You get Defense, Heightened HitPoints which automatically equates to more Regen, static DamRes that can be built up with SetIO bonuses, +Damage from AAO, a Team Defense Buff, an Extra AoE and the second best DDR in the game if you doublestack AD. Little bit different than you describe.

Thanks for lookin, @Bopper I did hop on beta (so as not to offend the zone crowds) and tried out ageless instead of barrier. Saw no substantial difference in kill time. And yea, small gaps I don't notice since I silenced the not ready sound. -

Can someone explain to me how clearing pylons before a raid starts is in any way detrimental to the raid? They have less to take down before the shields drop and pylons offer no rewards for defeating them. Edit: I came up with only one way I'd consider it griefing: if I dropped the shields 10 minutes before they had the league built. That'd be rude. Ok, each pylon does grant 3 vanguard merits. And due to the way timing is, it can be a pain for a league to take down all the pylons if the first one was taking down way too early. As per folks in game. -

Before slot changing, I had 3 runs. 78 secs, 73 sec, 77 sec. After swapping Sup Crit Strikes into ET, the Hecatombs and ToD proc into TF, and pulling the Def/End/Rec LotG from Weave and replacing it with the Kismet +6% chance to hit, I killed three more pylons: 75 sec, 78 secs, 82. This last run has an odd number of misses. Tests were all identical. Hit barrier, hit hybrid assault, fly in, start timer as I click 1st ET. Buildup is used after TF in the hopes that it covers all of ET-MB-BS-ET. Now, obviously I need to do about 50 more pylons with each config to get proper data, but I'm not seeing any gains here. -

Ugh. Of course you're right... lemme guess, all the extra +Acc I currently have is doing absolutely nothing for the fast-snipe's damage, right? Could have sworn I tested swapping ET/TFs enhancements and it made things worse but I can't trust my memory anymore. -

I think I may have forgotten that ET doesn't cost end. Mine's basically the same. Energy Transfer-Long (5 Hecatomb (no damage-only) and the Touch of Death Proc) TF (Full set of Super Crit Strikes) ET-Short Moonbeam (5 Apocalypse (no damage-only) and the Glad Javelin Proc) Bonesmasher (First 5 Super Scrap Strike and another ToD Proc) The passive crit bonus from Super Scrap Strike sits in Energy Punch and isn't on my tray unless I exemplar down enough to need it. Chain is probably tight enough that replacing the Dam-Recs in ET and MB with Dam-only will work but I never got around to checking. Also never +5ed my purples apparently. How many seconds does that knock off for a pylon run? Edit: Can't go to dam-only on ET. Just barely has enough recharge now for ET-TF-ET. Edit2: +5ed my purples, swapped out the dam-rec for dam-only in moonbeam, smacked a pylon: 1min 18sec. Will have to test more but think that's 10-15sec gain. -
And the HP buff increases your regen which just chugs along all the while.

Around 3 mins. Barely slower than my claws/sr scrapper (2:45) who took twice as long to get through the same ITF. My em/bio scrapper sits around 1.5 mins on a pylon but can't survive the same ITF. Then tanks shouldn't have been buffed. Agreed but by less of a margin than tanks are to every other AT. Agreed. It should be changed from 6.7% resist per stack to 1.675% defense and 3.35% resist per stack. -

My 1:20 ITF no temps/no insps/no cheats/max diff time with my shield/nrg tank disagrees. Edit2: Ya, I know nothing will beat a team of 8 corruptors... we're not talking about that. We're discussing how stupid it is that a tank with its mitigation values can pull that off. Edit2: And yes, that IS my fastest time with any character I have. Those with lesser mitigation waste time trying to survive. -

So it should never be team buff oriented. A berserker class in CoH should be all about absorption and +damage. SR's rolling with the punches scaling damres also makes sense. I'd dig a set based on these principles especially if the +damage was attack speed+incoming damage based. -
We have powers available to avoid walking slowly towards enemies. We have powers available to bring enemies to the player. We have powers available to close distance to the enemy. No specific powerset it needed. I will not deny that I never take the scrapper single target taunt. It's 100% useless to me thanks to all the other available choices. This request is ridiculous. Edit: Quite frankly, I'm glad there's always a power to skip in my primary. Even happier when there's more than one since I build for optimal attack chains using only 3 attacks for ST and/or AoE. Edit2: I mean holy hell, slap an endred in sprint and leave it on and learn to use tab/f/attack. Jeebus christos.

I get your point but we are still gamers. Many of us play other games. CoH isn't the only MMO I've ever played but it is the only one I've played for longer than a month. I just don't find any of it relevant to the point that forum regulars are some psychotic offshoot of humanity with no relation to the gaming population as a whole. Take 100 non-forum goers and dump them into the forums and they're going to end up having the same opinions we already read around here not because the forum somehow creates a hive-mind but because there's only so many opinions that can exist. Farming: It's either bad, good or irrelevant. Tank changes: They're either over the top, brought tanks in line with the other melee sets or they still aren't enough. Sure, I'll grant that a forum regular will have more knowledge in general with regards to the mechanics of the game and the general goings on but we're all still just people playing the game.
