  1. Meet ARCHAX, the human-piloted robot https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/backstories/2702/ Article streamlined :: Tsubame Industries has created ARCHAX. It currently plans to sell five units for roughly 400 million yen each. ARCHAX stands an imposing 4.5 meters tall and weighs a hefty 3.5 tons. The cockpit is located in its chest. Nine cameras attached to ARCHAX's exterior transmit live images to cockpit monitors, allowing the pilot to navigate. Two joysticks control ARCHAX's arms and hands, which have articulating fingers. In robot mode, ARCHAX stands up and can travel at 2 kilometers per hour. In vehicle mode, it crouches down and can hit a top speed of 10 kilometers per hour. The frame is built by an ironworks firm that makes parts for heavy construction machinery. The exterior is made of the same fiber-reinforced plastics used in F1 cars.
  2. The health and endurance inspirations cover this. They were part of the game before the invention (crafting) system started. And they can be held in inspiration storage https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Inspiration_Storage So both of those are already covered, but I do understand how these "items" are crafted in other games. Here's some workstation options. How about in an arcade cabinet? Or a soda machine? [Back view of the soda machine] or maybe in an oven? I'm sure there are some bases somewhere they took time to dress up the empowerment stations too. [edit| Found one.

  4. From my viewpoint, pick the one that best matches your character conception. If you don't have a character conception, I would think of one for each and figure out, based on the character conception, which one will be more fun to play.
  5. I see. It is recursive.
  6. Uh, link please to each years voting. ?
  7. the original poster said: The first one on th base list says "Cosmic Transport". I usually don't think two things are the same when they have different names. Historically, as far as I know, the first big transport hub base on many of the servers was Warp Zone. Anyone can go in and edit the wiki; change the order of the base and even move other people's bases from one category to another. (which they shouldn't be doing) If the list was in alphabetical order it would still be first on the list. (I think it was in alphabetical order at one point) Just because it is listed first on the wiki only means that someone edited the page to put it there (or was left there when other bases were mixed in out of order after it being alphabetized.) It's not pinned - but I posted it a while back ... for every Shard ::
  8. Well, you could go Dominator and do Gravity/ElectricityAssault for the force lighting.
  9. Actually use gravity as a power or have SFX that can be mimicked with gravity? Cosmic Boy from the Legion of Superheroes. How about Magneto? I don't think it is too much of stretch to say that the Invisible Girl is a Gravity/Forcefield Controller. There have to be a lot more, but I'm getting tired and want to play some before falling down.
  10. I made mine a katana/super reflexes scrapper with the Force of Will power pool (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Force_of_Will).
  11. Took forever, but knew I saw something about this somewhere. This is from the original City of Heroes Game Manual that came with the original release of the game. So I guess they aren't "Nazis" but more like "Neo-Nazis" as "they share the same abhorrent philosophy". But I can fully understand why the game developers releasing the game in Europe would say that there was no connection between the 5th Column and the Nazis. The DEVs also purged all their posts about banning accounts of players that exploited the AE or used it for farming.
  12. Those are Jack Emmert's ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Emmert ) character(s) ... and don't forget ... Tyrant, also known as Emperor Marcus Cole, is a Praetorian Earth Archvillain. (He is also the Statesman/Lord Recluse ... the third in the trinity as it were.) I know there are giant monsters out there, but these 3 are supposed to be the big powers (behind?)/in the game. I see the others have touched on the story arcs. So now the PVP zone where you can run into Lord Recluse and his entourage and the hero enclave (Which I believe still contains Statesman), Recluse's Victory. "... For decades, Lord Recluse has been plotting to destroy Statesman. He has been using captured D.A.T.A. and Portal Corp. scientists’ time technology to create a Destiny Portal—a portal that can travel to alternate futures. Tweaked by Dr. Aeon and perfected by his Mu Mystics, the Destiny Portal has allowed the Spider Lord to experiment with the time stream, visiting alternate timelines of Atlas Park, with hopes of domination...." - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Recluse's_Victory
  13. Yeah, I know. It takes far too long to run that task force. I had thought that it was about 9 hours without team transport (I hear some of Quarterfield TF are run by making sure that everyone had as team teleport before starting the taskforce ... often with others on the team being willing to pick in to make sure everyone has it). Positron was broken into two task forces. I'm not sure how complicated the process is to break the task forces down into parts, but Quarterfield probably should be broken down into at least 3 or 4 parts. Based on our community at this point, I'll bring it up again that I think most task forces should be limited to 30-90 minute average time length (Both Positrons and Yin can be done with 30-60 minutes even on XP teams). This could be done on any of the longer task forces by breaking them up into parts (and splitting the merit yield between parts). Most of the task forces are great content. Content that is not played by many because it takes too long to run a majority of them.
