  1. It's been made abundantly clear that most people around here don't want that.
  2. This. Also, it's impossible to mimic in game her ability to partially phase another person, say their leg, into the ground and then let go. You do NOT want to mess around with Dark Shadowcat.
  3. Tab-F-1-2-3 repeat has been how I've played CoH since the first day I played it. Follow will always get you into melee range if you're on the ground and the target is not running away from you, where it will always fail even if you're running 10x as fast. It will always fail to do so if you're hovering. If often works if you have Fly on due to drift unless you've otherwise killed drift.
  4. Said every majority to every minority throughout human history.
  5. Hope springs eternal. And then gets whack-a-moled by reality.
  6. But at that point, it's important to go all in and slot for max KB. And then invite me to your team one night so I can play something that grooves properly with it and it will absolutely be a frellin hoot. This is not sarcasm. Every manner of all X whatever teams in this game are freaking awesome. I'd happily bring my PB or Emp/Nrn Defender on one of those.
  7. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that mindset. I have sg mates that only slot the kb-kd io in aoe powers. Hell, even I see the benefit of KB when I'm solo. Let's not forget that my first character ever and still main had knockback in shockwave for YEARS before I was given the option to change it to KD. This is precisely why player choice should matter. This is why a global IO to change all KB to KD (or even an All Knock is Disabled option) is desired, be it an IO or a Null the Gull option.
  8. My only argument lay below. Electric Shackles has better DPA than BOTH Snap and Aimed Shot. Hard to make the argument that it's not supposed to be considered a damage attack. Especially considering that these three attacks are the ones you get to use while mezzed. And this is NOT only the case with archery/atomic. They just happen to be the first in the list with Mids due to alphabetical order. Edit: But of course I agree that the highest damage attack chain probably doesn't use any of them.
  9. It's still a CC power. Knock is CC. Be it down, up or back. They can't attack me when they're on their back. Changing it to down and adding damage procs makes it actually useful for a blapper so that I can follow it with EP and BS. Absolutely zero difference in that than procing out any other non-damaging power, like Infrigidate (yay, I finally spelled it correctly.)
  10. You've made me realize that I was assuming drop rates were affected in the same way as XP... and we all know what happens when we assume things.
  11. I'm starting to believe that Darkest Night and Fold Space need to be taken on every tank/brute I build. Edit: Gloom and Tport Other are damn nice as well.
  12. We've all had our "oh gods below, what have I done now" moments.
  13. Yup. My fire/nrg blaster had the KB-KD IO in power thrust as soon as I was able to slot it. Why would I want to knock enemies away from my other melee attacks? Not if it's applied to every power. Yes, it would be a horrific pain in the ass to code, obviously, but energy blast could be made where each attack was a choice that nullified the other choice. I choose either Nrg Bolt w/ KB or Nrg Bolt w/o. Continue on for every blast. +0/x6 with light form on auto and permaed? Sure, I can absolutely see that working. Thus the request for a new IO that does the global fix. It leaves OF and SA KB-KD alone to use granularly for those that want it and a new one that fixes the issue for an entire set so EBlast and PBs aren't unduly punished slot-wise.
  14. Just as we can kick people from teams for using KB or quit from said teams for the same. Just as we can start playing a given powerset and finding that it lags behind other powersets in performance and complain about them on the forums and find that sometimes they actually get fixed.
  15. Can we at least cut the damn difference? Make it so you only need one of the damn IOs per build so that peacebringers and energy blast users don't need 5 or more? Is even that too damn much to ask? Edit: Or the creation of a new one so that those who want to shut it down on only one power can continue as is?
  16. Fair enough. My apologies. The devs could, yes. And they could do it without the IO tax. We know we can choose Master Brawler instead of Practiced Brawler on Sentinel SR, so too, could we choose knock and non-knock versions of the same power. Edit: But we both know: ain't nobody got time for that. Concerning Peacebringers... if anything in this game DESERVED some gorram power creep, it'd be Kheldians.
  17. Truth is truth. My hatred of it has indeed grown over time. Probably in direct correlation with how much I play my peacebringer. It was also never a problem for me on live since I soloed 99% of the time where now I'm teamed far more often.
  18. That's probably because most of the time it absolutely feels like trolling. Even when I'm on my PB and I click Dawn Strike accidentally, sending the entire spawn flying because I don't have room for that damn KB-KD IO yet. And yet when any of my SG does it, we giggle it off, everyone takes the blame for doing it from time to time and, yet, even that light-hearted response shows that everyone is thinking the same damn thing: "yea, funny, amusing, haha, still annoying." Edit: I've been informed that the word "everyone" is false and some just find it damn funny all the time. And then you have the folks that actually get off on being annoying with KB/repel. But at least we can gignore them or quit teams that have them around.
  19. I'll be sure to throw mud at you the next time we're playing in the rain together. Oh, sorry, you're in your prom dress and didn't want to get dirty at that particular moment? Oh well.
  20. So you admit that the enhancement tax on knockback powers is a real thing while declaring that knock is a detrimental effect put in place specifically to balance a given power's overall effect. And yet energy blast's (the entire set) damage is one of the few that follow the original damage/end/rec equations (mostly) so in that case it's just being penalized by your own logic. Are there powers that would become useless were the player to choose a Null option that disables all knock and repel? Yes, of course, and it would be insane to choose to take a power that relied on knock/repel and then choose to disable those features. As for players being ostracized if they choose to play a peacebringer or energy blast user without disabling knock, guess what, we're all being affected now. I'm affected every time I have to waste a slot turning KB into KD. I'm affected every time someone blasts a spawn out of my damage patch, aoes, taunt aura, etc. I'm affected every time someone is running repulsion field while sitting next to the main aggro manager. Why are only YOUR feelers important here? I have my coffee, Lumi... what's your excuse?
  21. It really shouldn't be. It's a game. Vast majority of us play it for fun and escapism and when our fun gets shit on by other players or game mechanics we're left with few options. The psychotic aversion some people have to allowing a fair option to be rid of a nuisance is what continues to surprise me. So if the new problem is "you just want your cake and to eat it too," fine, make the Null version disable knock across the board on a character. No knock, no repel. Edit: No up, no down. Sounds great.
  22. "Have you tried not being a mutant?" (I'm doing my damndest to avoid being political here.) Edit: Quotes added. This is a line from a movie. I'm not implying that Luminara is a mutant. In case there's any confusion...
