  1. Just to throw it out there, Elec Aff is only as busy as Kin if you make it that way; most of Elec Aff's abilities do not need to be used on CD, especially as you get higher in level and people start managing their end better and such.
  2. No, I did not mean avant garde. 🙂 The kind of nice thing with fashion is that it is open to interpretation.
  3. Depends how into it you want to get. You can look at shows for the big brand names (Gucci, Prada, Valentino, etc.), movie references like Zoolander, or just your own interpretation of what a runway look would be. The game will limit this one to some extent just for lack of options in the CC Edit: Whoops, I messed this one up with the fashion show theme. This week is a musical theme, which should be easy; you're just building around a genre
  4. @Midnyte Omg, that 420 healing was a perfect catch! I am not sure if it was from me though since I wasn't level 50 for most of the SF and didn't spend too much time in the melee scrum since I kept dying. But it certainly could have been one of the times I was in there! lol. Regardless of who it was, that is too funny @TrixieKixx I think I have the perfect rocker for this; I will try to get Shock N Shout - Elec/Sonic Dominator leveled up
  5. Provided I don't oversleep, I should be there on Beast of Soul - Dark/Dark Defender
  6. Cat 5 and Storm Cell are both designed so that if you want them to be at their most effective, you need to be firing off your other attacks. Your other attacks are what procs Cat 5 to be its most destructive

    Storm!

I haven't been able to play on live yet since the patch released, but as I mentioned in another thread like this, I plan to roll a Storm/Dark corruptor. Dark Miasma offers quite a bit of synergy with Storm to help keep things in your pile of chaos. Storm/Fire Blaster - It's squishy as hell while leveling, but you're pretty much a massive ball of PBAoE craziness that is kind of fun and addicting. Storm/TA Blaster - The little bit safer, play at range and keep shit contained in my Cell/C5 blaster Storm/Elec Sent - Didn't get this out of the low levels yet, but it seemed like it fit together thematically and Elec Armor has Energize, Lightning Reflexes, and Power Sink which seem like they should aid the play of Storm Blast
  8. My only experience with it so far is on the closed beta; I just started a new job where between commuting and my actual 8 hour shift, I'm gone for like 10+ hours a day, so I haven't really been able to play lately. That said, Storm Blast is end intensive on pretty much any combo--that seemed to be something all of us testers noted unanimously (both closed and open beta). My biggest experience with Storm/Dark is leveling as, at the time, the low to mid level ranges were what was needed. The combo breezed through Praetoria; it plays very safe and I feel that /Dark offers a lot of synergy with Storm Blast regarding helping to keep things in Storm Cell more easily. I don't feel like /Dark is super active, especially compared to the likes of /Kin or /ElecAff, so I don't think Storm/Dark is as active as some of the other pairings might be (granted, again, I didn't do much at high level play). I like that Fluffy brings you some extra controls and a heal, making it play even safer while soloing. Still undecided on what Epic I want to take for when I'm eventually able to getting around to making and playing the character on live now that the patch has launched. Sorry I can't offer more! I was jumping about testing different things, and RL got messy, and I'm such an altoholic, lol
  9. I don't really have free time anymore, so I haven't been able to get to 30 on my characters, but I love doing these to see what people (myself included) get for their rolls. I ended up with an unexpectedly fun blaster.
  10. Sorry, I really haven't had much time to check the forums this past week after starting my new job. Trixie, there's nothing wrong with being a casual player who's just playing the game to have fun. That's pretty much all I am doing. I played for some time during Live, but I was a teenager and I never learned anything in depth. And I'm certainly no expert now. I don't really do builds. I test things out and try to get a feel for what works, and I read. I enjoy following the forums/gold standard discord and picking up bits and pieces of information. I also find that at least being aware of what's going into beta and reading the patch notes helps--and if there's something I'm really interested in, I hop on beta to test it. I also like to give feedback for beta stuff because I feel that I represent our kind of demographic of player and that our voices are just as important to be heard as those hardcore players. But there's still tons of stuff I don't know about the game (e.g., melee AT's are kinda not my thing, so I'm not as good with knowledge in those AT's compared to something like an MM where my knowledge is a lot more extensive), especially anything super in depth involving numbers and such. I'm just not interested in min/maxing and that sort of thing. For example, I only brought up the stuff about Thermal last run I was there because I was mildly surprised not to see the shields going out--obviously we did fine and completed the SF--it was just something that threw me off and like one of those, oh hey, those would have been nice to have kinds of things. Another example: I frequently see people say that khelds are crap unless they're tri-form. Well, I only play my WS in human form because that's how I like her best and when I bring her out, even without a kitted out, finished build, I feel like she goes about wrecking face (except against single, harder targets lol). And for the record, I have answered a lot of questions both here and on discord (and probably in game) where I have been wrong--it happens! My brain likes to jumble shit up and misremember things. Doesn't mean you can't/shouldn't ever answer any questions when it comes to the game. Thank you for putting so much time and energy into keeping the Theme Teams going--I know that it can't always be easy and that it's probably exhausting at times. ❤️ I love our casual little group, and I love doing the themes and seeing how everyone interprets them.
