When I run my characters gold side I level up to 10 and turn off xp until I complete all mission arcs in Nova/Underground. When I move over to Imperial City I turn xp back on until I hit 15 then it is off again until I complete all arcs in Imperial City/Underground. Then on to Neutropolis/Underground where I turn off xp at level 20 until the arcs are complete. I go through all story lines (Warden, Crusader, Responsibility, and Loyalist) on each character, switching alignments as needed along the way. It is important to note that when you are aligned Loyalist you cannot access the Crusader arcs or contacts (Underground Resistance contacts), and when you are aligned Resistance you cannot access the Power arcs or contacts. On one recent playthrough I switched to Resistance in Nova before completing Reese's solo mission which removed the mission from my list. I kept xp off (at level 10) and went to Imperial City and completed the Crusader arc (Hatchet/Beholder/Vagabond/Wardog) and changed sides to Imperial then went back to Nova and completed Reese's final mission. I lost access to the mission because my alignment was wrong but was able to complete it once I changed alignment because I had not leveled past 10. The other thing to be aware of in trying to do all of the arcs is that certain contacts are killed during other story arcs and if you do not complete the missions from that contact before he dies you will not be able to get the accolades (Rising Star and/or True to the Last). Redlynne has a good guide that was linked above that details the contacts to be careful with in this regard. There is also some good info on the Wiki for all of the Praetorian contacts and missions. Be careful when you get to Neutropolis as Calvin Scott has missions that will skip Crow and Helix if started too early. Also, in Imperial City Underground, Vagabond will send you to see Wardog even though he has one more mission to complete. Make sure you complete all of Vagabond's missions before you level to 16 or you will miss out on the Rising Star badge. Have fun gold side, the stories are great! Just be wary of the third mission in Bobcat's arc ;)

I have done the 1-20 Praetorian arcs on over 30 characters and never had a problem. There are other reasons aside from level that will cause contacts to stop talking, usually based on your given alignment at the time or if the contact was killed during a previous arc. You are more than welcome to turn off xp at earlier levels but in my experience having the extra attacks and slots is beneficial. Also note, you do not need to be introduced to a contact. As long as your alignment is correct you can walk up and introduce yourself just fine. This actually makes it easier in Neutropolis as talking with Calvin Scott can have you take his mission arc out of order which can really screw up the Crusader arc for those trying to get the badge.

You can have all my ignore slots. I don't use them.

Looks more like a brook...

Or you can always just run past the ghouls unstealthed, once you leave their aggro range they do not follow (except for certain ambushes which will find you regardless of stealth).

Some things that would help to know: 1. What are your Primary and Secondary? 2. What powers have you chosen so far? 3. What server are you on?

I have run through Praetoria on Blasters, Brutes, Corruptors, a Defender, a Dom, Scrappers, and a Tank. I am currently running through a Stalker and it is by far the easiest run of all. I always do all arcs (for the badges) so I spend a lot of time stuck at level 10, 15, and 20 with xp turned off. Because I don't really care about xp at that point I tend to avoid a lot of the trash mobs (especially Clockwork and Ghouls) by simply running past them (they may take a pot shot or two but unless there is an ambush they do not follow). The only time I do a kill all is when it is required for the mission and thankfully there are few of those in Praetoria. edit: Forgot I have a couple of Sentinels going through as well (20 characters in all are Goldside)

Heard from Resistance fighters during an ambush in Praetoria: Resistance Recruit(1): Go! Resistance Recruit(2): Wolverines! Resistance Recruit(3): W....what? Resistance Recruit(4): Really? Resistance Recruit(5):: Wolverines?

I am curious as to why people find Praetoria (1-20) difficult. The enemy groups are generally easier to deal with (clockwork are ranged only, no Vahz toxic damage, no CoT/Tsoo annoyances), the sewers are way easier to navigate, there are no 'layer cake' caves (no caves at all for that matter), and the xp gain is so much faster. The story lines in Praetoria are so much more engaging and better written than most anything in the original game. What is causing people grief Gold-side? Let us know, maybe we can help you through it.

