Well, it's not letting me post the second build, I'll try it as an attachment. Looks like a minor bug in the new forum software? Sentinel - Jane Wick - Dual Pistols - Dark Armor.mxd
-
The first builds caps S/L RES, and PSI RES, other RES are decent, from 32%-54%, defenses are from 23%-33%. RECH is nothing special, the rest of the build just tries to generate DMG with the set selection. The second build has S/L RES at 69%, the others are slightly higher. DEF is lower from 20% up to 24%. RECH is much higher, I put Force Feedback in all five powers that would take it. Hasten is almost Perma without the FF proc. With the FF proc it gets very fast. If two of them proc, +RECH is 360%. This build is certainly not up to "proc monster" standards, but it does rely on them quite a bit. What I've noticed from playing my Sentinel so far, I tend to always be in a group. I have so many other builds that are so much better solo, there's just no point in trying to shoe-horn soloing into this role. @Werner That was my guess, but one of the cool things I noticed about Energy Aura was it has quite a lot of DEF DEBUFF resist. Kinetic Shield, Power Shield and Entropic Aura all offer some kind of DEF DEBUFF mitigation. In the build I posted above I tried to get better REC, but I don't know if it's worth it?

With smashing and lethal defenses over 60%, aren't both of the builds *way* over the soft cap, even for Incarnate content? I couldn't help myself, so, rather than play the game, I played Mids'! Some differences: Higher Recharge: Is it overkill? I'm not sure, but I put force feedback in Soaring Dragon and Golden Dragonfly, one of them should proc, but with the procs turned off, still has perma-Hasten. Divine Avalanche only helps with Melee and Lethal Defenses. I think this works better with a secondary that is chasing positional DEF, or as a way to give RESIST sets some splash of DEF. We aren't doing that with Energy Aura, so I swapped it for Flashing Steel, a decent cone with better damage. Smashing and Lethal Defenses are not as good as the above builds, but still 51% Smashing and Lethal. Are the other DEF are good enough? I'm not sure. Smashing & Lethal Resists are 63%, REGEN 328%, Recharge 171%, not including procs and other gimmicks. Occasionally, RECH could get as high as 370%(!) Overall DMG is better. This build is VERY expensive. 4 purple sets, 2 Winter Sets, 1 ATO set. This is where 50% of the RECH bonus lives. Plus all the other cool things those sets do. Should I bother with Celerity in Sprint? I did 2-slot to give me 2.25% S/L Resist. My Spines/Fire Farmer's attack chain is Ball Lightning - Spine Burst - Burn - Electrifying Fences. In comic con, you're usually surrounded and messing with cones is not very different from single target. My clear times are usually about 5:30. There is a farming thread with several builds advantages/disadvantages of power sets. Really, anything you want to know about farming. I found it very helpful. Here's the link to the thread:

I'm looking for something similar. I haven't played Ice Armor before, so, I can take most any build and adapt it to what I need.
-
Is there any functional difference between the teleporters, or are the only differences cosmetic? Might be worth noting that the base editor will let you link more than nine porters, but only the first nine will work. I wasted so much time on this before I found your guide.

Minor edit: Section #3 says that the porter can have ten items assigned to it, I believe the correct number is nine? "The beacons, up to ten per teleporter, can be placed anywhere...above the porter, behind it, buried in the floor, wherever...as long as they are within range." This is a wonderful guide, and I love the writing style. Thank you!

