HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, look at the wanna be dominant Edgelord Hall Monitor! We are all sooo impressed with your outlook, do tell us more of your infinite wisdom!
-
Ah, do what I want, because 'peer pressure'. There is a seriously disturbed mind behind the keyboard thinks tells are an obligation. Does this person think all texts are sacred as well I wonder? Do they lose Likes and Twitter followers if they are not lighting fast to respond to over-eager condescending extroverts like themselves? :) This community has just as many jerks as any other, they just somehow think they are 'right' because they play a Hero. Busy Bodies and Hall Monitors. Just remember, you WON in both of those encounters, IMO, those are not players you want to have as friends. :)

The Future - An Open Letter from the Homecoming Team

You sir, are the epitome of Jerk, if we are listing epitomes. People try and lighten up the conversation and the peer pressure on the HC team and you are the one going to extremes turning that into 'doing nothing', not the other way around. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. -

So go and 'address' them? No one is stopping you, the code is out there. While you might be 'seriously tired' that people are grateful to be able to play over whining about pedantic minutiae, I am 'seriously tired' of the entitled attitude of people like you that call for _others_ to do your bidding while not lifting a finger, other than to type out condescending BS. So, you want it 'fixed'? Go fix it, big guy! -
While I understand one persons humor can be another persons hate all too well, conflating what appear to be two instances where you were offended into 'something bigger' seems to be your intent here...in addition to directly attacking the creative output of another for not being 'good enough' for your approval... The jokes were not to your taste, I get that. From where I stand, you are saying being Gay and being Handicapped are somehow comparable, which I find to be disgusting in it's implication. I know it is proabably not your intent. Sometimes, when it comes to jokes, I find it better to make sure the poeple I think might be offended, are, in fact, offended, is my point. YMMV.

Hey look, someone else who uses homosexuality as a punchline to mock others. Very original and job well done! You should make fun of handicapped people next. I mean, the only thing funnier than the gays are the cripples, amirite? >:( TBH, my buddy I play with daily thinks the 'joke' here is hillarious and crack similar ones all the time... In his words, he is as "queer as a three dollar bill". So, some people don't take offense to every little thing and have a broad sense of humor. YMMV, of course.

Two-fold for me. I get the frustration, life-long gamers IMO should understand that part. You spend time and energy that seems lost, etc. Meeting such frustration with some level of understanding, even while pointing out the delivery was rude, can help some humans get a handle on their emotions. So, I posted what I did. Now, however, after reading the other things the OP has posted on the forum, I have not really been bothered to try and interact with this any further. It is obvious IMO that the OP loves to sling this kind of attitude, that everything is someone elses fault, "cool kids rag on the devs" attitude, so IMO it is a waste of time at this point, as your post alludes... :)

Biggest Douche Move YOU Did or Had Done To?
jubakumbi replied to mysterybounty's topic in General Discussion
This is really the only comment I noticed in this thread that resonates with me. The stories in this thread are the reason my wife and others I have know over the years never play multi-player games. And yeah, I know all the excuses, 'too young to understand', 'it was just a harmless joke', etc. I was bullied from a young age for being kind and gentle. None of this is really even remotely funny from my PoV. Community... -
I would not mind being able to more autocast non-attack skills like Hasten and Domination. I can understand the limits and the botting component, but personal buffs might not break things...

My compliments on the righteous indignation, the promotion of other games, and use of blame for everyone involved. You got a jab in on how lazy everyone working is, one on how weak we all are as players, and made the allusion other MMOs do it all better, in both devs and players. Personally, never did enjoy MMs myself, kind of boring. Hope you find a game you like, or realize there are many more ATs to play in this one and re-apply your wealth of IOs.

So, screenshot of your e-peen to join teams? Kind of like real life for some people... ;)

That's a bit, violently over the top, IMO. Much like in-game, I saw someone on Live claim the people that made the store UI should be put to death...I asked, they meant it...I stopped teaming with them and pretty much stopped running iTrials because that player sort of 'ran the show' on my server at the time... This violent-death-hyperbole against human beings does nothing good for the general gamer image or community, IMO. Passion is awesome, but IMO violent language toward humans over games is not awesome.

