  1. I've found nearly any tank/blaster combo to be absurdly effective! The tank keeps aggro off the blaster and the blaster "arrests" stuff fast enough that it never becomes a problem for the tank. I do a lot of duos and that's probably the most efficient in my experience. It's a very smooth run. Swap the blaster for a corruptor with nice debuffs for similar results. A pair that really surprised me was my arsenal/TA troller paired with my buddies beast/storm MM. Enemies rarely got a chance to attack and when they did get an attack off they usually hit a pet so we had an extremely safe run up to 50.
  2. Oh man, I just finished one of those last week and it was sooo much fun!! That's one I kept played post 50 just because it was so much fun! I'm a big fan of Trollers in general but that combo was next level! By mid 30s we had cranked the diff up to +3x8 and really cruised through just about everything. I ran with my buddy who was playing a MM, if I were solo I probably would have kept it to +2 a bit longer but regardless, it's an absurdly effective Troller! Have fun!
  3. We all play in wildly different ways and I'm curious how much time folks spend getting to 50. Just the run up to 50 not including incarnate stuff. I've gone through a few phases here: I've powerleved stuff to 50 in 3-4 hours but haven't done that in years. For a while I'd PL to 32 (1 hour) and play it up from there (1 week of 2-3 hours per night to get to 50 from 32) These days I usually just play it up from 1-50 (2 weeks of 2-3 hours per night, roughly 40ish hours) I almost exclusively run as a duo with a buddy. We'll join the occasional TF or something but mainly we just level through duo'ing story arcs/TFs cranking up the difficulty as we get stronger. We do run the double XP boosters and almost always run the TF of the week for the big xp bonus. We've found this to keep things fresh and interesting for us. After hitting 50 we might spend some more time with them getting Incarnate stuff and seeing how far we can push them or we might just make a new pair and start the whole thing over again. So in general I spend 2+ weeks with roughly 40 hours playing a single toon to 50. (Funny to contrast that to the 6 months it took me back on live to get my first 50!) So how long do you spend getting to 50? Do you solo all the way? Are you on 8 man teams the whole way up? Do you duo too? Are you leveling multiple toons at once or do you just focus on 1 at a time? Do you tend to spend more time pre-50 or post-50?
  4. I just hit 50 on a Arsenal/TA and it was a blast to level! Master of the patch! It has so many tools to play with that you always something meaningful to toss at the mob even on very fast moving teams. I used this build from Onlyasandwich and just de-purpled it for leveling. Eventually I made some small changes like adding the TP pool so I could stealth tp into the mob and then tp the super taunty & tanky Tri-gun right to the center of the mob to get everything grouped up nicely for my myriad patches.   5. All of the sets in which you've expressed interest are very solid and I think you'll enjoy any of them. Of the 3 I'd lean towards Shield but I have very serious Teleport Nuke addiction! (I'm seeking help...) Rad armor is also fantastic if you want to try something outside of those 3.
  6. I'm on board just to offer Tanks more options! Yeah they get quite a few options already but more is always better!
  7. I lean towards no but if it were just a badge or title I wouldn't be bothered. It doesn't feel necessary though.
  8. Lightning Rod is hellova way to make an entrance! Very satisfying as well! Meteor from Siesmic has been mentioned, thats an impressive looking power! Way beyond awful to use but it looks very cool.
  9. Ya know what, your build is the one I started with lol! I found it in another thread and its ever so slightly different (I think just the slots in Entangling) but it's definitely yours! So thanks! The only changes I plan on are my travel power of preference and replacing the purples so its leveling friendly. It looks like a very fun build! I'm really curious how it's gonna play in the early levels with all those procs. I played it up to lvl 10 last night so I can throw a few Impeded Swiftness and some of the PVPs in there tonight. It already has soooo many control options, it's nuts! I was thinking about swapping the Epic to Fire, how are you liking Mu? Fun fact: My Fire/fire/fire blaster was also based on one of you builds so Thanks for that one too 🙂

  12. I just finished a Arse/Psi Dom and had a blast with it so my newest toon is a Arse/TA Patch Master Troller! I played it a bit on test in the mid 30s with just SOs slotted and it was kicking some major butt! Just an absurd amount of tools to shut down spawns. The way the Tri-Gun gets containment damage is fantastic and almost makes up for the lack of single target damage elsewhere in the set. Tranq dart is also surprisingly decent damage. I'm going to throw caution to the wind and try a full out proc build with minimal res/def and less recharge than I usually like. I still need some half decent recharge to get oil slick arrow back as fast as possible though because when I parsed my damage logs from test it turned out that the fire from OSA accounted for about half of my total damage! It's as close as I'm gonna get to a Troller Nuke! Arsenal is an interesting set, it has decent AOE damage, low to mid single target damage, very high control but the lack of hard control means you still need to stay on your toes. It feels a bit like earth control minus the aoe immob.
  13. Maybe a big honkin set of wings and a Titan weapon? I like you're BS/Shield idea but I have a hard time recommending Broadsword. I have Mace, Axe and Broadsword scrappers and BS trails the pack by a good bit. Not so much that it isn't functional but enough to notice. Axe is the best of the 3 and Mace is pretty solid too, I think Mace/Shield could really work with your concept. As for Scrapper or Tank, boy that's a tough call and you can't make a wrong choice because they're both great but I have a great affinity for Shield Scrappers so that's my vote!

