  1. That dude that was overpowered was spam? I thought he was just the stoned Sentinel that ruined Snarky's MoMarketCrash.
  2. It's really an Arachnos Pylon in Atlas...or a new kind of extended cab for a semi.
  3. The Pre-emptive Kick. I've seen it done. This is why I've never led a Master TF. I don't have the reflexes to kick someone at the right time. The best part about these types of threads is it shows me there are people who are not as skilled as me. This over-inflates my ego, which sorely needs it, given how bad I play sometimes. Like when I'm trying to mash f5 for the break free and hit F6 instead and am screaming "Run!". So sad to have clumsy fingers.
  4. I can't believe I didn't say this in the first place. If you want Special Characters - consider recruiting @Snarky. He's a very special character.
  5. I could share my story about an incidental over-use of some edibles, but I'll just say I'm sorry you had an idiot Sentinel ruin your badge effort. The idiot Sentinel who lectured you about rage quitting might have been someone old school like me who was always told that quitting a TF is a faux pas. Nowadays, people will quit a tf just as fast as they'll leave an MSR or a radio team. I don't agree with it - but if it's a master run, and it's clear you weren't going to get master, then I get why you quit. I would proceed for the merits and the purple (well - you probably already got the purple on that character) but you're now a busy vampire. Time is more valuable for you than for people who are stoned.
  6. I will actually give this a try. Looks very nice!
  7. I don't know if I find those maps too dark - but there is definitely something off about them on my side. I have a tough time telling what's floor, and what's air. When you get to the end of a hallway, often there's a recessed bit of floor, a small bowl if you will, and I can never tell it's like that until I drop to the floor.
  8. If you know this with certainty to be true. Let's publicly shame them. It'll be fun! And I am kind of kidding. We all have 1000 slots and supposedly can make as many accounts as we want, as long as we don't have more than three on a single shard at a time when population count is below 1500 on that shard. (to be clear: Excelsior is a server. Everlasting is a server, etc. We got used to thinking like this, because I think on retail, each shard was on its own server. Or maybe some of us were always using the wrong term. No idea. But in this context, server = shard) While we can shame someone who hoards names, where do we draw that line? I also have 2 names that I've placed on a level 1 waiting for the right time to begin playing them. Just 2. Not thousands. But if they have to lose all theirs, I'd lose my two. And while life would go on, it would be one silly name I'd not get to play and that would be unfortunate for me. And, well, publicly shaming is probably not that far removed from bullying and should not be done. I'm sure if we think about it carefully, we can find a better solution - and for now, the solution is set the name policy up, just not enforce it yet. Maybe we come up with something more clever later. I do understand the disappointment of creating a kitten character, and then choosing the powersets, and actually trying to kittenize the character in the costume creator, only to realize that Chairman Meow has already been taken! And I had a lot of propaganda fun little quotes to use, already lined up! Probably for the best I can't have it. I'm a strong believer in the market, and I'm not sure I would be able to stomach Chairman Meow and his propaganda for long.
  9. For me, the most amusing part was the dude went out and bought pineapples to literally make a shield to test it. That's a lot of pizza toppings, if that's how you roll.
  10. I almost put this in suggestions/feedback, but since it's a joke, I'll put it here. I know this has something to do with pineapple on pizza, but not sure what.
  11. Heh, that reminds me of a time on Retail when I made a tank called Tat. In the description/bio area, I wrote, "Tit for Tat." I got more blind invites for Tat than any other character. I always assumed it was because the name was short, and easy to type out. Unlike some of my polysyllabic names that are not only hard to pronounce, but hard to spell properly.
  12. I certainly wouldn't know with any measure of certainty, but I see all kinds of characters used in chat that aren't part of our 26 letter alphabet. I've seen hearts, even. If we can get a heart, surely we have one of those umlauts somewhere. But maybe the text field for the names in the character creators have a different set of rules? No idea. @Laucianna is often using symbols/characters that aren't in the English alphabet - they may know a trick.
  13. You're overthinking it. I've seen level 11's recruit for an MSR. I've seen one player take the opposite approach with some odd trailer to his recruitment message, something like "your monster uber super ultra 50 welcome" You could recruit as you normally do with the trailer "level XX and under please." No explanations are needed. There may be one or two that might be curious enough to ask, and then you can elaborate if you wish. But I doubt it.
