4 star looks like the raiding equivalent in other MMORPGs and I was never into it even when I was younger and more nimble. I only play for fun with groups not bust my head trying to absolutely maximize my build with summons and temporary powers and stuff. I doubt that is my thing. I will dodder around and still just join any group willing to have me. If I need some challenge I will try to solo some mission on harder difficulties but 4 star is way beyond me. I like making a gazillion alts.

It was in the Help channel and people were saying don't use this channel but the person who started the topic said he was helping others by telling them not to choose a Sentinel and regret it later at end game when doing 4 star content. Then people started saying why Sentinels were bad among which it was that they were the last picks and every other AT was better at what they did. But one person said they preferred a good Sentinel to a bad Blaster which is neither here nor there. Mostly it was because a well equipped AT would all perform better than a well equipped Sentinel. This is not something that concerns me as I already suffer from a feeling that I am unable to play well so I wasn't paying that much attention but some newer players started asking questions and I didn't follow after that. Look I know the AT was in a bad way before but I personally have seen an improvement after coming back. I am sorry if I have inadvertently picked at a scab here but really it was a passing comment and me and my big mouth had to mention it. I am sure in General channel they slag on every AT but I don't have General on my visible chat so this was of notice because it was in the Help channel.

I am not a hover fan. Never enjoyed moving around with it and only play with combat jumping. I am really clumsy with hover I keep running into wall lights and get stuck in some protrusion or another and have to back out then go back forward so I will lag behind. I already lag behind constantly and it is not as if I am not pressing the forward as hard as possible. I am always the last one into a mission as it is. Why does everyone move faster than me. Anyway hover is out but I picked up Storm, yeah, yeah I know but it is a fun set. I need to put one overwhelming force on my Jet Stream but otherwise it looks like an interesting set. It is rather an unexpected flavour and one I might enjoy. Has CC in spades. Yeah I am one for CC. My very first (well first of the ones I kept) on live was a gravity/empathy controller. I've just fallen in love with Sentinels and people were arguing on Excelsior yesterday that no one picks them for the end game groups. Well not that I ever expected to be picked as I am a really bad player but I play fun sets and what I enjoy. It used to be MMs I made like 30 different ones and when I came back recently I found I no longer relished playing them because I'm now using a controller to play so the fact that there are far more buttons to press it became a chore to manage so they have been relegated to another page or pages. Worst comes to worst I'll solo end game. Probably sobbing ''waaaaaaaa nobody wants me'' ever so often. I love changing secondaries and after swearing up and down I will not enjoy Bio fell in love with it but I need to have variety I never make two toons with the same secondary. I want to try a Beam Rifle build, may be paired with Stone Armour.

Everquest had a different way of defining the Holy Trinity because it was Warrior, Cleric and Enchanter. CC was king in Everquest. DPS was plentiful but these three classes was what every group ideally wanted. It made things rigid and difficult for hybrids and other classes. Playing a DPS I was often rueful of my choice.

Would you be good enough to take a crack at a Sentinel build for Water Blast/Bio because I am very interested in the slotting and and alternative IOs that might be used. In your debt for expanding your time to look at this and thank you in advance.

As a sentinel I am very interested in Water Blast since it works differently from my other Sentinels. I am however of the opinion I am not maximizing my damage potential and using the mechanics properly since I just started playing it. I think I also paired it with Bio and am therefore quite a busy bee what with trying to keep an eye on whether to use defensive or offensive adaptation. So far I have left it at balanced since I'm a little too busy in groups trying to keep the attacks and whirlpool up for the encounters. I would appreciate any advice on how to play this Water Blast/Bio build since it seems to be quite an interesting mix and could perhaps be very well done if I know how to play it effectively. I am using Underfyre's build. Of course I am far from level 50 just in my mid 20's so everything is not even slotted well. I would like to develop a good rotation or be aware of some of the common mistakes with these types of combo mechanics. I would be grateful for any help.

That is a 50% loss 😟. Psychic also. Well that puts it in perspective. Archery and Electric seems to be one of the least affected and perhaps is better, all things being equal but blasters have other tools to increase their damage. Looking at everything you have posted so helpfully I understand the disparity and reluctance of people playing sentinels.

