  1. A claws/wp brute is a non-stop blender. You've got the most balanced attack set (on the ST vs AoE front) coupled with The gogoneverstopnothingtoclick armor. I've run a couple to 50 and then deleted them so I could do it again. Yea, Claws isn't the best at ST or AoE damage and WP isn't all that tough at the bleeding edge but the fun they bring together on the way there makes up for it.
  2. I do NOT recommend a claws/willpower brute as one's first character in CoH. After that, everything's a complete slug slogging away through sludge. 🙂
  3. I got tired of ruling in Hell and being part of its bureaucracy. The whole point of coming to Paragon was to get my hands bloodied properly again.
  4. I deleted it. Don't have any seismic blast users at the moment. Or any kinetics either.
  5. Nasty Nobodies Online? Sounds like it's dead out of the gate.
  6. Buff-Debuff/Armor archetype. Strong as hell but solo leveling is painfully slow. /joke, I've seen it mentioned, no clue what it is. I still want my assault/armor AT. Tried to make one using a Sentinel with fighting pool. It sucked.
  7. There's a huge difference between "playable and enjoyable" and actually good. Regen is playable and enjoyable for many people regardless of how much it actually sucks in comparison to the other armors.
  8. Since I'm on the topic... it's something that's gnawed at me here in HC. Take Shadow Maul from Dark Melee. Since its last change, the hit effects on the enemy are no longer in sync with the punches and it's jarring every time I see it. I'm not gonna pretend I know anything about animation or character models or any of it because I don't but I do see what appears to be a lessened level of care in changes made on this front when compared to the OG animation team. And it's not something I'm looking forward to seeing more of. Edit: damn apostrophes
  9. Just looked at gameplay footage for City of Titans and Valiance... they also suffer from the same complete clunky ugliness on the animation front.
  10. Edit: Overly mean. I love CoH's animations. I wouldn't play SoH based on the video below.
  11. I'd rather see the whole thing ported into UE5 and rebalanced.
  12. Today was the first morning in ages that I've logged on. For quite a while now, the extent of my game time was logging in maybe once a week for a single TF at night, then right back off. My brother and I discussed this, as he hasn't logged on in over 5 months, and it appears that while we were both ecstatic for the return of CoH, we've both gotten from it about all we can. I don't think this is something that can be fixed and much less fixed with curbing farming or adding more stuff. The game is old. It feels old. It looks old. It has old design philosophies. It has an old playerbase. I suspect the vast majority of us are only around due to nostalgia. It'll be around this time until it's not again. I'm grateful that BZB was able to live once more but I've no illusions about the future.
  13. Doublechecked. Still 7 hours of dbl xp left. It could be senility. Maybe it was always 33 and I'm not remembering correctly. Now that I'm pondering it, maybe it was 10 maps to 40 then another 10 to 50 and I rarely stopped after just 5.
  14. Since I began fire farm PLing, I follow the same route. Get double XP, street sweep to 6. Join SG. Go to Talos. Run 5 maps of Brigg's fire farm. New character is now 35. This morning, however, I did exactly that, and the new character just barely dinged 33. Anyone have an explanation? Edit: Explanation found. My memory sucks.
  15. ohh... tentacle PIE.... /leaves disappointed
  16. This is why my floppy drive is USB.
  17. Inf is split after being buffed by number of players on team.
  18. Yea, I can grok that.
  19. I ended up going the other way. Being able to fully trick out a new 50 with purps/pvps/other sets and then T3 all in less than 8 hours of gameplay ended up causing me to go back to slow leveling and, lately, just playing Cyberpunk instead. Hell, actually buying IOs and slotting them was more time consuming than leveling and unlocking incarnate powers. But for two years, I was absolutely on that alt-account-farmer ride and it was good. Side thought: I really don't get the folks asking for more door sitters. More than two on the team drastically kills leveling speed of the alt you're getting to 50.
  20. It's a non-issue. After softcapping, build for +resist and +HP, then natural regen and the various heal/absorb procs more than cover the HP loss.
  21. Negative. Just because you're playing with yourself doesn't change the fact that you're duoing the game. Might as well consider 8 boxing soloing which most can do with even moderately decent rigs theses days.
  22. But that's the point. On melee, there's no fumbling through anything, there's no slowing down, there's just wading through the masses with no need for situational awareness or tactics. There's burn farms, then there's melee in standard content, then there's everybody else lagging behind. The situation changes dramatically as the team size becomes greater than 1, of course, but solo? Nah, no blaster is going to outpace a meleer from 1 to 50 there.
