  1. The Homecoming Wiki is starting to get spammed. See here, here, and here.
  2. Considering that quite a few people still use the 32 bit game client, yes.
  3. Uhh... nothing should be exclusive to those with the Bug Hunter badge. That's exclusive enough as it is and is its own reward. I say that as someone with the Bug Hunter badge.
  4. The two billion cap is due to a limit with 32-bit integers. The highest number a 32-bit integer can go is roughly 2.14 billion. As far as I know, the only way to raise it past that point would be to remove the 32 bit game client.
  5. They actually achieved that with the Champions Online launch patch... where everyone who was enjoying the game in its open beta and pre-launch state fled in droves.
  6. Yeah, Staff Fighting in particular is in dire need of more skins.
  7. Radio missions are inherently boring. It's their very nature. That's why I never run them. Then players make radio missions even more dull by only doing Council radio missions, and wonder why the game is so easy.
  8. The SG cap was already raised from 150 to 300 over a year ago. Not sure if it's possible to raise higher. Everyone I know (including myself), has their own individual SG. We just use in-game global channels and a couple of Discord servers to keep together.
  9. Energy Melee/Radiation Armor. You're welcome. Okie, you want an expansion on that answer? With Issue 26, Page 4, Brutes were made to be the single target tank specialists. No power set does single target damage better than Energy Melee. Radiation Armor is one of the top five armor sets, (Invulnerability, Shield Defense, Bio Armor, and Energy Aura being the others). It's the best resistance armor set, and gives you great resistances for smashing, lethal, energy, and toxic damage types, (which are the vast majority of the game). On top of that, it gives you +recharge to get your Energy Melee attacks going faster, and it includes a mini-nuke of its own in Ground Zero.
  10. My first computer was a Commodore, and I helped run four local BBSs in the 1990s, so I hear you. :D FWIW, BBSs are still alive and well. There's a new three part documentary on BBS usage in the 2020s, if you're interested. Part One Part Two Part Three
  11. Blapping is how Blasters were meant to be played. Those who stay at range are ignoring half of their powers.
  12. Yep. Homecoming can (and should) add more low-and-mid-level content, but it's not going to bring back my friends that have left. Only new endgame content will.
  13. Yep. I know over a dozen people that stopped playing Homecoming over the past year and a half due to the lack of new endgame content. Only so many times that you can do MLTFs, LRSFs, Dr. Kahn TFs, BAF Trials, Underground Trials, etc., and not get bored. I am sure that once new endgame content is added to Homecoming, they will be back.
  14. ROM was rebooted about five years ago and is no longer affiliated with Marvel Comics, but with the Transformers and G.I. Joe. There is also a live action ROM film in the works.
  15. The mechanics of teaming doesn't matter. It's that I have seven other friends on that I would like to play with, and we would all like to play together without having to split into multiple teams. Sure, none of us are necessary on the team, but no one is necessary on any team, regardless of team size. That's part of the charm of City of Heroes.
  16. Just because people go off in different directions does not mean that they are not working as a team. Sometimes splitting up is optimal. I have found that that is especially true if there are multiple melee characters on a team.
  17. Heh, the best thing that I have heard about this: “I think that if Microsoft merges Skype, Discord and Teams together, they can finally realize their vision of using 174% of the CPU while idle.”
  18. Absolutely not. The team size cap of eight is one of the reasons why I play City of Heroes instead of other MMOGs.
  19. I like Energy Aura on Brutes. I find the concept of having both built-in stealth and a taunt aura hilarious. In addition, it allows for me to have full stealth with a +stealth IO enhancement without Super Speed, so I can use Speed of Sound and maintain the full mag 4 taunt.
  20. Crashless nukes were necessary because everyone that wasn't playing Archery nor Dual Pistols (who both already had crashless nukes from the get go), just skipped their nukes entirely. On top of that, now you have newer ranged damage sets like Beam Rifle and Water Blast who were designed without crashless nukes. And Hail of Bullets is being buffed for Page 2, so it'll be an even better nuke that never had a crash.
  21. Just about everyone I know under the age of 45, and quite a few older than that. :P The ones under 35 mostly refuse to have anything to do with forums. Too old school.
  22. Mortimer Kal SF is the same way.
  23. Vanguard merit > reward merit conversion was reduced from ten to one to thirty to one back in July 2019 or so, yes. However, it's still not bad. Rikti mothership raids are actually my favorite thing to do in the game. So just like I lead Rikti mothership raids back on Champion and Exalted prior to sunset, I now lead them on Excelsior. Lately, mine have been averaging about 50 reward merits per raid, which isn't bad.
  24. I have a Water Blast/Force Field Corruptor that I have about 160 veteran levels on. It's an absolutely perfect combination for Rikti mothership raids. Seriously, I can't think of a better character for mothership raids. It's also very good for BAF Trials and Underground Trials. But the rest of the game...
  25. The only good powers Force Field has in endgame are Dispersion Bubble and Force Bubble. Force Bubble is very situational, while Dispersion Bubble has competition from Sonic Dispersion, Faraday Cage, and the new EMP Arrow.