Oh wow you really did try. I appreciate the builds thank you. I will try the Ice blast/SR ahh well be mediocre and never succeed but the it might be fun. Or I'll be the coward and play Electric Blast .🤪

Is it because the damage is so-so? I get that they have not adjusted it but I always loved the animations and the fact that you had some crowd control element in it. I've recently come back to play and kind of fallen in love with sentinels although from the traffic here I would assume it is not a popular AT. Anyone have a good ice primary build they find good or is it really not as good as some of the other primaries. I suppose fire has the most damage. I have a dual pistol/ninjitsu build I adore and am in 30's. However I would like another build I can try out for fun. Isn't creating alts a creed on Homecoming.

I use the mouse and KB when I am not in any hurry like summoning the pets or clicking doors but I know what you mean when you are like in a dreadful hurry and things are chasing you and you need to exit the mission. It can be quite clumsy to set the controller down to click the door. I am wondering if I might be better off just using the kb like the numbers from 1-5, Q,E R T and using the control and shift to go between the action bars for more powers or commanding the pets. I had forgotten that I have to also individually command some pets which has their own macro for. I suppose I can manage but it won't be optimal. I played ARPGs like Path of Exile and Last Epoch using the keyboard and left click on the mouse. I actually ruined my hand by using that 12 button mice. They made it possible to use only the thumb and by overuse of my thumb I developed excruciating pain after repeated use of the digit and contorting it to reach at least 9 side buttons. I was so excited when I discovered that mouse only to rue the day I became proficient at it. One advice I can give in my advanced years is overuse of any finger or thumb will lead to consequences. Controllers are so much more kinder.

Also reddit poster said to use the /powexec_location target Tar Patch to change the click at location to targeted Left thumbstick is my wasd so that is okay and I have my right thumbstick as jump when pressed down. I must remember cancel power forgot that was important.

Scrapper or brute class could work also in that they can attack with just the keys or cone attacks. Just no area or attacks that require you to aim on the ground and click again to drop it. I can manage most keys on kb on the joy2key setup.

I have problems with mouse and kb to play, my hands are having issues and I can no longer use the mouse and kb to play because they hurt and cramp up when I do. I also have carpal. I can like summon a pet or non emergency clicks I can do but actively pressing to target heals fast or placing things that require you to aim then click again like area attacks or placing a patch of healing or slowing tar I am unable to do on the set up I have. See I can using the controller map 1-0 that is 10 abilities on the A,B,X,Y buttons and then D-pad another 4 and the right and left shoulder for 9 and 10. The triggers can be control and alt for another 20 keys if I want but I won't need that many keys. So I may use them for targeting or switching targets. I can set the 'back' or 'start' button to tab to target. However my biggest problem is that I like playing Masterminds and I noticed that I will have issues targeting the pet for single target heals or buffs with the controller. I can use the mouse in between to click and use those powers but when in a chaotic fight I will not be able to heal effectively if my right hand is holding the mouse and clicking to heal while my left hand is holding the controller. This is a not going to work. So I need help. I was wondering whether anyone can suggest some other AT I can play where I can tab target mobs to kill but I will not have any skills I will need to aim with the mouse to place on the ground. I can just hit buttons for skills and I can play the class effectively with a controller. I have played WoW with the controller easily classes like the paladin and even the hunter controlling the pet with the right trigger set to control and using the control + number for pet command/skills. However the big issue with Mastermind is the skills that require you to target either a particular pet and you need to actually target and click it to work. If it is a cone I can simply turn and press the skill and that can work. It has been some time since I played so I cannot really remember how the powers are and which AT and power set requires actively targeting individual targets for healing in a fight. Buffs are not done in an emergency so I can refresh them with the mouse. I really would appreciate any suggestions from anyone of any AT or preferably an MM combination I can play with the controller. I did post this on Reddit but felt this forum would probably be a better place to ask this Edit: I changed the right trigger from control to left mouse so I can now click with the right trigger but I cannot aim because using the right stick to aim an area skill takes far longer than just using the mouse. The right stick is very unwieldly to aim with. This is driving me bonkus. I am looking for smart targeting or converting the aoe attacks that will simply deploy with one click.

Make sure you give plenty of warning when the event is so I can stay away. I despise PvP being shoved down my throat.

Not interested in PvP and I don't want any of it. I don't care if anyone thinks I am a coward because we are so brave playing video games...hahahaha . Don't introduce it anywhere I may be griefed as I have no interest in it. Just keep it in the PvP zones where I can completely avoid it. The title of this thread is in very poor taste.

My experience has only been with Necromancy and with their own ability to life drain and a combination of ranged and melee it is a good combination indeed. At level 33 I am currently handling +3X1. They don't have a lot of AOE so doing more enemies may be a bad idea although I might try it.
