I am sure the numbers people will have some data soon enough to be more empirical but I played my sonic/sonic and yeah there was a noticeable difference on the good side. I couldn't tell you how impactful the -res changes were but the cast time and cool down reductions totally add up to a smoother and more satisfying experience (sexual metaphor intended).

So Far: - Symphonic (or Symphony) Control - Awesome - Except the sound which I will once again point out sucks and is not symphonic (or Symphony). Someone commented on accuracy. I didn't notice any difference. Remember, cones require more accuracy (and there are a lot of cones). I made a Controller and a Dominator (like I did on Test) and am enjoying both flavors (buff or blast you decide). - Change to aggro - I didn't really notice it much on Test but noticed it a little. It wasn't a problem, it just made things . . . different which meant a little refreshing. Good going. - Removal of AE from AP (and that other place, somewhere in the Isles where nobody goes 🙂 ) - Twenty minutes of good clean fun listening to chat as the farm drones couldn't figure things out. I bet if they left the building in AP but just shrank it they would still get lost. People would politely tell them it had been removed then point out the other location options (The D and KR being near) and they were all "how get there" . . . glorious. - Watching the crowds at iCon in AP trying out the new sheathed weapons. That was pure happiness (as opposed to watching the world burn with the AE shtick). I only have one blade wielder (cutlass pirate scrapper) and those aren't strapped to your back (not a gripe). Seeing cats running with Nemesis staves or those giant twenty foot long swords' on their back was very . . . pleasing. - DFB breaking was just amusing to me; again its about watching the world burn for a few seconds. The devs are dealing with it and its not like its content you cant ever go back and do so the minor inconvenience just makes for great TV. - I got an Aether drop but was to distracted to se what was what. I never really tested the costume doodle stuff. All in all what is there not to like. Its a free game that continues to deliver new things (big or small) and while everything may not please everyone it should still be pleasing to everyone.

While playing a blaster (and the two symph builds) I felt the changes to the aggro deal a little which I found refreshing; made me move around a little more.
-
It was hilarious because someone would ask and get a civil answer then 1.5 seconds later another would ask the same thing. That coupled with the Lost Boss Break in DFB caused a large portion of Atlas Park inhabitants to literally vapor lock, so dumbfounded that they couldn't even lose their minds. It was the best! 🙂

Name question? I don't think it's related to today's changes

I created the new toon, logged, deleted the placeholder and immediately renamed the new character with the name so all is well to me it seems. -

That is interesting but good to know. -
So is it fair to blame it on the rain? I am asking for a friend.

I've done dual builds on characters that aren't kitted out hard with Set IOs, mostly on my support toons. I have a Emp/Psi Defender who has a Team build (heavy slotting on Empathy) and a Solo Build (Heavy focus on the Attacks) which also means tweaking pool powers a bit; if they can only (mostly) buff others but not themselves they are dual.

I love that "all the stabs" flag on the power tray notes.

Now I am gonna hold off on pulling the trigger on making the Symphonic (or Symphony) Controller using the placeholder character I made to secure the name I liked (I haven't been camping on it forever I came up with it when the Symphonic (or Symphony) Control powers were announced in Beta). A bug perhaps. I look forward to seeing any resolution posted here? -

That would be effing phenominal looking. Or maybe the confuse power uses a conductor emote for power use. Tingles. -
Water Blast vs burning buildings in Steel Canyon

Interesting. Good to know. My experience was from inside Navy ships with Halon 1301. -
I look to LFG of all places to be a business up front and in back chat, even if the TF/SF/iTrial's are a little chatty because they sometimes sell the product. Not everyone knows what the WSTs so advertising the high number of Merits in the LFG call helps get joiners. But yesterday and the day before it was freaking panda BS (AGAIN!) that slopped over from General (which has already been moved to its own separate tab because it wont stop) into LFG. I will own up to shooting back in LFG at the attention starved panda clown shoes to STFU so I was contributing to the pollution. Then got my calm back and ignored seven more players and moved on. The problem is you cant ignore everyone and you shouldn't have to since the chat room is clearly Looking for Group, not Looking for Attention (aka General, and Help, and Broadcast and Local and I am sure if they could Hero Zone Events). I am the first person to engage in silly chat but I do it in the appropriate venue. And that is the key, appropriate to the community not to you or me. LFG cannot be clearer in its purpose to the community.

