Faceplanting has nothing to do with losing. You can be defeated repeatedly and still successfully complete a mission. I don't speak for anyone other than me but getting "advice" from a "leader" on what I already know how to do doesn't offend me, it's just more pointless than anything else. the comments about looking for validation aren't to make you defensive. If you're taking that way, it pretty much indicates they are right on the money.

So what? Defeat has no meaning in the game outside of badges. I agree with what @jubakumbi on this - sounds to me like you're looking for some sort of validation from people that don't want to listen to what you're saying.

you're assuming others don't know about these "sticky situations" already. you're also assuming they want to handle things the same way you do. Not sure how using the LFG and other channels to invite people to a team is "doing all the work". You're literally pressing a few more buttons than everyone else. it isn't license to tell others how to play or what to do.

And that doesn't entitle you some sort of self imposed rank that requires everyone do as you want them to. Having the star just means you call missions in and get the next one. you're no more knowledgeable or experienced than the next person.

People are under no obligation to listen to you. some may even have closed the chat window to de-clutter the screen.

Yeah character bio doesn't mean squat here, despite being "reassured" to the contrary on the forums. It's the same here as it was on live, if someone reports you you're getting the generic stick no matter what. couple of friends already got hit despite having complete character bios with no mention of the homage source and costumes that are totally different.

So long as those costumes aren't parodies or homages. there is no wiggle room there, despite being told the contrary.

I don't think they had a NDA and "invite only" policy because they were working for years to get the code ready to release to the world. I'm sure there were contingency plans in place for what to do once word got out. This isn't a knock on anyone at homecoming. I think any of us would have done what they did were we in their shoes. But I don't think they were in hiding for years and by coincidence were ready to release the game for all the world to see when someone broke the NDA. regardless, I think we should be happy with what we have and enjoy it while it lasts and thank all of the people running various servers for their effort. For all we know, NCSoft is going to shut it down tomorrow.

I've had a couple of my posts disappear too, even spoken via PM to a couple of other posters about it since theirs seemed to go missing too. Nothing that I saw was breaking any rules either but it's their call on that. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just saying that it does happen. it's their servers so they can do whatever they want. good advice.

No way this can be measured accurately unless you're going to be the only one taunting on a raid under very controlled circumstances. Totally ignores kills made by your teammates from mobs pulled in by others on the raid. These "losses" are easily made up and then some. You can lose agro to another league player just as easily as someone soloing. the problem with hypotheticals like this is that they are hypothetical. 1 guy running around the bowl isn't stealing all the cookies from everyone.

sounds to me like it was the rest of the team who couldn't cut it. stuff happens so better to up your game and adapt.

It's not a legit operation. We all hope that changes but until then, best to remember this isn't a licensed legit operation. the old game forums and company they belong to don't exist anymore. we were never under some lifetime NDA or something.

Marvel doesn't own Thor. they can't. you're more than able to make a character named Thor in game and there isn't a damned thing Disney or Marvel can do about it. just don't make it look exactly like the Marvel version and you're good to go.

Can you directly quote someone who said it was the "most appropriate response"? because that was never said like at all. anywhere. by anyone. You're trying to add a spin to it to fit your interpretation with every silly example you're giving. They all can be interpreted differently base on the individual. it depends on the individual person and their experience. And yeah, the truth does hurt sometimes. truth isn't good or bad, its just the truth.

To some. to others its not, not matter what silly hypothetical examples you can dream up. but if you want to keep trying to say that, go right ahead. nonsense. truth is truth.

I agree with Prototech. the people here quick to jump all over and verbally abuse someone who they deem as being dismissive or unsympathetic to the feelings of others are being just as dismissive and unsympathetic themselves. no one blinks an eye to even consider that the person who replied to the OP might have been offended by what the OP posted. "tough it up snowflake" or "want some cheese to go with that whine?" is being dismissive and unsympathetic. "don't let it bother you" is not. There are happy themed songs written with those as lyrics. People taking that as some kind of negative unsympathetic thing says way way more about them than it does anything else. Sad but this is the age we live in where trigger warnings are required in schools and on social media.

Ha! I got jumped all over and attacked for saying there was code to automatically ban in the game and got yelled at for it by other players on here. looks like those players didn't know how the game code worked after all. anyway, sad to see this get changed because the costumes were fun but its understandable. great idea to use player costumes!
