Doc Buzzsaw is a collection of pixels. Nothing more, nothing less. Some may see a female. Some may see a male. Some may see an android or cyborg type entity. I just see pixels.

So, you can right click on the name and get their global; you may recognize the name (or not). You can also click to add or edit note - maybe you've run into them before and made a notification. But - if this is a player unknown to you, other than getting their global, there's no efficient way to know what they want or how they play. Generally, I think the best thing you can do is to either put a note in your Search Comment box what style of play is your preference.

So, while checking to see if the badgeset popmenu had been updated, I noticed "ape face" was an add-on. If downloaded, is this an option to add, or will it make all my characters have an ape face? I'm sure that's a stupid question, but I'm prone to be obtuse. And, Halloween is around the corner. How does the Halloween Event map go with the Vidiot Maps pack? Does it replace it, or just add to it? Thanks!

So, of course, I googled the name - just now. At first, I was in my head, thinking, "Sheesh, another popular reference that everyone but me will grasp right away." I completely get that my life experiences and perspective are different from everyone else's. But Sound of Music hits a sore spot for me. It was my ex-wife's favorite musical, and I had to bite my tongue every time she would watch it, because I found it the most ridiculous thing next to Sweeney Todd, arguably, the greatest comedy of all time. You really should all watch Sweeney Todd. It changed my life. This notion that Hollywood and other performers would break out in song to tell a story instead of simply speaking...it's just too silly for me to appreciate. To this day, I have yet to be able to watch the entire film. It's just that awful for me. I can appreciate the story - but I cannot appreciate the music. And because they chose to cram that stuff into the film, just no. A very easy NO to Sound of Music references please.

Again, Nemu gives sage advice. For Advanced mode tfs - you worry about maximizing DPS, and hitpoints secondarily. With the staggered barriers, you don't need to sweat defense or resistance in your builds.

Are Converters still the go-to for merit purchases?
Ukase replied to EmperorSteele's topic in The Market
Happy to buy them from you at 2x the price! -
Played 20 years ago, I'd love to find some similarly aged folks to play with?
Ukase replied to evanweb's topic in Everlasting
You have a huge number of sharp players on Everlasting. Until you find who you're going to hang out with - make good use of the Help Channel. You'll be fine. -
Are Converters still the go-to for merit purchases?
Ukase replied to EmperorSteele's topic in The Market
Well - for one - much depends on what you're selling the converters for. You also probably forgot, or didn't know that you can save yourself a ton of clicking by just selling your converters, no matter how many you have, to me. If you have over 10K, it may take a couple of minutes because of the cap on how many can be held by a given character, but it would probably save you fees, and a lot of clicking. It would certainly save me a lot of clicking. And since you're Cosmic Council, you get a better rate than other non-Cosmic folks would. (DM me for details) As to the specific request for thoughts on the topic -- I honestly have never sold a converter. Ever. I get more inf from using the converters to turn trash into gold. (nowadays, with all the competition, it seems less like gold. More like tarnished silver) It seems to be a common discussion that if you have 100 reward merits, the only time it's worth using them for an enhancement is with regards to Winter-Os. Purples - though expensive to craft, relatively - can still be obtained via patience for 12M or so; And with crafting and salvage, still be had for less than 15M all in. And then sold patiently for 18M for profit. Seems like a lot to invest given how fungible they are - with market crash and converters being easily used. Still, not a great deal for 100 merits. Winter-Os continue to sell for the "Sell now" price of about 17-18M - which is roughly what you might expect to get from selling 300 reward merits for 65K each. If you catalyze it (900k) and then unslot (100k) and list it - you can get close to 25M if not more, if you're patient. The problem is - we're not the only people who know this, so there's always competition driving the prices down. Still, even at 21M for a superior Winter, you make out just a bit ahead of selling converters outright (after fees, and on the AH). You probably just have to wait longer. But, for my money, I say use the converters. But since it's your money - sell them in whatever size stack you have to me. -
So, I just wanted to encourage you to continue working with this. I think it has a lot of utility.

They are useless trash. The music in Yin's shop is interesting; quirky. But there's nothing special about his enhancements. They are basically an SO with a flashier Icon.
-
There is another way, but it can be complicated. Particularly when explained by me. I'll do my best: 1st account places a level 50 Shield Wall Def/rech in the AH and lists it for sale at a price you won't lose sleep if someone buys it. 2nd account places a bid for the same IO in the attuned section of Shield Wall, and clicks on the Def/Recharge in particular if nobody bought before you got your bid in. Now, in theory - that sounds great. In practice, anecdotally, it can get messy. 1st account places the aforementioned IO for sale at ...say 7,500,000 inf. Someone may have actually bid more than 7.5M for that IO and get it before your alt can. So, the price you pick - you kind of have to be careful. So, look at the history carefully. It may be you need to list it a little higher. But not too much higher. My brain always says list it high - nobody will buy it! But then, when I try to buy it for more than the high price, I end up with someone else's - and mine is still for sale at a high price. So, the price is the pain point. You have to hope there are no outstanding bids to take them all from you before you can get any. Assuming it doesn't sell instantly, your 2nd account places a bid for the Attuned version of the Shield Wall Def/Recharge at 7.5M (same price the other one is selling for) So, I've done this with mixed success. Sometimes - I place it for sale, and someone else has a larger bid and gets it before my alt can get it. This is why you have to be okay with the sale if it should go through. If you do this, I suggest you do it for about 5 of each of the enhancements you want. (I tend to use a lot of the same sets for my builds.) This way - if one or two sells, you can place your next one for a little more inf so it doesn't sell instantly. So, what happens here is you've listed a level 50 IO for sale on 1 account, and your 2nd account buys it attuned. Again, in theory, it works nicely. Saves you the cost of a catalyst. In practice, it can get "messy" as I mentioned. Did I mention it can get messy? Hopefully, I've made the steps clear. If you don't understand my instructions - it's probably my fault - just do nothing. Yomo will probably jump in and explain it in 2 small sentences very clearly.

