So she's a riot. She's 37 now, she hits like a TRUCK and her build has yet to come in full bloom. Properly macro-ed, combat teleport is pure love to play and this character is an ode to single-target demolition. It's insane how much fun I have with her. And this is Energy Aura. I can't even imagine how brutal EM must be with Bio or Shield. Really tempted to start one with /Shield but I suspect that the Endurance cost of EM and Shield must be completely insane.

This is why the system is optional, You hate it. I couldn't live without it. We both get what we want. Champions online... now THERE was a game that failed hard. It looked at everything CoH did correctly and went running the other way, screaming about vegetables.

I honestly have no frame of reference, I don't have a high level scrapper. I'm honestly just being a copycat and doing what everyone else is doing. I guess I need to get her to 50 and find out for myself. You know what they say: A hundred theoretical builds aren't worth one real character 🙂 Edit: So I decided to test the proc thing and went with this. We'll see what happens. That's an interesting take. You have much higher defensive numbers in there but next to zero procs. How's your damage output? Satisfactory?
-
I dunno. Moonbeam sounded fun. I have played this game forever but always new alts so I'm a total cluless newbie when it comes to high-end things 🙂
-
Hm. hm. hm. You got me thinking about lots in there. I replaced Barrage for Energy Punch, I wasn't really decided on either. Now, with hasten and proper slotting, Whirling hands becomes available every 4.7 secs or so. Let's make it into a proc engine. Makes the cone attack a bit redundant, so I might just skip it to get me something else and better. How would you slot Moonbeam if you could have a full 6 slots for it? I'm not even sure it makes sense. I've played so little with Epic pools... I'll edit my original post with the build with two unselected powers in it, see if people can have ideas. Oh and this character is already in her 30s so low levels is not an issue. As foe exemplaring... yeah, I guess.

When EM was completely revisited for scrappers, I decided to make me a EM/EA with Fold space so she would never lack any friends to play with. I played her intensely yesterday and today, she's coming along quite nice so I wrote her a build based on @Sovera's Rad/EA scrapper build posted a bit ago, because Sovera is awesome and has the adorablest avatar ever. So the numbers are quite similar, good defense all around, very decent resists. I skipped Focused Accuracy but it's super easy to spec in if needed. I took one more attack on that build (compared to Sovera's Rad) because the EM attacks all mesh together so well. Also: I'm a sucker for ATOs but considering how this scrapper does not have a damage aura, I wasn't quite sure how to use them so I kept the "Critical Strikes goes on your longest recharge attack" while I put Scrapper's strike on the quickest attack. This build is extremely poor on procs, I didn't want to waste too many set bonuses. EM is a lot of slow, hard hitting attacks so, I'm questioning the pertinence of heavy-proccing everything. Sooooo... fellow scrappers, let's hear your thoughts! Huh. I just got Concentrated strike and even with just 1 Acc IO, it hits like a truck. Also: the Matrix is strong with this one. Just for conceptual reasons, I think I'm in love.

Do Mercenaries do anything better than the other pet types?

I also take my time to read everything and enjoy the show. I'd team with someone like you in a heartbeat. Also: you listen to Zathras. What's not to like.

Extremely valuable knowledge all around! Thank you!! This gives me a better idea as to how use MMs in general, and how to customize My Beasts and Bots MMs in particular. And it makes me want to try a Thug MM, though I don't know what to pair it with. Poison? Storm? Elec? I honestly have no idea. You guys truly are rock stars! Thank you!!