I was looking for a fire/kin build that was relatively durable, good control and decent damage. I've managed to hit S/L DEF soft-cap at 48% and Resist at 44.5%. Perma-Hasten and with Siphon Speed, it gets even better. Fire Imps have a proc for KD, and have a quick enough recharge that replacing them shouldn't be a problem. More KD comes from Sudden Acceleration. Hibernate provides a good "Oh $%!t" button. It has a few ways to generate Holds and for more control, Comments about the Frozen Epic Pool? I can also go Mace Master with almost no changed. See any other tweaks? What about Mace vs Ice Mastery? @Frostweaver, good questions. Thanks. For this blaster, I've been sitting back at range hovering and just firing into the crowd. It will almost always team up with others. I would love to be able to stealth missions, but I couldn't find a way to fit it in. So far, with Afterburner, I'm able to get my DEF up high enough to just fly past trouble. But once I get to the final location, results are mixed with being able to find a spot to Assemble The Team. Attack chain depends on the situation, of course, but generally: Single Target: Aimed Shot > Blazing Arrow > Ranged Shot, then I'll use the TA debuffs as needed and as available. As well as bonfire. AoE attack chain is to open with Flash Arrow (usually before the mob is actually engaged), then Rain of Arrows > Explosive Arrow > ESD Arrow > Ice Arrow on a boss and maybe Flash Arrow or Glue Arrow depending on my mood. I'm finding that generally, things die so fast that Rain of Arrows is often a waste if I don't fire it off immediately. So attack chain really looks like "Fire one or two AoEs, then single target chain to mop up (and maybe bonfire and flash arrow because they're fun)." I went ahead and slotted this most of the way out. I'm missing some Purple and Archtype sets. The Resists and DEF are mostly complete. Before this build, my highest DEF was 12%, the others were single digits. Resists were similarly weak. Last night I ran ITF and Market Crash with no problems on full teams. In one of the ITFs, the party was getting wiped except me and the Tank. I dropped Bonfire, and we were able to give the rest of the team enough breathing room to pop wakies and get sorted out. I did draw aggro a couple of times and was able to survive it pretty easily. This is definitely not a Blapper build. I am looking for ways to do more damage, so more like a "Plexi-Glass Cannon"?

Thank you for the help, I appreciate it. Yep. They slot procs into flash arrow. I accidentally blindly followed a build I found here. And imagine my surprise when Flash Arrow started drawing aggro. But, that's what led me to respec into this build anyway. So, all in all, possibly not a bad deal. When I was drafting this build, I tried it with the Fighting pool, but I wasn't able to find a way for it to fit. What powers would I swap out to get the fighting pool? Maneuvers, because I'm also maxed on pool powers, Afterburner, but I've got a LoTG there. Does anyone see anything I can do to increase DPS? Either DMG or RECH?

I wanted to focus a bit more on the damage with some survive ability. Ranged DEF is 41%, not capped, but good. Smashing and Lethal Resistances are 32%, decent but not maxed. RECHARGE is 181%, pretty good I think, but I'm looking for a way to make it better. And Damage is +21%. I'm asking for help finding any gaps or ways to improve it? My play style for this toon is to sit back and launch DAMAGE and then occasionally debuff. In playing this, I like the way Ice Arrow and ESD Arrow will stack, especially if there's someone else with Hold in the group. I've seen people load up Flash Arrow with procs, but I tend to just use Flash Arrow before the fight starts, so I'd rather it didn't do damage. But, if it's much better slotted for Damage, I'm willing to change my play style. I tried it with Scorpion Shield from Mace Mastery, but it just capped Ranged DEF and dropped my RES to single digits. I think the balance between them would be better. I LOVE Bonfire with KD in it. But again, if it increases my DPS, I'm willing to change it. Thanks everyone for your help! Comments, thoughts, suggestions?