The 1-20 Praetoria content really is not that difficult and is very solo friendly. You can run through most maps bypassing trash fights and seldom will anything follow you. There are a few missions with ambushes that can see through any stealth but only one that I can think of that is a legit faceplant threat (Bobcat I'm looking at you). My advice is to play whatever you want and enjoy the ride. If you find a mission is too tough either lower the difficulty to -1 or autocomplete.

If it helps, you can disable xp at levels 10, 15, and 20 to complete all missions. Getting the extra powers at 10 and 20 can make a difference.

I just bought 400 packs, haven't opened them yet, waiting for Christmas 😉

They don't get used upon opening a pack.

The Best Tank in the Game is a Bio Armor Stalker

No Defense Debuff Resistance, no taunt, low HP, low Defense, low Resist Damage, High Damage output. Sounds like a DPS class, not a Tank -
Resistance story arcs inaccessible. Please help.
Apogee replied to huang3721's topic in General Discussion
For future reference huang3721, you do not need to be introduced to a contact to start their arcs. Once you know the contact order for each part of Praetoria you can initiate contact on your own. Each zone is level locked as well, 1-10 for Nova, 10-15 for Imperial, and 15-20 for Neutropolis and contacts in those zones will no longer give missions once you exceed those levels. If you are trying to run all missions from all contacts (there is a badge for each zone) you will need to shut off XP at levels 10/15/20. Resistance Crusader contacts are almost all locked in the Underground Resistance bunkers and can only be accessed when you are actively siding with the Resistance (you have the blue Resistance chevrons). The Loyalist Deputy Assistant of Information is locked in a building only accessible when you are an active Loyalist (you have the gold Loyalist star). If you want to run all missions for all contacts, you can run three of the four zone contacts at once if you careful (some contacts will be killed during other contact arcs as you know, read the guide/wiki for spoiler info). Starting as Resistance you can run missions for Robert Flores, Ricochet, and Chief Interrogator Washington. You cannot run missions for Deputy Assistant of Information (and rest of Power) until you turn to Loyalist. Starting as a Loyalist you can run missions for Robert Flores, Chief Interrogator Washington and the Deputy Assistant of Information, but need to turn Resistance to run Ricochet (and rest of Crusader) missions. Basically you can do either Warden/Crusader/Responsibility or Warden/Responsibility/Power depending on your initial loyalty when starting a zone. I usually run the three arcs up until the final morality missions then figure out what order I want to do the final missions to get the right loyalty for starting the next zone (or for the finale). -
I was walking through a grocery store when the piped in music started playing 'Word Up' by Korn which made me think of this video (not a rickroll I promise). While doing my best (worst) Spider-Man 3 homage dance through the store (to many an odd look) I started thinking about CoH. As soon as I got home I looked up Titan Network's Hail Mary thread and was shocked to see all the hullabaloo about some secret server operating in the shadows. A few weeks (and a failed start or two) later I was logging in here.

Apogee replied to huang3721's topic in General Discussion
It is possible to begin Calvin Scott's arc at level 15 before you do Crow's and Helix's arcs. The problem is that you have Calvin in your active contacts since the first time you joined the Resistance. This allows you to contact Calvin for undercover missions while a Loyalist. If you are not aware of the correct order for doing the Neutropolis missions (as well as Steffard/Kang missions in Imperial City) it is possible to lock out a contact. Redlynne made an excellent guide to Praetorian content here. -

Did I miss something? Not a single call to nerf regen yet? For shame y'all, for shame. TL;DR nerf Regen -
It doesn't "pay" to play a support character
Apogee replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
Unless of course if you play a /Regen. -
Wait, you have your own personal bugbear?!? Is it trained?

I haven't played many Dominators so I started to think about playing one. The first name I came up with for my new Dom surprised me when it was available, Perignon. Now I need to figure out a fitting power combo. Maybe something chilled?
