This. All Day. Every Day. As to the other one, dunno. But if what we are seeking is a way to differentiate Brutes from their melee cousins, and in keeping with the "Unstoppable Force" theme of the AT (where as Tanks are the proverbial "Immovable Object") then +rech/+spd is an excellent start.

Sins of the Devs are visited upon the players

But do you know how many pounds of Inf you have? -
Hmm. A lot going on in these questions. A "good" costume could be one that is particularly artistic in its use of pieces, color, etc. It could be one that is completely hilarious and works because of word-play with the toon name, or combination of sets. For many folks it is invoking a certain age of comic art. Interplay between AT/Sets/Costume/Backstory with or without a touch of humor are usually the best ones. I am a bit of an oddball in that I don't really make traditional "super hero" style toons. Sometimes 2 colors are too many, sometimes there is no such thing as too many. I tend to work with no more than 3 main colors and will vary their shade (brightness and saturation mostly) in order to enhance the look. There are certain costume pieces that lend themselves to this sort of thing: like the Elemental Order pants/tops for example. Often a touch of out-of-place color (sunglasses, goggles, etc) can make something really pop. Like that one point of light in a darkened frame that brings the whole image together. My only real rule of thumb is that all my toons (that are humanoid or that have hair) are redheads, just like me. 😉 Depends on the rest of the costume. I'll match boots to belt when making a "street" look like a suit or something similar. Origins are very broad. Why not Magic? An archer who's abilities and bows are enhanced through magical means. Or science? Perhaps genetic manipulation has given this person incredible abilities with a bow. Aliens who's abilities are part of their evolution could be considered Natural. A powered armor wearing warrior could be mistakenly pulled from their world by a "demonic summoning" gone awry - is that magic or tech? Is an android hero Science or Tech? Origin is very loose, and the game just doesn't account for anything other than a modified human based on mission/npc chat text. Does that fit with who they are, even if that is only defined on a rudimentary level? Is the Fire wielder the sort to don flashy spandex and draw attention to themselves? Or are they a reformed Hellion still rocking street-wear on their way to fancy new duds? Their own aesthetic taste. I can't say if anyone else thinks my costume designs are any good, but I like them. Unsolicited compliments, naturally, are validation that one's taste is shared with others. To date I have only gotten 1 via a PM, for the toon in my avatar, and I don't think it was necessarily for the costume. 🤣

Nope. I don't recall being very active on the old forums, though I did read them from time to time after a few issues into the game's life. Was fairly sporadic though, certainly not a regular. Wait. Were we supposed to do that? Is that how we gain admission to the Inner Council of Thirteen Circles?

Absolutely no precedent for Nictus infused humans to be able to teleport. Nope. None. Nictus just can't teleport at all, ever. https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=warshade_offensive.umbral_blast.starless_step Oh, wait. Ooops. 🙄

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law

Yep. In this case two Wongs do, in fact, make a right. 😉 -
Accepting Presponsibility: The possession of foreknowledge that what one is about to do will have consequences, yet doing it anyway.

This is Tina Belcher's thread now. We're all just reading it.

Yes. That is a much clearer and more accurate explanation. Thanks! Gotcha. For some reason I thought that was already the case.

As I understand it, essentially no. Cap is still 17. Mobs beyond 17 that have the perception to notice you and are within the range of their ranged attacks will lob fire at you, but are not supposed to pursue if you break LoS or exit their viable range. Nor should they close to melee range until a slot opens inside your solo aggro cap. If you are on a team and at the 17 cap then the ranged volleys should overflow onto teammates which are not at the aggro cap. I can see this mechanic drawing multiple groups down upon teams where previously the group across the room would just watch us slaughter their friends and wait their turn. Taunt should still apply -range and should still draw the taunted mobs attention away from whatever it was attacking and onto the source of the taunt. Mobs that break these behaviors should probably be reported as bugs (with some sort of referential info ideally) so that Devs can determine if the mechanic is WAI or if there are lingering issues not discovered during testing.

I mean, me either. Sure they'd spam heals and buffs, OTOH they're minions that can be insta-jibbed with a wide variety of attacks so ... 🤷♂️ Just meant to convey that they're consistent with mobs that lack attacks/damage in being 0 xp defeats. 🍻

They have no attacks. If they gave XP a player could fill an AE farm with them and gain rewards with zero risk. Pretty sure all mobs without attacks are the same way.

