alpha, and play Wheel of Fortune on my Destiny choices, and take Hybrid Assault for more damage, then I feel like I've definitely done something wrong. Lore or not, I wants the POWAH!
  5. Side comment on this as I disagree. Yes AE was designed with a lore concept in mind to give it a reason to exist within the confines of the game, but there was never any doubt in the development team's mind that it would be used as a doorway to the creative needs of the player-base in order for them to create the stories they wanted to share, and live them. The approval of some of the top ranking stories were even considered "canon" by some when they got the Dev approval mark.
  6. The little'uns just have to get their XP on right? So I'll just carry on with a Mad King as usual and call it a day 😄 No party quite like one getting lead by a Storm/Nrg Defender.
  7. Raises the question of whether a dedicated set of animations to realign all of the blast sets into weapon animations is called for, or maybe the development of just one new set focused on being able to manipulate a few core common choices (like Dual Pistols) with the potential of being added to over time. Above all, I really really want to play an Arcane Tome character now.
  8. It does have an option on the forge builder to purchase the printable file itself, that's what had me curious about its scalability. Some things scale well, some don't depending on how it is originally designed, how many nodes it it starts with, whether they used a tri or hex based connection system for the modeling, etc... I don't have a 3D printer to be that invested in the experiment though, so that's as far as the curiosity went.
  9. Played around with it for 15 minutes and got a pretty passable attempt at my old KM/SR. While there are some interesting helmet options, none of them quite matched what I wanted so there's a minor drawback, but it's not a bad attempt at something that could easily represent what I was going for: I am curious about the print file they offer though if it could be made a bit bigger than the 1" scale. I'd much rather see this in at least a 3.5" size personally if I could print it myself.
  10. Well to be fair I was specifically thinking of the CEBR mission which was designed to front load clusters of spawns with multiple triggers. It would start off with about four groupings, then those would each trigger an ambush, and then there would be two more ambushes after that (roughly, it has been like a decade). The whole process could be cleared in like... five minutes? It relied heavily on abusing inspirations going in, and the settings were most definitely +4/x8, so that's not exactly "wuss" territory, it was just very specifically executed. There are a few maps in the wild that occur with events like this, they're just not so tightly timed, so you could repeat this exercise without AE, it just takes a lot longer 🙂
  11. Aww, I like my TA/A Defender. It does just fine nuking everything in existence. It may not be the fastest alt in my stable, but there is no content it fears.
  12. I'm feeling a terrible urge to go out and make a bunch of Pokemon themed characters right now...🤔
  13. Totally doable with inspirations and specialized solo AE missions. Raise the stakes a bit to level 6 cap and this is essentially the old CEBR challenge! Achieve a solo level 50 in four hours without ever going beyond level 6.
  14. Level range is a big thing to consider. Warriors or Lost would both apply, but are both going to be a sub 25 costume. There's a few options you could consider in the Circle of Thorns with things like the Envoy demons, succubus, etc. Malta uses plenty of drop kicks. Have you thought about going into AE and pulling up the enemy group list and scrolling through that? There are not always things out there that are specifically MA or Psychic, but you could pair into MA with an occasional temporary power to get the right illusion if needed, and who's to say that a Rikti doesn't suddenly drop an Eagle Claw from time to time?
  15. What you're chasing makes me think of the old "MAN" builds that were stripped of as much "super" as possible and (typically, but not everyone exclusively) used only pool abilities for the bulk of its build. I did a Traps/* Defender with Boxing, Kick, and Cross Punch as my primary attacks with an occasional funsies baseball bat, pistol, or what-have-you. The Temporary powers don't hold up well the further into the game a character goes though, especially as difficulty ramps up and their poor accuracy starts to effect you against tougher enemies. On the Traps side I only used Caltrops, FFG, Poison Trap, and Acid Mortar. He is Fully slotted 50+4 and capable of taking down an even-con AV.
  16. I was being a bit cheeky in my original comment, but I think a bit of clarity is due in this thread. This occurrence with (UC) salvage is not abnormal. I'd suspect the reason it may be sticking out more predominately this year is on the fact that so many people were sequestered last year and looking for other online activities to occupy their time so the typical ups and downs didn't occur like in years prior, creating a bit of a break in the tide. The transition from May into June is the typical time frame of schools shifting into summer programs across the globe, let alone specifically just in the U.S. alone where June-August is the typical gap that students and teachers suddenly have more free time, and the game sees that shift/spike. We also often get one (or more) individuals who attempt to manipulate or control the salvage market for a short while without fully understanding its dynamics. Between these two things we have three things happening in stride: new marketeers, an influx of new players consuming salvage stock at a slightly higher rate, and a short-term reduction in salvage production as those who typically had been heavily playing tend to break during the summer season (vacations and the like). Experienced player activity goes down reducing salvage production. New player activity goes up increasing salvage demand. Insurgence of new players brings new marketing attempts that create abnormal trends. This will all be washed over in a few months. Promise.
  17. Wait, how many sl@sh commands does it take to get to the demonic center of a Bill Z Tootsie Pop? Lets find out... Ah One @Bill Z Bubba Ah Two @Bill Z Bubba Ah...
  18. Wait, is it June already? Oh, look at that... It's time for the typical summer Uncommon salvage spike already, I almost missed it. Don't worry folks, things will be back to normal by August as they usually are.
  19. I could be remembering it incorrectly, but I believe it is "Kitty's Got Claws", requires Neuron get taken out first which enrages Bobcat and she goes feral on the heroes. There's also a Neuron clone-killing badge that many bypass due to the time commitment since it adds another ten-ish minutes onto a run that most don't want to sit through unnecessarily. If you have a couple of fully T4'd High DPS Incarnates, its possible to breeze through the TF package in 20-25 minutes 😉 The TF's were designed to work proportional to 50+Alpha and take 20-30 minutes a piece, but are a prime example of how easily the content gets overwhelmed by a T4 full IO build.
  20. You know I haven't been playing the game much lately and something like this pops up it make me think I really should get an investment banker to expand the dividends, add to the zeroes, give to the charities.
  21. Not necessarily nicknames, but I do find myself saying the screen names in weird ways in my head. Like Bill Z's my mind just reads as "Be-illza-bub" Which is, of course... duh, look at the name, but its a subconscious reaction. Something that I do find interesting is back in the old days when I teamed with friend I knew in person, we often ended up calling ourselves our online names in public settings unintentionally. Either one of us would say something and respond without thinking, which would invariably follow up with an awkward look from those around us before we'd both go "... oh, right."
