  1. And has absolutely hilarious animations, while in granite form...
  2. Got hit with that alot and had to watch the colors of the cons, else taunt the rest of the team! 😕
  3. Happy to! Also thanks to @Spaghetti Betty and @ZemX for zooming ahead and finding the objectives. We finished in 1:03, with half the team (myself included) not being incarnates/full builds. Not bad, IIDSSM.
  4. Yeah, those +4 bosses are no joke. Great pics!
  5. Yes. So major that my titular toon doesn't even use Granite Armor. I kept it in the build, for an "oh crap" button, but really don't need it.

    Tanker advice

This week (11/14) we're on Torchbearer. Meet in King's Row, at the Independence Port gate at 9P EST.
  7. I was fortunate to get on Ronin's Citadel team and we finished in 1:02 (and in grand fashion). Good times, for sure.
  8. My pleasure and no problem. Since my global is @PLVRIZR, most just call me "PLV", regardless of which toon I'm logged on with. I played from 2004 to 2012 "lights out", but didn't find Homecoming until Feb. 2020, so most of my original names were taken. Glad it worked out and that's one of the great things about this community. One of the most helpful and collegial groups on the internet. I would also recommend you checking out a Tanker Tuesday Tour night (schedule is in @Warboss's signature). Tank only teams and we'll do WSTs and other special events. There's always a missions team, for those tanks who aren't high enough level to run the weekly TF. Nothing like watching 8 tanks herd 100+ mobs in a giant room, then melting from AOEs 😆. You can check out some of the screenshots and stories, here:
  9. Howdy, @NiteCloak Like many questions in the forums, much depends on your personal definition of "definitive" and what your personal goals are. I built that toon, so I'll give you some of my personal insights. Lemme start with playstyle and (as a retail 2004 player) I consider myself more of a purist, than a hard core min/maxxer. Not to say I don't maximize when it fits, but it's not about eeking out the last .00001 of something. (P.S. If you want the tankiest version, you'll need to find @Hyperstrike and the "Mo Durable" build). Punch: I never liked the animation of punch (half of Haymaker) so I prefer Jab. I also slot it with the full SGF set and its fast recharge and constant use means the absorb proc fires constantly. On that note, there are those who will split SGF into two sets of three, to double the E/N resist (to 12%), but I used other strategies for that. Probably half my 500+ vet levels, on this toon, are from ITFs of all sorts, but I've never had E/N problems. For one of the best tanker AOE attacks in the game, Foot Stomp at 5.16 sec recharge (or 7-ish with Hasten on cooldown) sounds pretty good to me. 😆 I also like to keep purple sets together, so Foot Stomp gets all six Armageddons (which does have 10% recharge), along with the proc which still fires during Rage crash (and a couple more choice bonuses). Recharge: You could find a few more places for LotGs, but defense slots are few and precious, in Inv (e.g. 4 Shield Walls in CJ, for E/N resist) Inv has a great heal, but no end management, so with Generic IOs you will have to manage your end, but there are a lot of ATs which fall in that category. You duly noted Recovery Serums are great (and cheap). I only used the "standard" two slot for Stamina, with the proc and end mod. Once incarnated, Ageless (Radial tree for the DDR, especially for your teammates) takes care of any and all end problems. Accuracy: The reason Super Strength works is Rage. Single stack is 99% to hit bonus (perma) and double stacked (123%). Sure I also occasionally miss (but routinely am fighting +4s and debuffed. While I *hate* being blinded, and take FA (and Energy Mastery) on many of my tanks, I went a different route with NUT. Pyre Mastery is great with the single hold Char (for sappers and the like) and it also takes the Entomb proc for another absorb shield. Two slotted also gets 6% F/C resist and I enjoy helping on Fire Farms, so that's a good thing. Furthermore, you then get Melt Armor, which is an amazing AOE debuff, which really helps in those long AV slogs. I three slot it with Exploited Vulnerability, well, because it's only a three slot set (and cheap). Random thoughts. Hurl: Nice to have a ranged attack (which includes grounding fliers) and I three slot it with Far Strike (another only three slot set), with some Toxic/Psi resist and a couple extra hit points as baby bonuses. Tough: Gets two slotted (muled) with Impervium, is never toggled on. Unstoppable: gets muled with Impervium, but is also never used (not even in my tray). Bottom line, you can't really go wrong with Inv/SS, so enjoy it and let us know how you wind up.
  10. An all Rad/SS ITF should be on the agenda, in the future! I know @PapaSlade and @Ronin_Around would be in!!!!
  11. I was late to the party, so missed the pylon destructions, but made it to the bowl in time. Was immediately tasked to herd and PLV, with minerals on full tilt, had no issues bringing any and all bosses to the kill zone. @Spaghetti Betty, I was late because I thought I was gonna get a quick +4/8 ITF on Exc, with NUT, but ran into an old friend in @Cassie Knight, who was forming a 4*HM. They were kind enough to let me tank for them and we finished in just about an hour. Reminded me that I have a rain check for a run with you, as well 😆 The steamroll Market Crash after the MSR was also a good time. Got another couple levels on my leveling build Rad/SS. Four or five more to 50.
  12. ^---this. @ZemX is a super pro and anyone would be wise to follow his advice. The P2W amplifiers are (as noted) super cheap at lvl 1 and make the initial grind a whole like more enjoyable...and this goes for any and all archetypes.
  13. You have Storm Kick toggled on, so you get +10% defense to all positionals. In game, it's temporary (3 sec.?).
  14. "Performs better" is dependent on what tasks you are expecting to accomplish. If you truly want the durability of a tank, then tank it is. Other ATs can "tank", but tanks were designed, from the jump, to...well...tank. Shield (defensive based set) is top-tier in survivability, with ridiculous positional defensive numbers and extremely high inherent DDR. You duly note there is no heal, so pairing with a secondary that has a heal (like Dark Melee), makes it even more survivable. If you can wait until the incarnates, you can also cover that gap, there.
  15. +4/8 with no daggers (or any other temp powers, for that matter) did make for a bit of a slog, but we kept pounding at it. There were at least three of us (maybe four), who weren't incarnated, so 24 defeats was not only not surprising, but was probably the largest I've seen in all my TT years. I realized that Rad/SS is virtually a cheat-code level pairing, as I didn't fall, all night (came close a couple times when moving forward to herd and hadn't done my click buffs). At 41, with a hodge podge of sets and standard IOs, at that. Mixing it up makes for a fun time. Count me in! P.S. Ewwww (the thought of Clamor "going down")...
  16. I recommend the Stone/SS tank. My titular toon (and first 50 tank and second 50 ever on Live) is just ridiculous. Stone, on a tank, is so strong you don't even need Granite armor, but I kept it for an oh-$hit button and because a stone tank without Granite is like, well.../insert one of many comparative phrases, here/
  17. All joking aside, once you hit level 12, you can slot Pounding Slugfest - Disorient Bonus.
  18. Yeah, what a great time. Even with only five, we were mighty as evidenced by finishing in just under an hour (59 min.). At +4/8 and no insp. And a kill most, at that. Kudos to everyone! Challenge, accepted! Knowing ITF was the weekly, I brought one of my Inv tanks (BALLBUSTR). It's not the NUTCRCKR build, so it lacked Pyre Mastery (instead taking FA and Cross Punch), which would have made the AVs drop a bit quicker. When we run it, Iet's do it on Exc, and I'll bring NUT. Also, with only one Ageless equipped toon, I had to very carefully time the activations, for both the end bar (mostly for the team) and the DDR. Disabling inspirations was a fun challenge, for sure. Enemies buffed would have probably added another 30 min.