I'm not new....but I care now? Need some help

If you only want fly as a travel power and not Hover/Evasive Maneuvers for constant use, and if this idea fits within your thematic limits/tastes, then the Small Longbow Jetpack temp power is a great option. Other Jetpacks/Temp Flight powers are available as well. Once the Fake Money Units roll in they are cheap to maintain, relatively speaking. I have a mix of Fliers and Ground Pounders in the stable. It sort of depends on the toon. The Ground Pounders usually cart around a Jetpack though because I like to cross zones hands-free if I can. -
Tsoo Sorc's use regular Teleport with much longer range than CT. Surgeons are likely limited to 100' as the default range of CT. They seem to rarely go further than the max range of their abilities though.

Welcome Home. Brute section down in Archetypes. Tons of info on Rad/Fire in there including finished builds, leveling advice, etc. There are badge tracking tools available to players. Best source of raw info is the HC specific wiki: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page Are they worth it? Depends on which badge and who is answering the question. There are some badges that come with either temp powers or permanent buffs. Generally I always grab the 4 passive accolades on any toon that is a keeper. Badging is a mini-game unto itself for the collector/completionist types. If you're into that sort of thing there are forum threads a-plenty on the topic. Really depends on what missions/groups you're going up against. Using IOs you can build up defense on top of the resistance provided by your secondary (see next reply). Some groups are going to be a cake-walk for /Fire. Others with will drink your milkshake. You're likely getting eaten by groups with debuffs or stacked with a damage type against which fire is weak. Or both. Not all groups are created equal around these parts. There is a cross-over point where Common IOs make more sense than SOs available from vendors. But the big game changers are invention sets. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Enhancement_Sets Lots of different methods for the approach here; some will add what are called "Unique" pieces during leveling or start adding attuned sets as they are available if the player already knows the build ahead of time. Some folks will just respec at 50 and do their finished build all at once. I need to slow-play anything to decide if I enjoy it before building it, so I usually add key pieces as I go along. If I shelve the toon I just email them to another for later use. Check down in Guides. There are solid guides at building up some Fake Money Units using various methods as well as what IOs are good to pepper in during leveling and other such tips and tricks. Hope some of that helps! -
Incarnate level Surgeons use Combat Teleport with impunity and demonstrate intelligence in where they decide to port off to.1 It. Is. Glorious. So glad we're actually seeing stuff like this more and more instead of just the same old murder-balls. (edit) 1 - I found they will often port to a spot where they maintain LOS on their buff/heal targets but are still sort of "lurking just around that corner." Seek them there or just macro CT/Jaunt to target and follow them when they port.

This is actually fair. I was being a bit harsh with that comparison. Hmm. At the moment, no. That T9 is a big turn off for me. 😄 I'll concede that I've spent a ton of time making PM work, even with a "Concept > Meta" build, so perhaps more equivalent in that respect. And I forget that things still rank low/high within a given tier. PM is substantially better than it's rep, but not so much so it belongs in a higher tier. I guess the same could be said for KM then. My attempts with the latter were ... disappointing. 🤷♂️ 🍻
-
KM is way too high on that list. I sorta-main a PM/SD scrapper and I just don't see KM being on par with Psi. For that matter BS is much better than KM. KM should be at least D, if not F.

The Truly Final Forever Scrapper Contest!!!
InvaderStych replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in Scrapper
Seriously. My current "forever scrapper" has a primary that didn't even make the list after the initial vote. 😄 ----- @Yomo Kimyata - define "Forever." 😉 Random thoughts: I'm calling Savage/Stone as "unlikely to be the winner" as Leap does not Proc Brimstone on it's AoE, unless that sort of mechanical shortcoming doesn't bother you. IIRC it might proc on the teleport target, but I don't recall since I've not run it since it was in Beta. (Savage Leap triggers two effects. The AoE damage has an activation time of 0 and since Brimstone's damage is calculated on activation time the result is ... null.) Note that Lightning Rod and Spring Attack also do not proc Brimstone either. NOTE: If this has been fixed since the release of the set someone correct me and I'll strike-through this paragraph in an edit. RM/Ice sounds good, but RM is such a ugly slog in the animation department. You're a more patient Boxer than any I've met if you pick that one as the Forever Toon. Claws/SR is a total classic, but nothing terribly quirky or different about the combo - tremendously powerful button-mashing blenderizer, but quirky and unique? Nope. Debating if I think this one drops out during the elimination rounds. I'll have to circle back and see about taking a guess at the Final Winning Combo though, so reserving the right to post again in the near future after giving it more thought. PS. My global and forum handle are identical. (InvaderStych) -