@oOStaticOo I think you're going to hate fighting Rikti with that build. But a lot of interesting things going on with it. You're DEFenses are pretty low, most are 11% or 15% and AoE is 20%. Resists are S/L 90%, Energy and fire also 90%, Negative & Toxic 77%, Cold 57% and Psionic is 24%. Cold doesn't matter much, there just isn't a lot of it out there. But Psi and Negative are very common, and some of the incarnate stuff will splash in Toxic just to make you miserable. If you're chasing DAMage, I would swap out Defensive Sweep for Crushing Blow and Follow Through is an important piece of your single target attack chain. I basically have two attack chains (in the order I tend to use them): Single Target - Rend Armor, Crushing Blow, Follow Through Multi-Target - Titan Sweep, Arc of Destruction, Whirling Smash I find that generally, the animations and recharges work out pretty well, and I am trying to find ways to splash in Build Momentum more often. Also, I will switch from Multi-Target to Single Target as often as I can, it saves a lot of endurance. Why I stopped using Defensive Sweep: +11% DEF Smashing & Melee (NOT Smashing & Lethal, like I originally thought it was.) And Light DMG. Playing it on my L50 Scrapper, I was much happier with the damage of Crushing Blow to a single target. For me, it just fits better. I put the Fury of the Gladiator -RES on Whirling Smash. I've been very surprised by how big the area/range of that attack is. Arc of Destruction sometimes knocks them back a little bit, but whirling smash seems to always reach them. It's a fun combo because it just looks so...heroic. I might take off Maneuvers for something else. It's only 3.4% +DEF, I'm not sure that makes much of a difference. Meltdown might be worth it, it's a very slow recharge, but the crash isn't really noticeable. That might be a decent "Oh !@#$" button. On my Scrapper, I have Meltdown and Shadow Meld (not available for Brute/Tank). I find that between those, if I'm doing a more difficult fight they work well in tandem. Several of the attacks do over 500pts of damage, double that when I crit. I hope this helps.

I found this from the other thread for Katana/? that you cross posted to. Many of my comments are over there. Kuji-In Retsu isn't worth it. Your DEF is already soft-capped, the recharge is 16 minutes, it lasts 3 minutes and the crash is 100% of your endurance. If you want an "oh $%^&" button, consider the Epic Soul Mastery power Shadow Meld. It give +20% to all defenses, lasts 15s, recharges in 37s and no crash. But really, you could just keep a purple and an orange handy in your Inspiration tray. Leadership Pool: I tried Maneuvers and I found that the Leadership pool powers were just too -END heavy for me. I would take them down to conserve End, and then not put them up. Combined with Hasten, it was hard for me to keep my endurance up, even with Incarnates and IO sets. Some other things I like about Ninjitsu: It doesn't really take that many slots to soft-cap your positional defenses. +END and +HEAL powers. Only 7 of the 9 powers are "must have," leaving a couple of extra slots to do whatever you want to with it. Things that make it balanced: ENDurance is a challenge. It's hard to get perma-Hasten, but you can come close. And you have to remember to activate Hasten because you're probably going to want to auto-activate Kuji-In Rin (+RES status effects and PSI).

FWIW, I got my Psionic Melee/Ninjitsu scrapper up to 50. Endurance problems the whole way. Once I slotted out with my sets and as I added a couple of Incarnate powers, the Endurance problems mostly went away. I still have to use Seishinteki Kyoyo (+END) pretty regularly, but it recharges about every 20 seconds, so it's always ready. Positional Defenses are all soft-capped M/R/AoE (51%/48%/46%). Smash/Lethal Resistances are at the cap at 77.6% (Psi is at 48%, Toxic is 36%, others are <30%). Combine this with Kuji-In Sha (+Heal) up every 20 seconds, and she never dies, unless I (literally) fall asleep at the keyboard. I've been in the middle of fights, and gone to the kitchen to get a drink and come back with no one the wiser. Some things I've noticed. I don't auto-Hasten like I do on every other Toon I have. If I do, I have to pay more attention to Endurance, the -End of Hasten is enough to make me get in trouble if I don't pay attention. Because of this, my damage output probably isn't what it should be. But, Ninjitsu is easily my favorite Scrapper/Stalker set. I'm not leveling up Katana and Titan Weapons to see how they play. Katana is almost done, it doesn't seem to have nearly the End. problems and the damage output looks better for groups, but my defenses are just slightly lower (about 1-2%). TW is too early to tell. Note that I don't take Kuji-In Retsu (the MoG Tier 9 power). It only comes up every 16 minutes and can't be -Recharged and lasts for 3 minutes with a 100% -End crash. If you want a big +DEF, I think it's MUCH better to take Shadow Meld (from Epic Soul Mastery), it gives a +20% buff to all defenses for 15s, recharge is only 37s and no crash. With all your DEF soft-capped anyway, this could get you over the hump if facing something with -DEF. I've found with my existing Psi Melee/Ninja, that I never use these powers anyway. But I do use the Moonbeam or Dark Blast quite often. Looking at other sets, I haven't found anything that I can soft cap defenses, with a +Heal and +End. It's the toughest Scrapper set I've found. But, it is an Endurance pig that you can overcome through sets and Incarnate Powers.