See, I saw it the other way around. My snipe was a 1-shot killer. And the nuke, the t-9 was a whole group killer. What's not to like about that? But, experiences and playstyles vary.
-
Well, I still play, and even on my own accounts, I have to admit to some characters being abandoned, and relegated to the back "page". Once a week, at least, I'm going through and simply doing a couple of respecs and deleting these characters I'm certain I'll never play again. The problem I'm having is - I've no room left in my bases for the enhancements - and I don't want to make another base. That's why I'm only doing it once a week. I'm making a new character to use the soon to be discarded enhancements via unslotters, as opposed to a mass dump from a respec. Unfortunately for all of you - I'm just giving the names to the new characters I'm making. But, at least I'm not using up new names that I might think up that you might also come up with.
-
I don't think it needs to be considered a bug, but I would certainly report it as an undesired outcome. I would expect, if changing it isn't terribly problematic or time consuming, they'd adjust it because I wouldn't expect anyone to think of this as an intended outcome. Probably just something that got missed.
-
As mentioned - the problem is not terrain, but the fact that your character was in combat (or just finished the spawn of mobs in your path, as you set out for the next set of npcs) There will be a circle around this snipe the system shows you to let you know when your snipe is no longer a snipe but a regular ranged attack. It's yet another reason why ice is better than fire. Ice is not encumbered by such tawdry mechanics. (Just my opinion, not backed by any evidence)

So...just going out on a limb here, figuratively: Kronos, when triggered by the completion of a specific mission in a story arc, spawns near the character that held the mission. Same with Babbage. Generally, players when finishing missions are en route to their next mission - which could suggest the reason for this behavior. But the Kronos that spawn repeatedly in Talos...I dunno about these GMs. Frankly, when I am playing on Indom - this doesn't happen. Or if it does, the population is so small, nobody knows it's happening, and Kronos just gets droned. I expect that the GM in question spawns - and just remains where they are and when they are moving, it's in response to aggro from a player. Just speculation on my part, but I really can't say with any degree of certainty.

Ha! Nice teaser in the title, right? About a year or so ago, I had resolved to slow down with the speedy runs and take my time a bit. But still, even with my obtuse nature, this seems like something I would have noticed before. So...a few days ago, on a new character, I was looking to suffer through all the arcs out of Atlas. I had to choose between Sondra Costel and Officer Fields, knowing I'd pick up the other through Ouro. So, through Ouro, I grab the Sondra Costel arc. The last mission has the same entrance every time. Same with Ouro. [-378.9 0.5 538.4] (in Atlas, naturally) The exit...I'm not so sure, but I made a new character just to check and well...it's odd. And clever. [2653.7 -31.8 290.0] is the exit. So far, both times - and it's right by Aaron Thiery, the next contact. How'd I miss this? And why isn't this type of thing used more often? I know I've seen this kind of thing in game, but can't recall where. It was probably not quite the same type of thing, but close enough. Anyway, thought I'd share this to see how many other folks missed it like I did.

I think (and I could be wrong) is mids has an issue with the way the chunk is copied. Might be better to just share the build the routine way, with the mbd file. Beyond the topic of this thread, but mids usually fills the entire section with a data chunk; in this case, it's using 3 lines, and not wrapping the text the way it usually does. Definitely a problem with mids. (surprise, lol - still grateful for it.)

First - please don't feel dumb - the search function for the forums is ...well, either I'm not smart enough, or it just doesn't work well. Could be both. In any event - you can search for the posts of one specific name. First: Click on Activity, then scroll down to search. Then click on the "+Search by Author". That should give you some results. Maybe not the specific results you wanted - but posts by that player should appear.

So, I've been meaning to check in and give some gratitude and appreciation. Original Author: Vayek Changes the sound files for demon summoning to humorous kitten sounds. Repackaged by Westley Bennett Many thanks to both of you for allowing me to keep from screaming at MMs with their horrible pets making all that noise. The kitten sounds are so much better, and it kind of tickles me a bit when I hear them. And thanks for putting the Modder together and making it so easy to use!

I figured I should add - the villain/rogue name for this badge is Shady. Some folks pop in a friend's mission and don't see Shrouded and don't realize that Shady is the same badge, just a different name. By changing alignments, the badge name will revert to Shrouded and then if you've done all the other requirements, the accolade will award.

Please do not joke like this. I am still on my first cup - and I'm already obtuse. I'm suddenly scrambling my brain to think what I can turn in my Observant badge for ...another badge? A temp power? A new level shift? And then it finally dawns on my you're being self-deprecating about not being observant. Well played, lol.

Is it this power only? Just me? Sniper Rifle delay in animation
Ukase replied to Ukase's topic in General Discussion
I appreciate knowing it's not my brain misfiring. So, that's of some comfort, lol. Guess it's just one of those things, where I pretend I'm shooting an actual sniper shot of hundreds of yards instead of 150 feet. (not slotted for range yet)