Hello, fellow henchmen-leading enthusiasts. I've been present in these parts of the forum as of late, showing a keen interest in the profession of sending happy little critters to do my bidding until they get exploded taking care of carefully chosen associates who expect nothing more than a strong sense of leadership. My Beast/Dark is in her mid 30s, easy to play, Animals already know which parts to bite and to be fair, summoning the unholy powers of the nether to cripple your enemies is like driving a Buick: it's never breath-taking but it's smooth, it's reliable and people look you strangely when you pass them in a school zone. My Bots/Time is in her mid 20s. Even easier. Time makes everything go by so slowly, I have all the time in the world to see my happy little metallic friends miss most of their attacks. 0_o Moving on. Right. The point of this topic: In order to fully appreciate the profession, I want to know what the heck I'm doing. I've been seeing words like: Supremacy. (which is, as I gathered, a super happy buff pets have when they're close to me. It's like my kids. When they're close to me, they think they can get away doing all sorts of inane crap). Pet Auras. (You lost me there). Mule powers. (My beast MM only summons wolves and lions. I have no idea what a mule would do in the thick of a fight). Bodyguard mode. (Aren't these happy bundle of pixels already doing all that is possible to them to keep me alive?) "Hey, boss is getting fragged by a RASEREI UBERMENSCHEN, should we help? Nah... this is my break." (Also, if the 5th column poses a threat to you at any point of your life, you deserve to have your minions quit on you). Not all procs are desirable. (You lost me there, again. I thought procs were the coolest thing ever next to bourbon and ginger ale). So, in short, is there a source of info for all that somewhere? Problem with CoH is that it's an old game so people assume that we're already all super knowledgeable. So while I could talk your ear off about scrappers and brutes, I really need some master to my mind. Thank you.

I can't believe that no one on my shard thought it would be funny to call a villain "Oh noes". Well, it's taken now 😄 Edit: And, might I say, the costume randomizer really agreed with the name.

Yomo's Whizbang Potpourri Extravaganza of a Giveaway!

Now that is just not true. I can name you at least... THREE movies that were of less quality. (Seriously I always loved that dumb movie) -

Time is on my side! A MM /Time guide for all primaries. Now with updates!
Aeroprism replied to Warlawk's topic in Mastermind
I know that this is borderline thread necromancy but hey: -It's a sticky -MMs have necromancy as a powerset So there. I always wanted to try a bots MM and this topic made me choose Time as my secondary. Great stuff so far but the build (builds) there all date from before the latest changes, namely to travel powers. Do we have an updated version of this somewhere? I started dabbling with the build originally posted there but I still don't really master the science involved. Also: wouldn't it be smart to have one of the MM's rifle attacks in there to help the bots? Like the AOE grenade? (Honest but clueless question here). Anwyays, Fun combo to play so far! Edit: sentences need verbs to make sense. -

😄 😄 I made the same comparison when I talked to him. I said "You're Amazon, I'm the village grocer" 😄

I'm good at the auction house game. I'm VERY good at the auction house game. None of my alts will ever need anything, I have all the inf I need. I'm just not "here's 8 billions in a fingersnap" good. You know?
-
Dude... Where does all this inf come from. You are something else!
-
@Sovera your dedication to your various fire tanks is commendable 🙂 I will honestly need to try one. Well, I have my Fire/Staff (my only 50 beside my farmer) but I never managed to make him functional (yes you gave me a build which I need to try). So back to stalking, this gal here is getting more levels, pretty fun to play. I'm starting to work on her defense now and I find myself starved for a complete build. What do you guys usually do? Work the build as you go, or plan straight from level 1 to level 50? Pardon my creative English, not my first language and I just woke up, still in pre-coffee mode.

@Killerhawk When you look real quick, and I mean REAL quick, he looks like he has this epic dark beard. The Pirate-Ninja. We finally found him.

Beast/Dark, looks solid to me, could perhaps be improved on?
Aeroprism replied to Aeroprism's topic in Mastermind
Wow. this gal used to die. All the time. I tested the build at level 32 and though it's still brutally incomplete, she rocked a +0x4 Devouring Earth mission and we can agree that the DE are NOT an easy group to learn a new build. With a full build she will be a machine. Very hectic playstyle, always something to do. Though I don't think that I need to work on +rech as much as necessary on most characters. Most of her useful powers ar on a very short timer. Perhaps I could put my efforts somewhere else? But yeah, it's end-challenged, big time. Call Raven is a END sink and sticking only Procs in there might not be the shiniest idea for the moment. So, what would be the mastermind anti-thesis of this? This is hectic and single target, melee damage. So the opposite would be ... Bots? And... what secondary? FF? -

Aeroprism replied to Aeroprism's topic in Mastermind
@StrikerFox seriously, THANK YOU. I really like the way you explain everything, it will help me in my future builds! Now let's see how I can improve this little guy here. Another thing: When it says "MezResist[whatever] 60%", what does it mean? I know that mezzes are usually quantified by "mag" applied but this is a flat % number so it is like ... defense? 60% of the time, the mez "misses"? Another other thing! : The 10% resist from Sovereign Right I put on my Wolves, does it affect ALL my pets, only these pets, or only the Mastermind?
