I'd kill for the ability to give pets alternate "archetypes" as has been brought up before, but, I'd also love to be able to do what Phantom Army does with how you can replace the summons with your character model. There's a few sets this just DOESNT work for, obviously (demons, thugs, beasts...) but! If we could... Thugs - Cops, Pirates, Clowns, the Troll enemy roster, and the Praetorian Destroyer enemy roster all strike me as nice alternative models. Mercs - Malta, Nemesis army men, 5th Column, and Praetorian Resistance all strike me as fitting alternative models, with Praetorian Resistance being probably my *BIGGEST* wish for this set (besides a buff). Demons - Crey, Outcasts, Circle of Thorns and the Living Spell enemies found throughout Night Ward fit the overall abilities of the summons, though some don't QUITE fit the whip... Zombies - the various "infected" you find in Mercy Island, Praetorian Ghouls, the Vazilok enemy roster, and while I think it would take some work, the Snake enemy faction (also found on mercy island) as well as the Coralax faction could fit in here, with some careful visual reworks. Robots - Praetorian Clockwork comes to mind immediately, Skyraider robots, Arachnos spider drones, Nemesis automatons, and the Freak roster all fits here. Ninjas - Knives of Artemis IMMEDIATELY comes to mind, Warriors, as well as Praetorian Syndicate thugs and Knives of Vengeance Beasts - I feel like we should have the ability to swap to other animals, there's a LOT of them in the game weirdly enough, but also, I'd like to see Redcaps as an alternative model, as well as Praetorian Ghouls, and I'd love to see Arachnoids show up here as theyre a rare sight in general. Now, in an ideal world, MANY of these would just BE their own mastermind sets. But, it's probably a pipe dream to think we'd get new sets for MASTERMIND of all things. I'm biased of course, since I think Mastermind would be a great platform to show some love for Goldside, barring the ability to somehow reconstitute the fabled PEATs that, as far as i've heard, never made it out of the "cool idea" phase of development. I digress though...

I literally agreed with you, and quoted you to reinforce the support for that argument, the same way I did with other people in this thread, who shared the same ultimate sentiment. You don't need Mez protection for a Dark Armor tanker, they have plenty of that on their own. As for Mez protection for YOURSELF? Well that's something you're unlikely to get as a support character anyhow, since most support sets don't offer mez protection for YOU, only others (some break the mold, but most don't) If you're set on Water, I'd say corruptor. However, and I know this may sound odd, have you considered Tactical Arrow? I played through the first two sections of goldside content (Nova Praetoria and Imperial City) with a friend, him playing a Martial Arts/Invul scrapper and me playing a TA/DP defender and I had a blast, literally the only thing that coulda made that more fun was if he were a tanker so he could pull agro off me reliably. Which brings me to another point... You can support your friend while not being a support. Tankers like having DPS buddies around, and as a person who regularly duos with a tanker on a STALKER, I find it really hard to recommend anything else. You want a dynamic duo? The "Superman and Batman" meme is, unironically, a fantastic way to play both mechanically and thematically. It's great. We're a SD/SS tanker and STJ/SR stalker the amount of ass kicking is immense. What Im saying is, you should think about what is fun to play for you FIRST. Everything else is a second thought.

So, I have a mashed potato brain when it comes to the finer mechanics of this game. On paper, Defenders get bigger numbers on the damage buffs (Share Pain is +31.25% and World of Pain is +25%) and, bigger numbers on Assault (I think that's like... 20%? I have no idea off t he top of my head). By, I also know that Corruptors have higher damage SCALING than defenders do. So, despite having smaller damage buff NUMBERS they get more returns on the damage theyre actually DEALING due to their inherent background numbers (Scrouge not withstanding). But, Defenders also have Vigilance, which is like... I think if you're solo that's a flat +30% damage? So, what I'm kinda getting at is which of these two gets the most out of this set? Does World of Pain even benefit you? Ive fallen in love with this idea of a Pain/Sonic (or Sonic/Pain) toon where the "support" is more in the form of stupidly disproportionate DPS? Marrying +DAM with -RES into some kinda heinous, screaming bird, and I just dont know enough about how all these numbers interact to go forward with it.

Without looking into it too deeply, this seems like a question that's got to be as old as time. Having never made a Ren OR WP toon, and Im looking to make a 'Ghoul' character for Goldside flair. Im having difficulty deciding which to use, since both seem pretty nestled in the 'health regen' field of dealing with damage, with Ren focusing more on healing, and WP focusing more on damage mitigation. I, personally, have zero idea which of these two does the job of "regeneration" better. You would think it's Regeneration, but, if you can't even survive long enough for your Regen to help you, what's the point? Also! What's the deal with Regen being unavaiable for Tankers? Like, Energy Aura I can get (I dont AGREE with it, but I get it) but no Regen? They get WP, but no Regen? What's the deal, what's this discrimation against HEALING huh? You got something AGAINST the color GREEN, huh? GREEEEEEN number going up? Shaking my smh my shaking shh duuuude, in 2022 no less!

