Microsoft is not your friend. There are reasons why the very first things I do after installing Windows 10 is to run about a half dozen PowerShell scripts, go into the Group Policy Editor, and even into the Windows registry itself to intentionally neuter as much of Cortana and their various tracking systems as possible, and am looking towards switching to Linux. "Tighter integration" with Windows and Xbox streaming services are what I'm afraid of. Those are not good things, and would cause me to abandon Discord. I run Windows 10 without a Microsoft account. I'm not about to create nor use a Microsoft account for something else.

Skype is pretty much dead. I wouldn’t be surprised though if parts of Discord were to be folded into Microsoft Teams. No matter what, should Microsoft acquire Discord, you will eventually need a Microsoft account which I am not thrilled about. I have managed to avoid a Microsoft account so far.

Yep. It’s actually worse when tied to a Defender or Mastermind as you can lose that player at any point on the SF and be stuck. With the Power of Black Scorpion tied to the team leader instead, just have everyone relog. -
Reports indicate that Microsoft is in talks to acquire Discord for more than $10 billion. The deal is supposedly in the very early stages with nothing finalized. Word is that both Amazon and Epic Games have also held discussions with Discord in regards to a sale.

The main justification is that Rune of Protection is a power available at level 20 that is just as good as Melee Core Hybrid, an Incarnate ability. However, I think @Linea has a better suggestion to deal with that. -
From what I understand, that's basically not a bug and intended. While a Mastermind commands pets, the defense buff in Evasive Maneuvers will continue to apply. But as soon as the Mastermind uses a buff or heal, *boom.* The defense buff in Evasive Maneuvers will no longer apply. That also includes auras like Tactics.

It just happened to me. I had Fly and Evasive Maneuvers on. I toggled on Hover, and detoggled Fly. After that, Evasive Maneuvers' speed buff would drop intermittently. I detoggled Evasive Maneuvers, and re-toggled it, and that fixed it. Then I tried toggling on Fly and detoggling Hover, and Evasive Maneuvers' speed buff became intermittent again. However, this isn't 100% consistent. I tried toggling between Hover and Fly a bunch of times, and Evasive Maneuvers would begin intermittently losing its speed buff most of the time, but not all of the time.

It's AE. AE farming has made AE babies believe that doing everything at +4x8 with only one level 50 or one well equipped character on the team to carry them is possible and even desired. It's why you see so many lowbies on zone MSRs who believe that they have no to minimal negative impact on the MSR, and why you see so many level 35 PCs trying to get on ITFs and insist that it be ran at +4x8 with only one level 50 character on the team, even if that character is a Controller. Most of the newbies that Homecoming does get are introduced to the game by AE. They see so many people offering free AE farm PLing, get sucked into it, and then are warped into thinking that that play is normal and expected for the whole game, both in and out of AE.

There's really nothing that the game nor other people can do to get more people to lead teams, Incarnate trials, and/or raids. Only the individual can do that. I'm an introverted loner. (FWIW, my personality type is INFJ, but I digress.) I like people, but dealing with people for an extended period of time absolutely exhausts me. However, I lead teams and even lead Rikti mothership raids. Why? Because if I don't, then who will? Specifically, I much prefer red side to blue side. You don't exactly see PUG Strike Forces forming up 24/7. So I form my own. If I want to do something blue side, same thing. I'm not going to sit around waiting a few hours for someone else to form up a Penelope Yin TF. I'll go form one of my own and get it done. Back on the Champion server, the original Rikti mothership raid leader stepped down. Rikti mothership raids were (and still are) my favorite thing to do in the game. No one else stepped up to lead back then, so I did. I absolutely made a fool of myself the first time I lead a Rikti mothership raid. IIRC, I started calling out the wrong Pylons. But you know what? I learned from that and kept going. Now I lead instanced Rikti mothership raids on Excelsior because after doing instanced MSRs, I can no longer stand zone MSRs. Instanced is just better in every way, IMO. I can only lead two or three instanced MSRs per week at most though because, as I said above, dealing with people exhausts me. People have to want something bad enough to break out of their shell to form teams. Nothing external can change that. -
This was posted in the beta bug reports section, but I figured I'd post it here as well because the bug is also on the regular Homecoming servers. If you die in the first mission of the Barracuda SF and go to the hospital, you're taken to a clone of the Atlas Park hospital. However, upon leaving the hospital, you are unable to access the actual mission content as the area around City Hall is gated by an invisible wall. The only way you can get out prior to mission completion is by using an Ouroboros portal, base TP, or LRT. It's like the entire map is actually a clone of Atlas Park, where the City Hall area is gated and useable for the mission, but if you die and go to the hospital, you're rezzed in the Atlas Park hospital outside of the invisible wall. You can zoom around and investigate the rest of Atlas Park if you want. I tried to take the tram, but it didn't work. :P

Completion of Dr. Khan removing Dimensional Grounding Ray

Having the Dimensional Grounding Ray for future Dr. Kahn TFs is a disadvantage, which is why it is now removed. The Dimensional Grounding Ray only holds a maximum of ten charges. I've done multiple Dr. Kahn TFs where everyone on the team only had one or two charges each remaining in their Dimensional Grounding Ray from prior Dr. Kahn TFs since you can't manually delete the temporary power. That lead to the fight with Reichsman taking about a half hour each time. I'd rather not go back to that scenario of everyone being out of charges and having to fight Reichsman without the Dimensional Grounding Ray. -

IGN has a hour long interview up with Cold Iron Studios co-founders Craig Zinkievich and Matt Highison about Aliens: Fireteam, (a new co-op shooter video game they're working on). However, they also discuss City of Heroes, the CoH rogue servers, and Cryptic's canceled Marvel MMOG. The changes have nothing to do with PvP. Evasive Maneuvers is simply just more useful in combat for those who Fly or Hover in missions by providing Immobilization protection and Knockback resistance, while still providing a flight speed buff if you need it (I.e. if you don’t slot Fly), and a defense buff out of combat. -
FWIW, it sounds like Sanctuary was a complete loss. However, the owner of Sanctuary is starting a new CoH server in its place, Ascension, and promises to take security more seriously this time around.

Psst. He's already a villain. I converted him a long time ago. :P He does need an update though. His mothership security briefing still mentions that there are eighteen pylons outside. Poor guy still doesn't know that there are now twenty. -
In regards to one, I haven't seen the level shift bug since Issue 27 launched in late November, and I run Tinpex at least a couple of times per week. I assumed that the bug had been fixed. Interesting. In any case, you don't have to leave the mission to fix it. Use the Walk power. Yes, the Walk power. You'll have to re-toggle everything, but you won't have to leave the mission.

Yep. Some people deal with it by geoblocking Eastern Europe and Asia (where the majority of bots are from), which cuts down the risk substantially but not eliminates it. Entirely possible, and even likely.
