Tabletop RPGs - man that brings me back. When the players are into it and the GM is someone with personality and imagination, you can have some amazing adventures. I wish more played.

I just learned that you can see your character's stats by clicking menu tab on top of powers popup tray (been only looking at power stats) Doink.

I would say... Yellow and below - not an issue if you pay attention Orange - depends on the enemy, but doable if you have full health and Inspirations/Cooldowns to burn Purple - haven't seen one yet Though I have been caught unawares fighting mobs and a yellow or orange sneaks up behind me and does some controller/etc. move and takes half my health.

The first time I played CoH, it was a few weeks after I started playing Champions Online. So immediately, the graphics bothered me. But as we all know, once you play a bit, you adjust to the style and its not really that bad at all. The first 10-20 levels, I started getting sick of door missions and big open areas I didn't feel were that great. But as I played, more and more, everything is quite robust and I saw how each zone had sooooo much to offer, on top of the different door mission and maps and Tfs and more! I think a lot of new players think that the game is just door instances and open maps with just random mobs. And they leave before things really get good. Imo, that is when you are level 16-22+, when you have a decent set of powers, can run a trial or two or even a taskforce, and have more than just the first couple of zones. I was playing other games so I stopped after a couple of months on and off and that was a year or so before it shut down. Then I came back a few weeks ago, started over with a few characters I spent more time building and by taking my time, I saw how everything was different. I am different. And its such an amazing game that just gets bigger and deeper the further you go. I love that. It really is like the superhero WoW because its massive!! Tons of repeatable missions, 100+ story arcs, dozens of taskforces, strike forces, trials and more. I do want to get base attacks/defenses going again, and wish more would try the PVP zones and the Arena matches. I like how many are not teenagers and are people who have played other mmos and love CoH for everything it does and doesn't have. Imagination is key. A sense of fun is a must. I'm really glad I came back to CoH and now I'll never leave. So the reason I'm here is all the devs and all the amazing players who support the devs - because without Homecoming. there would be no true CoH anymore. And I'm super thankful to be able to play! If doing combo of heroes and villains... 1x Kheldian PB (doubles as blaster/scrapper/etc) 1x Kheldian WS (doubles as blaster/scrapper/etc.) 1x Arachnos Crab (doubles as scrapper/blaster/mastermind) 1x Arachnos Widow (doubles as stalker) 1x Tanker 1x Scrapper 1x Controller 1x Defender That is my 8 man team. I think it will go ok, but I'm still new.

This is amazing. I know I'm late but it's amazing! Thank you for your input and putting this info together. It really helps as a newer player.

It doesn't look good at all. Another one of the Steam games that are unfinished and scraped together with a tiny budget expecting to make money. City of Heroes Homecoming should be the main game you play. And you can also have a lot of fun playing DCUO, Champions Online, and Marvel Rivals - all together you have every possible superhero and supervillain experience you could think of. But CoH has everything.

More costume sets would be great. As well as individual pieces, maybe each enemy Faction could have a set and those pieces would be cool to mix up into our costumes. How are you Snarky? Still king of the forums I see? 🙂 Hope to see you out there! S!

So true. PBs are beasts and will tear shiz up! Melee + Ranged + AOE + KBs + Self Heal + Self Res + Invul mode + 3 different forms to switch between - and thats at level 32, it just gets better from there.

Definitely get the shape shifter powers when available. Being able to switch to full blaster mode for ranged or tankier melee/aoe "lobster" form are very useful. And your main form gets several melee, ranged and aoe powers, as well as self healing and buffs. I have no played Nictus, but as PB, it is the most fun I've had playing CoH. No powerset compares, other than the other epic archetypes. You get tons of power choices, and I think after level 28-30, you can get a self res and then at 30-32 you can get "Light Form" which basically makes you invulnerable for 90secs (massive resists and defense bonuses so enemies do like 5% dmg, if even that for those 90 secs). You can focus on main form powers, or spec into dual-form or tri-form. Then respec in the future, but having those powers to shapeshift are very important. And when you get the shapeshift form, you get all the powers for that form instantly. It's amazingly fun. For leveling as PB, you will mostly be mid-range, stepping in for melee and aoe blasts and using ranged to keep distance. PB is great at taking out multiple enemies at once. Try it and have fun!