Dude. I am already thinking of how we can add proper football (soccer to some) rules and get people to sign up for teams. I think a BRB tournament, expecially if done in a PvP context, would be Awesome. Volley Ball? Pool trickshots into _other_ BRBs? Make the BRB do damage and play carnival games with real Carnival. There are so many Fun things...I do not have an idle mind.

What are your favorite City of Heroes "Dad jokes"?
jubakumbi replied to Robotech_Master's topic in General Discussion
I want them to add a secret badge for getting through a DFB without someone making a Tinder joke. Huh, I have yet to see one, your mention here is the first time it even entered my brain. Married 25 years, not a cheater...so I guess I am not in the demographic... -
And today we commemorate the Great De-Nippling, a sad time in our great City...

C'mon now, not 'you', in my example, and there are many nicer ways people say it, but mean the same thing. :) It _is_ a present attitude among gamers, IMO due to the inherent competitive nature involved, that trying to get others to think a game addition adds no value will get it out of the que for addition to a game. Not that the idea they want is 'better', but that they 'other thing' is 'bad' or outright 'worhtless'. It was said in this thread that the BRB provides no value, 'value' in this instance is entirely subjective, so the statement has little 'value' IMO. Funs Per Second can be increased with a BRB for more than one player. I prefer to advocate for the things that are 'good' about something I am trying to get 'changed', rather than 'tearing down' the ideas of others. Making my desire more attractive, if you will, over making another less so. I am not always successful, but it is my intent. I like to fuel passion, not stiffle it, whenever I can...even if that passion is for something I have no interest in personally. 'We all lift together' is the saying these days, right?

Good read, thanks. Seems DPS meters can have an impact on overall playtime.

I'm not sure how serious you are, but I love moments like these when inspiration strikes. Totally. The Amazing Speculator, a Time/Something/Time prestiditation genius.

This. The Internet crowd often loses sight of is the fact for most people, it is not *gasp* the center of the universe... That would FB.... ;)

Biggest Douche Move YOU Did or Had Done To?

And that is a reasonable stance - I would prefer - over 'your idea has no value'. :) Here is another thought, based on experience. As a developer, you typically have a serveral ideas in your mental que. Lets say one of them is a new AT and the other is the BRB. In thinking of the technical details for implementing both, as those ideas will float around, you realize 'just how' to go and make the BRB work. Then, in the process of getting that itch scratched, it occurs to you how to make the AT work as well. So, lots of ROI from the 'whimsical' addition. None of this is a zero-sum game. Making things work in a code base like this one, from the descriptions, often works in the way I just described, from professional experience. Sometimes, you 'just see' how to get something to work and it rushes out - that is often hard to replicate on demand, regarless of the 'user desirability' for the features involved. The issue I come back to is that people make the code and they are not machines, so it happens as it happens, if you want real creative/innovative quality.

So 18:1 H:V ratio on Justin... For some reason, I suddenly got the idea they are testing changes to make one Villain equal to 15-18 heroes, since the population is so low and that seems like it would be a riot, in more ways than one. :)

I speak in what is possible, not what has been done. The code exists, a passionate geek can create and contribute. To not do something because it has not yet been done or I have not been explicitly told I can, is not an obstacle, IMO. :) This idea of sitting around and waiting for others to tell us what to do is ... something I rail against. :) If you see something you want built, build it. This line of thinking 'wait for someone else to tell me', IMO/IME is just personal FUD that we, as humans, use to excuse ourselves from doing things. :) I will be very suprised to hear that a server runner turns down something a player makes unless it really hurts the game or that servers 'community footprint'. So, from my PoV, until that happens, until player made passion project contributions start getting turned down, then there is no reason not to build stuff and submit... Why wait for permission in a situation like this, when there is no real authority figure involved? :)