  11. The core of what MM's do is still pretty much the same. Yes, bodyguard and such is still a thing. Here is a link to some numpad binds: New MM changes can be read about here: Much of your general questions can probably be answered here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/44-guides/ Don't forget to pay a visit to Yomo: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/20275-yomos-whizbang-potpourri-extravaganza-of-a-giveaway/ And unfortunately I can't help with slotting as I don't really make builds; I just sort of read and slot things based on feel (or guess on occasion) because I'm a casual scrub, lol. Hopefully others can pitch in there for you. Your basics stay the same though--necro personal attacks don't require anything special to spawn the ghost dudes--so things like accuracy, damage, end redux, etc. are still good to go with until you're ready to do sets. Welcome home!
  12. That would make sense; good point!
  13. No need to click on a pet, correct. And how many spirits it summons is dependent on how many of your henchmen are still alive at time of summons.
  14. The only thing I'm going to say in response to this is: Not every powerset needs to be good on every AT. Mind Control is better on Doms than Controllers, for example. Symphony is better on controllers specifically because the powers function more like blasts--in a sense--want you to stay at range to leverage the cones, and want to fire the Symph powers as often as possible. To the other stuff, I'm obviously not an expert in that area, so hopefully you'll see something from the Devs or something.
  15. I know I'm repeating myself here, but since folks don't seem to be reading the other posts in here: Storm Cell's "follow" mechanic was added only for flavor and is not considered a core function of the power. If you really need the power to move faster, you need to recast it. I think once more people start playing the set with that in mind, they might find it more enjoyable. Also, while leveling, a recharge SO/IO or two are all that's needed to keep it perma so you can recast it wherever you need it, whenever you need it.
  16. Turned my Symphony/Fire Dom into a siren. This is Sirena Ashe and a small collection of her looks, from my version of the sort of more "monstrous" siren look to a couple that look more "human." And since there's no water assault, she lures foes into a fiery doom instead of a watery one lol.
  17. I kept seeing the Thermal AoE heal go off and at first thought maybe Midnyte had it on her Sent. Then I realized it wasn't her and was like, wait, we have a Thermal but no Thermal shields? xD Though interestingly, I recall you saying you had both heals on your build, which seemed an odd choice for a solo build since one of them is a single target ally only heal. I mean, I suppose the shields could be considered skippable, but I'd only imagine that's at higher level play, though folks typically can't/don't cap resistance. The clear mind like power is considered skippable by most though if you want to free up that power pick for something else. Edit: Also, the ITF is my favorite TF, super bummed to have to miss next week. Love the theme as well. Good luck y'all!
  18. LIke Wavicle said, you aren't getting the most benefit from Storm Cell and Cat 5 if you also aren't using your storm attacks; your attacks are what make them proc and do their thing to the full extent.
  19. It has already been stated that Storm Cell moving was added for flavor and not as a core part of the mechanic. Want it to move faster? Slap recharge in it and cast it off CD on the next group.
  20. Storm/Storm is just one of those "too obvious" pairings for me, and genuinely doesn't interest me, personally, lol. From my time spent in beta I am looking to roll: Storm/Dark Corruptor - finally found a combo that fits my forum namesake in a way I like, and these two powersets have good synergy. And you don't have to wait until late game for it to start feeling good. Storm/TA Blaster and/or Storm/Fire Blaster - TA for semi-obvious reasons; it keeps a more ranged playstyle and glue arrow will help keep things in Cell/Cat 5 while oil slick arrow provides extra AoE damage. /Fire started as something of a joke from the gold standard discord, but /Fire brings a lot of extra AoE (some of which is passive) that Storm Blast is lacking when Cell/Cat 5 might not be down/available. /Fire is less safe and quite squishy, but the potential seems interesting. Storm/Elec Sentinel - I see this is becoming quite the popular combo, lol! This pairing is all about thematics for me and my brief testing of it seemed like it should play nice as well. I can't decide if I'll make a defender, if I do, it will be team oriented as I'm currently trying to solo a defender in beta and it's miserable since you don't get Storm Cell until level 10. Plus, since Storm's gimmick is effects that ramp up, it really gives more benefit to corruptors since that's more of their style with Scourge.
  21. So... I'm fairly certain that a lot of what you're complaining about is actually Symphony WAI. I may be wrong on some of the powers, but the confuse and pet were discussed *ad nauseam* during the last beta. The pet has no powers of its own--it is designed to copy you/your powers; you cast, it casts. If you need a refresher, check out the Symphony thread from the Page 5 beta. Symphony doesn't play like other control sets, and that's a good thing! It's a fun powerset where you actually want to slot most of its powers for damage rather than control (especially the stun one, it hits like a freight train for a control power). Symphony is also a set that plays better on controllers than doms due to the nature of the set.
  22. HIghlighting the bolded part because that is *exactly* how the movement portion of Storm Cell is supposed to be seen. It is not intended to be a core part of the power's intended use and was added for flavor.
  23. Yeah, as much as I love Beasts, with the new MM changes, they've gotten left behind, sadly. I think your Tier list seems pretty accurate @Yaliw