    Rad/SS Build

Just my .02 inf.: SS without Rage is like Macaroni without Cheese. Rad is an excellent pairing, because of the diminished effect of the -def on Rage crash. Multiple ways to also diminish the effect of the -dam (procc'd attacks, prestige attacks - Sands of Mu/Blackwand/Nemesis Staff, taunting, repositioning and/or repositioning-herding of mobs).
  20. Trying to find a "trustworthy" player to transfer infl. between toons. Making all Mutant origin toons because the Mutant store was close to the Steel tram and hitting lvl 12 and racing there (without dying) to load up on DOs. FINALLY hitting 14 and getting a,...wait for it...TRAVEL POWER!!! Very first time my Kin/Dark 'fender teamed with a SS tank, over level 18 and watch the windup of Knockout Blow. Amazing! Getting that same 'fender to 50, by teaming with a Stone tank on the Chimera ninja map and speed boosting that granite/SS pile driver to herd half the map at a time. I think I went from 42 - 50 in about two hours. Turning off all powers and jogging back to Ms. Liberty, to train, after dinging 50, regardless of where you were. Usually Peregrine Island...
  21. My pleasure! We were a small team, but we were mighty! @Warboss, @Spaghetti Betty and I finished a +2/4 (we thought we were going to start with four, but one didn't accept the LFG port and was dropped, by the UI) in 1:01 with no defeats. I took my Inv/DM (homage to Heraclea's original build) and it was a cakewalk. 😆
  22. And with two SS, one RadMelee and I forget the other two, a whole lotta AOE love to go around. Thanks for leading, it was a blast.