I missed out on enjoying CoH when it was live and only played a few months before and after Going Rogue released. We need to come together and get everything going again. Supergroup Base battles, PVP on all maps, costume contests, races, duels, anything - this is such an amazing game and once you get used to the graphics, it really opens up. Thanks for everything! I've had more fun playing Homecoming than I did CoH when live! Great community too! There is sooooooooo much content, especially if you are like me and take your time to see and do everything. I have my one Kheldian and my one Arachnos and I'm set for life. I was part of a SG but was away for a year due to family concerns and now I'm back! Hoping to reconnect again and kick some butt! I hope to see you all out there again soon!

On a regular slot, you can choose Head > Special Helmets This will give you access to the arachnos wolf, crab/bane and widow/fortunata helmet appearances. And you can use the arachnos cape too. But other than those two things, every costume part is locked and only available got the 1st slot. I do hope they change this because I'd like to have one spec as bane and one spec as crab, each using different but similar arachnos-themed costumes. Fingers crossed...

So you know, the fastest way is to go to P2W vendor and get Double XP (temp power) and then que for Death From Below. Each run is about 30 mins long and you can get up to level17 or so from just a couple runs. If not wanting to do that, then you can do missions while XP buff is active. When doing missions, try to fight any enemies you see nearby, as these can add up over time as well. Good Luck and welcome back! I'll be going crab on my arachnos soldier soon. There is nothing wrong with using the word "twink" to describe low level characters that you make as powerful as possible. Yes, some use it to describe young gay guys but that does not mean it is not a viable term in the mmo space.

I was going to do the same thing. One hero and one villain. But there are missions/contacts listed at certain levels that are off in wiki, depending on how long you take to get to that part of contact mission and when mission is started. So I'm just leveling normally and doing all I can and then I can go back for any arcs I missed and complete them through Oroboros. As much as I want to experience all content, I don't want to miss one mission and then it throws everything out of whack and have to do it all over again. Maybe I'll go slow on different characters and just do a 5 level or 10level bracket perfect so after a few characters, it'll add up to have seen everything. Points for the attempt though. You got further than I did.

Think about it. There are millions of mmo players that play other moms. Many who have never played CoH. And then there are millions of console players who have pcs but never played an mmo or coh. And then there are even more millions who have pcs that would play CoH and mmos if they knew about them. Because WE play mmos and know about mmos, we think all people do. But that is not the case. And many people who play mmos only play just one mmo and don't go on forums or news sites to find out about other mmos because they are too busy playing their mmo. Many mmos will promote to players who are already playing one or multiple other mmos, so promoting to them doesn't peel many yo CoH and those that do come try CoH are already jaded and burnt out from how they play other mmos So we need fresh blood. So yup, CoH could get millions if new players. If every player would put up a CoH Homecoming social post just once a week, that will bring a lot of new players. Try it out and you will see! Thank you sooo much Lauci! I did not know that. I thought the form was a ball of energy or something lol. OK, so unlike other toggles when in human form, I can toggle light form in human form and then it will stay active as Nova or Dwarf? That's badass! I'm lvl 25 now so halfway there. It's too fun so I don't lock xp. I just enjoy the game and when I get to 50, i can go back on Oro to do any missions I missed. Mainly hero story arcs. Loving Kheldian PB!!!! I hope people still do groups for GMs. I have yet to experience any GM or zone events, other than steel canyon building fires. Where in North kings row can I find Paladin bot?

Supergroup Base Battles still exist, so they items of power are good for that, even if they don't provide the buffs. Or do they? Muahahahaha!