Weirdly enough, I find myself more and more NOT taking hasten, since it ends up being overkill on a lot of builds. Like. Remember that your powers HAVE animation times. Most take about 1 second or so (some less, some more) so, lets say your attack chain is 4 attacks. That adds up to (generally speaking) 4 seconds from start to finish. You kinda just need to get those powers to a recharge time where 4~ seconds is how long you need to wait for them to come back. You can do that pretty easily with SOs or IOs or what have you, like, unless they have a particularly LONG cooldown (1min or more). It's THOSE powers where you want to look at hasten and go "ok, yes, your power is needed now". But, if you want a build that doesnt even touch hasten, my Street Justice/Super Reflexes stalker hits like a fucking bus, can solo AVs no problem, and I quite literally never, ever have a want for hasten -- nothing I have needs it. The ONLY thing is like... Elude, and Build Up. For the former, just slot recharge speed in it for the latter, one of the class IO set offers a proc that will INSTANTLY reset Build Up. If you DONT want to spend money on that though? Kinetic Melee can sub in for Street Justice and that has a BUILT IN way to automatically recharge build up. If stalker isnt your thing though, I have a Kinetics/Sonic Defender who only has Hasten because I wanted Whirlwind and didnt have a use for Flurry. He's at 43 right now, has a whopping 3 attacks from Sonic, and im always casting SOMETHING between recharges, Im always DOING something in the time between attacks (usually less than a second or two). Im NEVER waiting for an attack, Im NEVER wishing something was off cooldown NOW as opposed to later. If Ranged DPS is more your style, I highly recomend Rock/Ninja blaster. Much of what I've said applies here -- im ALWAYS casting SOMETHING, so I never really WANT for Haste.

So this Zatanna is a single female lawyer, having lots of [SPELLS]? I mean, I like Mind/Fire dominator. That's pretty magic-y. I know my main 'mage' is an Elec/Fire dominator and she's really fun, even if i play her really poorly.

I have a Beam blaster that uses the gadgets or traps or whatver its called as the secondary? She's ok, she pumps out damge really well and ive really fallen in love with the electro web grenade, which i had at first thought was kinda dooky. I envisioned them as a laser sniper, and so far that's exactly what im getting. I had a LOT more fun with a Beam/Bio sentinel and Beam/Super Reflexes sentinel. Id argue Beam is one of the best options on Sentinel, and it makes that class shine despite the mechanics not always being kind to it.

Ha! What pathetic estimates. Truly, you must be new, because, as we all know, proven time and time and time again that the single most powerful character, in this entire and perhaps any other, is the Mercenaries/Empathy Mastermind. Single target melee? Your pets get various various rifle smacks that can deal upwards 30 damage at max level. That's 30, MULTIPLIED by the number of pets you have, who land their hits, PLUS that's not even accounting for your contributions, in the form of BRAWL AoE melee? No problem. Move over Spine/Fire brute, the REAL king of damage has arrived. Just take your rifle and spin around in a circle really really fast. Eventutally, youll reach turbo velocity and just cleave everything in twain! Obviously, your mercs can do the same, since they ALSO have guns, and since theyre pets, an exploit in their A.I allows them to get stuck on level geometry to maximize theyre single area rotation coverage. Single target ranged shouldnt need an explanation, but, this is where Empathy really shines. You deal SO much damage that the game cant even compute it, it throws your numbers into the negatives, and youll HEAL whatever youre targeting! It even lets you revive a player from 0 hp to FULL hp. It's so busted, trolls (the internet kind, not the green kind) abused it so the devs had to make it so it can only target players now. And Ranged AoE is just as simple. Every single one of your pets has ranged AoEs, with the mainstay pets getting cones that hail bullets in all directions. There's just no competition. Mercs/Emp is among the least played classes in the game FOR a REASON. NOBODY wants this much power. There's just simply NO need for it.

So, here's some bits from the rogues isles I'd like to see. Vivacious Verandi here has this beautiful, stained class pattern gear, and these long gloves bicep frills are of special note since they climb HIGHER than the normal glove slot allows, which would be nice. Here's a small quiver. I like it because it's small. Very taticool, because it's box shaped and small. This chest harness with the dragon on it doesnt fit this idiot at all, but it's a nice piece im sure all the would be Game of Thrones cosplayers would die for. Or kill for. Like me! Id kill for it... Im glad we understand eachother...

I tried to make a carnie character that's like, not a carnie. I wouldnt call it my best work, but i used random things i normally never ever use and like, weirdly is WORKS? So, what they've cleverly done is use Prestige Power Slide, and what LOOKS like Thunderhead travel path aura to completely saturated their feet in color (in this case, purple/magenta). I did something similar in... This thread! However, if you dont want to read it, ill give you the most relevent bit THis is thunderhead aura, and the thunderhead path aura, even WITHOUT slide, you can barely see his feet. If I slapped that on, the disk's orange glow would be likely consumed entirely by the purple storm.

So, Im trying to do all the contacts on gold side, but i've out leveled like, two of them at least by now. I know I can go back and get them through Oro in another 10 levels or so, but that's further away than I'd like. So, when do contacts just say "ok well, go on to the next zone, you dont need to do my missions, who would want to take part in this story heavy content anyhow?"

I like indominatble because the fucking goblin who sells all my cool names to the highest bidder hasnt opened up shot there, so I can have all my wonderful, funny, and creative names without needing to substitute letters for numbers, or mixnmatch the case of the letters. Plus, whenever the hordes of RPers i meet on everlasting that may or may not be really really horny are bothering me with their horny, I can flee to Indom, since lord knows theyll never ever, in their life time ever, enter the 'Unofficial PvP server' -- despite the amount of pvp going on there is about the same as any other shard.