If I look at @TacoHammer's build, vs @Hyperstrike's build, @TacoHammer was able to get Smash, Lethal, Fire, Cold and Melee, all near the soft-cap. Energy and Negative are 41%, Psionic is the only one that's "low" at 22.4%. For Resists, Smash, Lethal, Energy, Fire and Toxic are 90%, Negative at 83%, only Cold (48%) and Psionic (40.5%). In @Hyperstrike's build, Defenses are pretty negligible, the highest is 13%, and only the Cold and Psionic Resists are higher. All this to ask, is it worth it to give up all that Defense for two Resists? And, I just now noticed that @Hyperstrike's first build is for a Brute, not a Tank, so It's going to do more Damage. But the base damage, as I do a quick spot check, is pretty similar and as expected the Brute's damage is a little bit higher.

First of all, thank you for your help and comments, I really appreciate it. @MacharielI think the idea is that the Build Up procs when you cast PA. And since you're casting it about every 60 seconds, it comes around often enough to make it worth while. So, am I understanding this advice and other the guides I have read suggestions on these powers? Don't take: Deceive (Agreed, I think it's useless too. But I did read one old guide that went into ridiculous depth about why it was so great). Flash (It works well, but the objection here is to the very slow recharge (4 minutes)? Group Invisibility Choking Cloud (I like the way it works slotted with Unbreakable Constraint and +2 Mag Hold from Lockdown), but it is an endurance hog. What's the objection to it from @Extor Prime & @Doomguide2005 above? And without Choking Cloud, the Unbreakable Constraint would move to Blind with Javelin's proc in the 6th slot. Fallout (Too situational.) Do take: Illusion Control Spectral Wounds Blind Superior Invisibility Phantom Army Spectral Terror Phantasm Radiation Emission Radiant Aura Radiation Infection Accelerate Metabolism Enervating Field Mutation Lingering Radiation EM Pulse (for the -Regen, how to slot it? 4 Basilisks for the 7.5% recharge?) Mace Mastery Poisonous Ray (for -Resist) Scorpion Shield (for DEF) Summon Tarantula (for Toxic Damage) Pool Powers Hasten Combat Jumping Boxing, Tough, Weave Then pick one: Leadership, whatever fits? Fly, & Hover (to slot in a LotG) Recall Friend to stealth missions Incarnate?

So this is my L50 Ill/Rad controller. I was able to cap some defenses, get perma Phantom Army, and get the powers the forums says I should have. Problem is, she's not very good. I can't seem to solo EBs or much of anything. I was able to fight a Rikti Pylon in RWZ, after 10 minutes, I gave up, it was a draw. It couldn't hurt me, but I was not able to do any meaningful damage to it either. Suggestions? I'm looking at Rad/Rad mainly for overlapping AoE in a scrapper or Stalker build, and it looks like Rad Armor's Radiation Therapy is one of the few places to get -Regen in a melee-type. If I understand Mids' correctly, it's -150% The only other that I could find: Bio Armor - DNA Siphon (-100%) I'm looking for the -Regen because I want to try to solo AVs, and from everything I've read so far, -Regen is critical to that. I couldn't find any other Scrapper or Stalker powers with -Regen. Did I miss one? I made an Ill/Rad Controller, that's at 50 and fully slotted, and that toon cannot solo anything yet. I'm going to try again after some Incarnate powers are more fully slotted. I can damage Rikti Pylons, and they don't do anything to me, but after 10 minutes, I don't make any progress. They heal too fast for me.

