  1. There is a good discussion here on kinetics.
  2. I tried asking this and on two different occasions in help, I had gotten different answers so I am thoroughly confused. I blame myself because I probably framed the question poorly. I may still be confused even after I get an answer here. Not the sharpest tool. If you have an effect like a chance to stun or chance for a resistance debuff or any proc but you don't slot the rest of the set , just that one enhancement that gives the proc. If that set is only from level 1-20 like for instance Energy Manipulator : Chance to Stun or Archlles' Heel : Chance for Resistance Debuff. You only slot one enhancement from that set into your power. The rest of the set has other enhancements like pet Blood Mandate on 5 slots. Is there any benefit to attuning the enhancement with the proc? Keep in mind that the highest level of the proc is level 20. If I do not attune and my enhancement is level 18 for example when I exemplar to level 40 does it work?
  3. Mercenary Mastermind comes to mind as needing help, a lot of help.
  4. I have only played Masterminds in Praetoria so this is my advice. First never take on more mobs at lower levels. You can do +2X1 but -1X3 is bad. You pets can handle harder mobs and believe me you can handle them with Time. You will level very fast even at those settings. I notice pets can do well at lower levels against even Lt reds and purples but die to more mobs. If you find yourself dying still drop the difficulty to +1x1 I think some of the damage you face in Praetoria at lower levels are ones you have little to no defense to so set your pets to bodyguard mode and only order them to attack when it is safe for you or you will die from the sustained attack of the mobs. In Bodyguard mode you can eat some damage since your pets take a share of the incoming damage. /macro BG petcom_all follow defensive Also use your hold on the mobs that do AOE damage always prioritize them over other mobs. Drop your distortion field first and slot it for holds so the holds stack. Buy all the Single Origins you can find even at low levels they help immensely by bumping up damage and accuracy. Use the /ah they are cheaper there. Six slot your pets first before you slot anything else because they are your damage.
  5. I am debating a Ninja/Dark as my next addition. Wow I have Heel on an easy to reach button next to my RMB on mouse because yeah they take off like a hare in a race even when I solo. God they are insanely fast. I have a Merc/Cold that I enjoy. They cannot kill fast but they don't die fast while they rattle off their guns. Adorable .
  6. Oh yes real nice dream skills that. Seriously though what is good with Ninja. I have a ninja/storm but I am dead afraid of grouping with her for fear of using one of those skills group mates frown upon. I am a horrid player so unless I am healing I used to play healers in most MMORPGs I do badly as DPS. Don't know Jack about DPS I control my pets well when I solo and I can in group too using my pet attack macro and BG mode when we move around or heel if they try to run when in a group, solo I let loose. I use a 19 button mouse so everything is at my fingertips so I tend to mess up and forget I'm in a group and use one of those skills. I love Ninjas like I love Mercs too. I play Mercs because inside me I enjoy playing the class combinations others have rejected no matter how good those reasons for rejection are. I know Ninja/Time works but I have a Beast/Time and Thug /Time so no more time. I did consider Forcefield but I think they say it underperforms. May be nature or may be just keep the storm and put the two skills on my bottom bar haha or learn to play as they say. Nevermind I think I will persevere with the storm for now.
  7. Has anyone tried Ninja/EA. I tried to create one but I was not happy with how it looked in the builder, it was bad and as you @The_Warpact pointed out little synergy in it. I have a Demons/EA I recently created that is level 20 and it is quite good. I can see the synergy there what with the natural resistance the demons have and the Faraday Cage. I also noticed how fast everything recharges in EA. You know as a secondary Trick Arrow could use some reduction in the recharge time. I am always lobbying for some Merc changes so throw in Trick Arrow too.
  8. You have 5 Merc MMs wow I do love them too. I have a cold merc. Cannot kill fast but they don't die easily thanks to the cold buffs. Every time I play the other MMs like demons or thugs I notice that Mercs don't kill fast lol. I wish they would fix them. I have a confession I have 17 MMs. I think I might have a problem.
  9. There is one in this thread and here and here
  10. I am learning how to play my ninja/storm especially using hurricane properly. I can use it in a corner when I am soloing but I am scared to use it in a group. Hurricane is firmly off because of the repel, not so much the knock back the repel is the issue here. It works if I can corner them but in a group by the time I explain what I am doing they won't invite that dumb storm MM again so I avoid it like a plague. Plus I have no confidence I can manage it well.
