Fix Rage across the board so you can also port it to scrappers. Do the math so OVER TIME it's the same DMG/TO-HIT bonus as a buildup that last a minute. Get rid of the -DEF crap and drop the 10s of hanging out doing nothing. Maybe x% less due to activation time only being once a minute compared to 4x times a minute as with build-up. It's a simple solution and doesn't change how Rage works. Only the numbers behind the curtain.

But if I don't ask, how will they know I can protect their door?
-
I dunno, if I'm not sucking wind even WITH Ageless, I don't see myself pushing the AT hard enough.
-
Funny, I've got WM/SD and WM/BIO experience. ATO2 Proc goes in clobber. I personally don't even bother taking PA any more (you get looked at as Bio in offensive mode then ur ded). I slot DNA Siphon with the Oblit set for the bonuses. The heal has rarely saved me. The SD version is way more survivable than Bio, but the tradeoff is damage. SD DOES get the awesomesauce Shield Charge (and the shield/mace look is AWESOME). Aid Self is a good self-heal for Shield.
-
Man, when they changed Clobber and gave it it's crazy DPA, I made a WM/SD that day. It's an underrated set and just FEELS good. And Shatter is sooooooo satisfying. The set just feels CHONKY. Got some time with it more. Now averaging 1:27, or 87s.
-
So, I made a WM/BIO and did some runs. Got a time in the low 1:20s and been averaging 1:30s. The combo chews end, holy crap.
-
This...makes a lot of sense. The build having the -res procs...proccing seem to be crucial. TW seems to be VERY dependent on the procs going off to really get those low low times. ElM seems to be really consistent for low times, and it IS faster, fastest ST DPS melee character I have. Now for me personally it's ElM/BIO then these next three doing roughly the same: TW, DB, and Claws. I haven't done WM/BIO but I suspect it would be in that group.
-
I always park my dudes in Cim for the rchg/res.
-
Was this a best time or an average? Cause I said "eff it" and made a TW/BIO/MA scrapper and get ranges from 73s to 100s. I've been averaging 85s but I got some really low times that had me go "hmm". The elm/bio time above is my average. And it doesn't have any wide ranges, really.

Electric Armor, kitted out for max incarnate stuff. You can literally res cap all (except toxic I think?). You get some really good debuff resistance too. Has a self heal, good HP/S. Not sure why I don't see more Electric Armor tankers (or brutes for that matter). Go any of the melee sets that have an attack that +DEF and just set it on auto and AFK. Here's a res capped to all (except toxic) ela/tw tanker I whippped together in a few minutes. Depends on what is "best" to you. Damage? Scrapper. By leaps and bounds. It isn't "slightly". It is measurable AND noticeable. There aren't many damage sets that favor one AT over another, DB isn't any different. You just have to decide what you value more. Damage? Survive? Or a blend of both? And to get the most damage out of DB, you actually want to ignore the combo system. Until you can run that chain, attack vitals.
-
Right? I've got a WICKED Doomslayer costume that I used to run the giant chainsaw sword with when I would play my TW characters.
-
What looks cooler? One or two swords? The two sets feel pretty different to me. DB does really good DPS if you ignore the combos. Katana does good DPS. Both have "meh" AOE. Can't go wrong with either.
-
Yea, that's why I loved TW so much. It reminded me of the optimal attack chain needed for certain classes in that one MMO by that company named after a cold storm. If you didn't know how to correct with missteps in the chain, it was just...OK. But the set really did flounder when someone missed something. But yeah, before shutdown, TW/ELE scrappers were king melee DPS.
-
Thanks for this. I've been really curious about TW these days in it's current state. I just spent the last...damn, decade, doing TW I don't see myself doing it again.
-
I'm definitely walking back my statement about EM not being best ST dps for scrappers. It's an average of 10s faster on pylon kills for me now.
-
2:50 for x/inv seems really good TBH. I'm tempted to put together a top times list for pylon runs. Sadly, going through 47 pages of posts is...not motivating. And for the list to be seen it would need it's own thread considering I don't think the OP for this one is really active.
-
Claws/Ele will be more damage for sure, and still really REALLY survivable (I love ela brutes, res cap slfce and softcap def for sl). Claws/Rad will still be a lot of damage but be more survivability. Both armors are freaking amazing on brutes. You can't go wrong with either. All comes down to what you value more. DPS or survivability. Both armors are awesome.
-
I'm getting around this with my claws/bio/ma, so yeah. Can confirm. I was getting in the 1:20s before the moonbeam nerf, It was pretty signifigant.
-
Wow. Stalker ninjitsu sucks compared to scrapper ninjitsu. Caltrops is pretty crap unless you like runners. Like, REALLY like runners.
-
Yup. Looking at it now. Scrap ninjitsu gets KB protection (5.19) with Bo Ryaku. Stalks got screwed.
-
When did this change happen for Ninjitsu? I have experience with it on stalkers.
-
Electric Armor Brutes are stupid hard to kill and have really good DPS for a reason. Capping SLFC resist and being SL defense soft capped with a lot of debuff resistance is pretty cool. ANd you get a damage aura. Oh, and a good heal and good regen.
-
A ninja having to take protection from falling down. It's freaking stupid. Nin melee has lots of neat tools that are in the grand scheme of things...useless. SR is just...GOOD.