Once more, with enthusiasm! Katana/Ninja Ok, I edited this build with a new one. I got rid of the Epics from the above build and replaced with Flashing Steel and Divine Avalanche. This also differentiates it more from the Psi build above. I thought it was interesting that in Mids', the two cones are identical in damage, recharge and endurance, but one just gives a DEF boost. This build gives two melee approaches, one is single target heavy the other has two cones + one AoE, I think it's interesting for being in the thick of a big mob. Defenses and S/L Resists are still capped. But it doesn't have an "Oh ****" button. But, why need it when everything around you is already "sleeping?" Because you put them to sleep. With your sword. Dang it. Wrong build. Well, FWIW, there's a Psi/Ninjitsu? I'll go find the right one and repost. I don't know what the etiquette is here, do I delete the Psi/Ninjitsu post or just go get the right one?

Made some more changes. I had LotG in here 5 times, per Mid's, only the first 4 will work. I now have Def M/R/AoE over the soft-cap and Resist S/L now are capped. I changed Shinobi's set from Red Fortune to Reactive Defense and this sort of freed up two slots. I think endurance drain looks good 1.22/s and Recovery 2.84/s I'm not 100% sold on Shadow Meld, but it recharges a LOT faster than Kuji-In Retsu and soft-caps all of my defenses (take THAT Rikti scum). Duration is 15 seconds, so should be a good oh **** button. And, there's no crash. Took out fly, kept Recall Friend for ghosting missions and general quality of life. Had room to just add Teleport as a travel power and that unlocked Long Range Teleport, so, overall an acceptable compromise. I guess if I just *had* to have flying, I could give up the Teleport pool, but what would I replace it with? Fly, Summon Widow (for LOLs), and what? I slotted Rectified Reticle +Perception into Concentration, but no other recharge. As is, it's at 40 sec. recharge. With a Recharge IO, it only drops to 35 seconds. For me, I'll take the 20% perception bonus. But does that help vs things like Smoke Bombs? FWIW: I think I may not be playing much CoH in the future, I've found this new game that is taking up all my time, it's called Mids Reborn? Anyway, here's the new improved version. Good to know. I was going based on the description in Mids-Pines. It says you can't use CJ and Shinobi at the same time. But, when I configured it that way, it let me run both at the same time. So, my next question would be: Do I get rid of something else to make room for CJ, or is having all of the positional defenses capped enough? I guess from your comment above, you'd just swap out Fly for CJ? But, do I need it? For reference, here is the in-game description of Shinobi-Iri: "Shinobi Iri are the ninjitsu techniques of silent movement and infiltration. These skills allow you to move at high speed, whether on the ground or leaping from rooftop to rooftop. This power also grants you defense against all positional attacks. While stealthed, you have a very high chance of landing a critical attack, however you can only attempt this after spending 20 seconds without attacking. This power cant be used at the same time as other stealth powers." And just to make sure I understand the stealth in sprint comment, you're talking about putting Celerity +Stealth into sprint and managing how Celerity procs to get the Stealth bump?

Thoughts? With Shinobi-Iri, some of the normal defense pool powers don't stack, like Hover and Combat Jumping. Left some slotting I'm not sure is being used very well. Divine Avalanche is +DEF to Melee and Lethal, with Melee already capped, not much use to Lethal so I went with Flashing Steel for a better cone attack with Damage. Kuji-In Retsu (this set's MoG), seems unnecessary, M/R/AoE are over 90%. Summon Widow also seems unnecessary. Is Shinobi-Iri good enough stealth that I can ghost missions and recall the team to the end of them like a Stalker can? Defenses: Soft-Capped Melee/Ranged/AoE Resistances: Smash/Lethal 65.6%, Psionics 48% This build does not have the Incarnate powers. It does use Rogue Epics. Looking for suggestions please?
