So imagine our Devs decided to go for CoH 2...
Ironblade replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
Fingers. I want fingers. -
I'm sure you've figured this out by now, but there was an idiot on that DFB and it wasn't you. I did this back in the day to introduce new players to the game and meet new players. There was no DFB so I made a character and ran him through Atlas Park and The Hollows. After finishing the Hollows arc, I'd delete and recreate him.

Right, he needs to find someone else doing it. I think in the past you only had the one shot and it is NOT available in Ouroboros. At some point it was changed to allow team credit instead of only the mission-holder being eligible. On a side note, my main already has the badge and I have multiple 50's on Excelsior and Everlasting. If you're on one of those, it looks like I could get the contact pretty quick (if I don't already have him). So, if you have trouble finding someone with the mission, let me know.

Accurate. There's a lot more sources for these things. They are clearly NOT locked "behind Hm raiding". In fact, I got most of mine from a method you don't even mention. The new Halloween badges gave two each and there were five badges. That's 10 per character. I cycled more than 30 characters through the hotel murder machine in Peregrine and got over 300 in a couple days. My next largest source is either iTrials or the Weekly Strike Targets (I'm not keeping track). I do the Weeklies a lot for the Notices of the Well.

My girlfriend does iTrials while traveling on a three-year-old Microsoft Surface. If you're willing to turn your settings down a bit, you can play on pretty much anything. Some crazy person literally got the game to run on a PHONE. Having said that, a computer with a discrete graphics card is a much better choice. Anything you can buy today, with a discrete graphics card, will handle the game easily.

Well, during the Halloween event, I got the five new badges (and accompanying Aether) on every 50 I had (on every shard) and a few non-50's - about 30 characters total. I got all the badges pretty quick, but also kept collecting them so I could get the mini costume for my main. I don't think the requirement for the badges was outrageous (as long as you only have one badger) but the dopey costume items seem overpriced. To me, some of the most expensive ones are the stupidest-looking and I have not seen ANYONE using them. Unlike the mini costume, which seems pretty popular. So, overall, these badges didn't seem too bad to me since I would have gotten them inevitably anyway since I run the weeklies a lot (for the Notices). Here it is mid March and I've done 70 task forces or trials - so averaging about one per day.

Not unless it happened fairly recently. I got the healing badges last year (maybe in the 3rd quarter - not really sure).

Well, that was an old post and I did find two Pokemon friends from Homecoming. If I ever need more friends, I'll post here again. Actually, you definitely can trade Pokemon between players. That's how I've gotten regional Pokemon from other parts of the world.

There is another method that I prefer because there is frequently someone already healing the troops by Kalinda. Gladiator 'heal farms' are done on an instanced map. Unfortunately, you either need two accounts or someone willing to help. If you can find someone else who also wants those badges, you're good to go. I ran overnight heal farms back on live (when the requirement was 1 billion HP healed) and would sometimes have more than a full team of people show up. You need the Longbow Defender gladiator which, if I recall correctly, is earned for 50 PvP rep. If you're going for all the badges, you'll need that anyway. You start a gladiator match in the Arena with the Longbow Defender and a bunch of low-cost spuds and set them to defensive so they spam the heal. Since you can't have an Arena match without an opponent, you need another player or a second account.

Combination of both? I dunno. I never have any issue at the MSR but you say you sometimes have SOME lag.

You can pull up your info (or anyone's) without going to the menu, as follows: Hit <ENTER> to activate the chat line Type: /info Hit <ENTER> That will bring up the info window for anyone you have targeted, or yourself if no one is targeted. Personally, I like to read people's bio's and other details so I have the /info command bound to the i key.

Yay! You got your sass back! 🙂
-
What?! You have a problem with a broadsword scrapper having the word 'blade' in his name? I feel called out by this! 😛
-
The implication being that he 'sacrifices' the chicken by beating it with the keyboard?
-
No. Your OPINION is that it was a waste of time. However, the people actually allocating the time and effort clearly do not agree. I would also point out that they are in a position to know how much effect it will have, while you are not.

Yeah. My main has two Lore pets and six of the Destiny powers.

Of course. It's your karma.

Help with Schadenfreude in Dr. Kahn Task Force ?
Ironblade replied to MrZork's topic in General Discussion
Well, with those two characters you have very little damage output. My usual solution for that is that every one of my characters will have a Shivan Shard temp power from Bloody Bay and, once they're high enough to join Vanguard (level 35), the Vanguard HVAS temp power. Two players could have done it if one or both had strong debuffs. Having said that, I would not even attempt that TF with just two people since the AV at the end (Reichsman) is STUPIDLY TOUGH. Every team I have ever been on absolutely curb-stomped Schadenfreude but some had a real slog when we got to Reichsman. If you haven't figured out what to do with incarnate shards, that means you're only level 50. Once you create powers using those shards, you can become level 50+1. You don't get any extra powers but you fight as if one level higher, which makes a big difference on tough enemies. Also, it sounds like you're using SO enhancements or possibly generic IO's. You need to look into set IO's, ATO's and purple IO's. Are these needed for normal content? No. But duoing the Kahn TF is *NOT* normal content. That requires a high-end build. Personally, I have never done the Kahn TF with less than 8 people on the team. I would never attempt to duo it. And I duoed the Imperious TF with my scrapper and a tank to get the Master badge (no deaths). -
My new character "routine" on entering the game
Ironblade replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Exactly. But I don't have to remember the command because it's in my file of keybinds so it takes just a single keystroke. 🙂 -
My new character "routine" on entering the game
Ironblade replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I add a step in between these. I manually type the long string command that loads my main keybind file. Then I hit the single button to customize my chat window. -
eh, I can't be bothered to go to the forums to look this up. I have an Excel spreadsheet for CoH and, on one tab, I set up a list of all the weeklies with their contacts, locations, and space for notes. And I set up a formula to check the current date and highlight which week is current. I just have to update the date at the top of the list once every 13 weeks.

Works well for the damage dealt badges. One of the freem powers gives all of your attacks a MASSIVE DoT. - so massive that any fast recharging power will just kill off the AV's. Use one of the Judgement powers.
-
I think it's entirely possible. I started with using Excel before Mids existed and never switched. To be fair, I don't make a lot of new characters - one every few months. If I made a lot more, my way would probably be burdensome.