  11. I have a villain Merc/Cold that I enjoy. I'm sure it is not an optimal MM build and probably performs badly versus other MM primaries but I enjoy the villain side missions and stories with it. If you're not all about doing 4x8 and stuff this build can at level 19 do +2 so I am sure I can gradually push it higher. I have aid other though.
  12. I read every mission because I enjoy the writing especially the one in Praetoria. Believe it or not I actually scroll up to read the NPC's comments too and the villains/heroes/loyalist/resistance remarks before they try to kill you. I even read them even when I have done it a few times because I just enjoy going through a story arc properly. It takes time but I solo with my pets but I do join groups when I can. I will keep in mind all the points you have kindly shared and will make some level inroads soon I hope. I did try to make a recipe that dropped and I didn't need from buying the ingredients and made about 700k selling the completed enhancement. Some the ingredients for the dropped recipes were too insanely high and not worth making I just vendored the recipe as the going price for them were like 10. I enjoyed making that money.
  13. Thanks for tips. I feel relieved. Thanks for the offer I just wanted to see how far I can manage on my own.
  14. I know this is going to sound so petty but I was looking at the price of the recipes and IOs and almost had a heart attack especially when I looked at the set bonus one. I looked up a few videos that talk about buying converters and converting some recipes you craft with cheap ingredients and converting them to rare enhancements and making money that way. Is that conversion random and within that set or can it convert to something else entirely meaning another set altogether. Fine I get you can do that but I am not very sure what sells because I don't play other classes but even then I wonder can I get to 50 and play not bleeding edge stuff but may be +2 or 3 X 2 or 4 and enjoy myself with the generic crafted IOs, the common ones. I know you're going to say you should get the set bonuses for the resiatances but I just want to play my MM alts and not crack my head too much about making money. Yes it sounds awfully lazy but I was quite discouraged when I saw the prices of ingredients and the set recipes. I may get lucky and get some recipes but overall I just hoped I can make do with the generic IOs. Long time ago getting single origin was considered a big thing.
  15. This is really well done. Thank you for doing this. I too love Mercs I am hoping they make some changes.
  16. I have a lot of masterminds and I have played some without heals. I am not doing purple bosses or large groups even red and orange groups can be a challenge without a heal but if you had something like a repulsion bubble you can keep them away from your ranged pets but for ninja and beasts they cannot fight something that is being kept away from them. This is the main problem with not having a heal. I have a thug/poison build I am healing them constantly at 20. Pain too healing them one by one. However poison has some nice debuffs and thug has gang war that can be called upon for bosses. I have a fetish for ninja pets. I just find watching them fight so much fun with those kicks and very nice animations until they take off like a fox after a hare and wham dead /sigh. I think I will give up this folly. Thank you all for this nice discussion I am going with beasts/time , I know I have simply joined the crowd. I do have my Merc/Cold and Demon/Trick Arrow so I am bucking the trend right there.
  17. Well in your opinion do you think taking first aid will bring up this secondary in any way for a beast build. The problem would be fitting it in.
  18. I did think of taking first aid but in the end I think the many things already pointed out are relevant and the lack of popularity understandable. I'm sure in 2020 there were far more threads and yours just got buried in there when there were more exciting secondaries to discuss. Anyway I did play a Trick Arrow which despite all the criticism levied against it I found fun but glacially slow progress as I had to always try to keep Glue Arrow for every group. That made me drop it in the end. I can totally sympathize with people who don't want to play a secondary that has very slow recharges. Trick Arrow could have been great if they just shaved off a bunch of seconds but then may be it becomes too strong. I've no idea as I am not one to crunch numbers. Thanks for that build. If I do decide to roll a bot/sonic I will definitely use yours. Yes I am very lazy I just appropriate other people's builds.
  19. I will have a look at cold and thermal. I don't think I have tried those two yet. Thanks for all the reasoned out replies.
  20. You're right how could I have missed that. No healing. I'll take your advice into consideration. It is a build from 2019 by a poster here and I had it saved. I will make changes thank you.
  21. I just came back to the game and when it launched on Homecoming I made like 15 MMs of every kind and I am still interested in them. I tried to play another AT a scrapper and at the first Vahzilok mission I bailed and remembered why I disliked melee archetypes. I am not cut out for them since I am so terrible at fighting up close. So cutting to the chase I decided to try to play all those MMs I have and I am in quite a dilemma as I have too many and I could not decide on what to play. Then I saw a beast/sonic I had and I came to look it up here. I saw no sonic builds and that got me really worried. Anyway this was the build I had which is probably someone else's and I cannot recall whose, but here goes.