And PKP is right out. I'd Try Halon but it is only really effective indoors. Kills main space fires quick though. -
Unless they are spamming general chat then they make me want to set them on fire.

I said some who run fast Manti, I didn't say all; those are really fast. 🙂

When I am PUGing I try to watch the aggro grabber's indicators and roll from there. When I am on my Blapper there is a lot of AoE so I hold my water until they have the herd piled up before unleashing the Five Furies (BoS, Scorpion's Tail, Hail of Bullets (Backflip), Empty Clips, Bullet Rain). I like my aggro grabbers making tight mobs so I let them do their thing and its win win. Do I always get it right, nope. I have not had a aggro grabber lose their mind over issues like this but I can imagine it happens.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
High_Beam replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
There's a lot of feedback in here that is far more detail-driven and data oriented and I tip my hat to those cats because I am not that person. My takeaways from this are merely from playing them for a bit on Test with bumps at 20, 30 and 40 using just SOs because at the core a character is supposed to be fun no matter what. I tested it as a Symphonic (or Symphony) Control/Sonic Resonance Controller and a Symphonic (or Symphony) Control/Fiery Assault Dominator (again because I am not super number person and had ideas as to what I wanted to play thematically). 1. The sound. Its not good. It's really the opposite of what I would call symphonic (or symphony). What would work is something akin to the melodic aspect of Howling Twilight (I think that's what the darkity dark power that is a rez but used often as a stun is). Of course not so loud or jarring but that harmonic resonance really works. There could easily be variations of that instead of . . . whatever the sound is we have. 2. Now speaking of Symphony as in many musical instruments working together to produce something beautiful; this set does that. In playing, especially around level 20 - 30 it was really fun with the cones all flowing well together. As others have said a key here is setting up with the stun then hammering in with the other cones. I didn't seem to have too much problem with positioning but that's always been the way for me who played an energy blaster on live for years who used Energy Torrent tactically to rearrange mob positions. The single target confuse didn't (and doesn't) get used much by me but it fits. The best part was that the locking layers meant I wasn't getting pounded back on too much. I cant wait to run it in a team. 3. Again, the sound. Yuck. This is one of those things that I really am having a hard time dealing with. I know there are customizations that will allow me too turn it off but really, I cant be the only one here.. 4. Now I went with Fire on the Dom because I am still a range kind of gal for the most part. Yes I am getting better but it takes time to erase habits. So the combination is sweet and again, the flow was real good and this is where I noticed something. At 20 I had two fire attacks and almost all of the Symphonic (or symphony) and I was mowing through Warriors in Talos and Freakshow in Bricks (mobs, of like 7). I am no power player, not a super Set IO and min-max guy, not running at +4/+8 on missions. I test with SOs because base play is important, I hate the term "the set shines when you slot Set IOs". It should shine without them and it does, Set IOs later is just gravy on the pancakes. I super enjoyed it. I really look forward to playing this set when it goes live. P.S. - The sound. Ew! Seriously? So Gross. -
That was really good information and I stand corrected with my attempt at a joke.

I know of several players that run highly efficient and fast yet still enjoyable Task Force runs (Blapperella), often explaining what will be done so that others can either learn for their own hosting later (am still not good at it) or just so they can stay on script. Some of the more painful ones mentioned go pretty quick when she runs them and aren't so bad (Manticore goes well and even Synapse isn't as bad). Put it this way, when she runs the old OG Positron or Psyche, they run faster than some who are running Manticore with a degree of speed. Why do them, well Merits and badges and in my case, my reptile brain says I have to do it just because. Side note, Moonfire is my way of getting puppies and Snarkys fast.

I ship recipes, salvage and influence around to my alts all day long and yet I never even thought to E-Mail myself inspirations in the event I needed one, how dumb can I be (apparently on a sliding scale its currently a seven). Well the forums taught me something that I already knew and I need to E-Mail @Yomo Kimyata for fun and profit (mostly profit).