  14. I don't see them listed on the Excelsior base list in the wiki https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Excelsior_Base_List There are plenty of transport hubs listed.
  15. THere is no level 51. You just get veteran levels after level 50. Even with veteran levels, you are really just level 50. The next "level" of stuff is the incarnate system. you need to unlock your incarnate alpha slot to follow that grind-path.
  16. suboptimal to you. It saves my eyesight and takes away the SFX mess that ruins my game experience. Feel free to use another option that you enjoy. And this is why I tend to enjoy came play sub level 30 or so. Even by that level that SFX start turning into a mess with some groups, but that might be due to level 50's in the mix. I don't use /noparticles all the time. I just use it when the graphics get too out of hand for me. For people that have the same kind of issues that I have, it's a godsend.
  17. When I feel like I need an extra power on my petless demon masterminds .... ... I just visit the P2W vendor (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Temporary_Power:_Revolver)
  18. I think they were designed to be intentionally hard to play. I think that is the whole point. To me, it is a shame how much those who hunt Kheldians have been nerfed. They were part of the challenge. Kheldians were also built to be a complication. When people say that game isn't challenging enough, they should get sent back in time and made to play a Kheldian before the massive nerfs to their enemies. Heck, they should get sent back in time before there were IOs. This the skank of Kheldians being on teams even a thing any more? I remember when teams would disband after a Kheldian on the team left because the team would still draw Kheldian foes until a team that had a Kheldian on them disbanded.
  19. When I'm playing masterminds, I'm mostly in defensive mode and use either the primary attacks, teleport target, or just jump into a bunch of enemies to start things off. After that, I'm mainly buffing my pets and letting them do the work.' Meanwhile, my petless demon masterminds (all my demon masterminds) get all the whip powers and use teammates as their minions. I target through teammates to attack their same target and use that character as my main buffing/heal/etc. target.
  20. I don't know about "evil", but the "ebil marketers" out there have been known for a little market manipulation now and again.
  21. You have to decide why you came to THE CITY. Did you come here to be a superhero, supervillain, someone caught in a dystopian reality, or did you come here to mini-max and farm your game time away? I love comic books, and I love creating. This game is full of the potential to create. If you don't want to be creative, there is still place for you here. But if you want to be creative, you can make practically any kind of character you want to here, but it's going to take time to learn all the systems. I strongly suggest starting on the Hero side. Play the tutorial (it will teach you much of what you need to know to get started). If you are a hero, go into City Hall and go down into the basement and find your origin contact and run their missions. Each of the origins will take you on a different path to fight against different enemy groups. If you follow the contacts the game currently gives you, it will lead you into funneling content. Content set-up to condense the lower-level characters into the same content and away from the origin paths. The game will currently route you into First ward and Night Ward, which is also funnelling in from Hero, Villain, and the Praetorian side. On the heroside there is plenty of content you will miss if you follow the funneling path, but you can always make another character or 5 or 10 or ... well, 100's if you really want to feel creative or just want to have a bunch of characters. There are side zones on the Hero side that you can miss and outlevel if you don't know about them, but, then, you can alway make another character and plan to run through it with them. From my point of view, to get the most fun out of THE CITY, you have to use your creativity and make the kind of characters you want to explore the world with and use their characteristics and traits to explore the world through that character's point of view. There are plenty of us here that are ready to help. Don't fear to use the /help channel. You will find that on most of the servers, that this isn't like the /help channel other games. Don't be scared to ask questions. But https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page is a great source of information as well. If you want people to team up with you, just ask on the /lfg (looking for group) channel. Click on a name in the chat window and it will give you a list of options that include inviting them to your team. You can make your own supergroup and build your own base https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Supergroup_Base (starting at level 10, I think), but you can enter a base at any level through a base portal https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Base_Portal as long as you are on a team with someone that has an open base or if you use a passcode. At the bottom of https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Supergroup_Base there is a list of servers. Pick the server you are playing on and it will give a list of open bases with passcodes. The main thing that you have access to in most bases (other than simply going in and exploring) is the teleporters to different zones (you can also travel to different zones by trams, ships, etc.) You can even create your own stories in the AE (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Architect_Entertainment), but it's probably best to enjoy the game for a while first. There is simply so much to explore in THE CITY that it can be overwhelming, so just take your time. There is no rush. And, if you want some extra free stuff, talk to the nearest P2W vendor. People will direct you if you ask, just use the /help channel.