  14. Other than the maze in the Labyrinth, and maybe the "Stop 30 Fir Bolg" mission - what are some examples of why you'd want to use this power? I just can't think of many situations where it has any real utility. (I'm sure that says more about me than the power, but the question remains)
  15. During Hallowe'en, there are usually a number of Jacks and Eochais all over the place. I was on a level 30 or so character in Sharkhead. A blaster, most likely. I summoned Statesman to give me a hand, and because I wasn't thinking ahead, I got clobbered. I can't recall if I got stunned, held, slept or what, but my t-1 & 2 just didn't have enough dps and I got foot stomped. I use the Return to Battle, and pretty much the same story. Since the Monstrous Aethers came out, soloing a GM is suddenly considered a no-no, because other people want loot, too. So, I just don't bother with trying anymore. Anecdotally, any (And I do mean ANY) level 50 with a t-4 lore pet and some team reds can clobber a named GM. The DE GMs that we clobber to spawn Hami, or the ones off on those tiny islands in PI - they take a bit more effort. Probably because it can be tough to tackle just one of them. Ha! I also recall being in the upper 20's, with a "Crawl Team" that had no IOs, just SOs. We thought we'd tackle the Seed of Hamidon. I remember it being during Halloween because when they -fly my character, I fell right on top of Jack and got stomped into the mud. I think we ended up asking for help; I don't really remember. I do know we were unable to do it with just the 5-6 of us.
  16. Taking the Victory server and placing it within Homecoming sounds like a herculean task; particularly arduous considering it's a volunteer staff. I can't imagine all the potential for things to go awry.
  17. I hadn't noticed. I find that if I knew what they were last week, determining this week's is simple. Feel free to copy it into your own spreadsheet and expand the dates and share with the rest of us.
  18. I have a project I'm just starting - Beam/Marine Corruptor. I really should make it a defender, maybe after the corr. I'm going a bit crazy trying to plot out a build for a powerset I only have a tiny bit of experience with. So much of the secondary, like a lot of buffs are for teammates, which I only encounter every so often because of my often afk-status. It sits at level 1, with nothing done other than just creating it while I try to figure out the build. I figured it should be quite good, but I'm not sure if I'll get the most out of it when solo. Maybe I'll just play it in the evenings. It's really too soon to say what I think about the set, as I'm not even sure what I'm going to slot in it. I do think the Marine Affinity set would be great for a super team to pursue. I think things will melt even quicker than the fire/rad super teams back on retail. (Not backed by any evidence at all)
  19. Yeah, that proves a little smarter than my suggestion, as it doesn't punish poor performance, it just rewards certain behaviors.
  20. I'm not smart enough to be scared! lol
  21. Absolutely. I was just mindlessly going through the notions and felt like there should have been some punitive action for being careless. I completely get how I should have done it. And I also grasp how annoying some of us get with the actions rescued allies and hostages are capable of. There's the midnighter arc where some lady with a gun - Lady Jane, I think, gets a rescue. I always just zip past her, clear the path and rescue her last, because she's a bit like Fusionette and aggro happy - without the hitpoints to protect herself. Doc Deliah is like that, too - only slightly more sturdy. The game has a good 10-20 missions with characters like this, if not more. Usually, they just get defeated, and "medi-port" away, and nothing changes. I just think in a future arc - it could be kind of like a mad libs thing - where if X happens - you do missions 1,2 & 5. And if Y happens, you have to do missions 1,2, 3, 4, and 5. Or something like that. Just talking out loud. Certainly not a big deal.
  22. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15qwbS67DmKU6A7eaIVb2ghU10CpsFBsLjDd7PHo8dVs/edit?gid=0#gid=0 @Ura Hero Shared this link with us quite some time ago. Still works.
  23. More than a couple of times, there have been missions where I've been tasked with rescuing someone, only to see them fall victim to the npcs. Usually not during escort missions, but where they choose to help me. My characters sometimes are in pursuit of xp, and sometimes in pursuit of merits. When in pursuit of XP, often the difficulty is set fairly high. Today, Lady Gray fell victim to an exploding warhulk. I wasn't aware she was even taking damage because there's no way to monitor her hitpoints, unless I keep her targeted - which is hard to do when trying to target npcs. The mission failed, (although the warhulk was the last to go, lol) and Serpent Drummer let his dissatisfaction be known. Fine. But the idea that he's going to proceed with the story arc as if nothing has changed doesn't sit right. He should just say, "You screwed up. I can't trust you, so go kick rocks". Or some kind of consequence. So, I'm not suggesting we change anything in game now, but for future content, if a situation arises where the player is supposed to rescue someone and that someone gets clobbered, there should be some sort of consequence behind it. It doesn't have to be anything special; maybe just turn us all into a dull gull (as opposed to Null the Gull). It can be silly, or it could be just shutting the arc down.
  24. I hate math.