In Mids, if you have a power with 6 empty slots (for example), you can place 1 piece of a set in the first slot and then just middle mouse click all the other slots and Mids will drop the next piece of the set into each slot. I'm just learning this myself so there may be more nuance to it than that but it's pretty awesome! Wish I knew it long ago!

  17. Wow! So much diversity in the ways you all build, it's very interesting! I kind of expected a couple of styles would dominate the responses and there are some commonalities but by and large, everyone has their own system. I'm stealing tips from everyone!!

  19. I greatly dislike the changes. These groups have just had boring time sinks added to them. Even worse, you get nothing for the added effort. When you kill a Freak you get xp and then when that Freak rez's you kill it again and get another helping of xp. You get nothing but your time wasted by the council that turn into wolves. There isn't even an interesting mechanic involved. With a Super Stunner, you know you have to knock him away or get yourself away before he dies if you don't want him to rez. To go even further, if the Stunner rez's with you nearby he rez's with some life but if he rez's with the whole team around him he gets full life. Sure they can be a pain but there is a game to outsmarting them. With the council, the player has no agency, there is nothing one can actively do to prevent them from turning and you can't affect how much life they turn with. It's all just rng, utterly devoid of creativity. X amount of these will turn and when a boss turns and you effectively kill 2 bosses you get 1 boss worth of xp. If I have to deal with rezzers/turners I'll just avoid the Council and go kill Freaks where at least I'm rewarded for the effort. EDIT: I stand corrected, disregard my blatherings...
  20. Greetings! I'm curious how folks build. The vast majority of builds that can be found on these forums are maxed out 50+ builds with full Incarnates, purples, superiors and the kitchen sink! That makes sense, you want to see what the build is capable of at the highest level but those aren't very useful when you're leveling up. So do you folks start with that uber build and just suck it up until you can put all the fancy bits in or do you level up with a different build and respec post 50? For myself, I used to just suck it up but swapped to making solid functional builds with no Incarnates/purps/superiors for the leveling up process. If I love the toon when it hits 50 it might get a new uber build and if it's just "fine" it'll probably stick with the no purps/no superiors build and slowly unlock incarnate stuff on task force of the weeks or BAFs or something. I find myself enjoying the leveling up more than the post 50 stuff these days so I have to really enjoy it to justify blinging it out. Do you guys just level up on SOs, do you make a leveling build, do you build towards that uber build or something else entirely?
  21. I just pulled the Orb from my Ars/Psi Dom. I was (lvl 33) facing Sky Raiders and the orb would follow teleporters into other mobs, despawn and bring all that aggro right back to me! I've used it before on other Doms and not had any problems and actually quite liked it but it got me killed twice last night. Maybe I'll re-evaluate once I'm 50 but for now it's banned from my build!
  22. Congrats! Looks like fun! I built an arse/psi dom after watching your hydra pylon vid. It's only 34 so far but it's proving to be very powerful! I'll have to give this a try, though I may just run at +0 until I get my sea legs. I really like your strategy though, very slick!
  23. For me, I really dislike the zones. They are dreary, dirty and worst of all hard to navigate. It's like they were designed with the assumption that you have chosen flight as your travel power, Grandville is a nightmare for a super speeder! The red side zones are just not places in which I enjoy spending time. Then there are the enemy choices, Goldbrickers and Luddites are fine but I seem to find myself facing a never-ending stream of Arachnos and Longbow. As a low level solo bad guy they are unpleasant to fight and I'd much rather go fight Trolls/Skulls/Outcasts/Warriors on blue side. Every now and then I get bored of doing the same blue side stuff and I feel like I should go play some red side. I play a couple missions, get frustrated, and head right back to blue side.
  24. I monitor many of the same attributes across all my toons. It would be wonderful if I could just save those attributes on one toon and load them up on another as opposed to selecting them all one by one. I have no idea if that is possible with our 20 year old spaghetti code but a fella can dream! What do you folks think? This is my typical attributes window: Regen recovery damage to hit recharge inf Then relevant Def or Resist.
  25. My apologies, my scenario must have been unclear. In that scenario, my lvl 35 tank was not actively looking for a posi and was perfectly happy to continue doing my radios solo. It was only the lure of joining a team led by an individual with whom I've had positive experiences in the past that got me to leave my hypothetical radio. No exclusion or ignoring of anyone involved. For the record, if I were actively looking for a Posi, I'd most likely start my own and invite the first 7 tells I got or I'd jump on the first one I saw advertised.
