  1. Tight attack chains using the highest DPA attacks backed by solid slotting, often with procs, and layering on more damage and/or debuffs from the incarnate powers. But it's all lies until you can solo a +4 Aeon in the MLTF with no insps, temps or amps! ... He always kicks my ass. /runs away sobbing
  2. It's a superhero game. We ignore the laws of physics all the time.
  3. Then we'll keep hitting it until we've broken it down to its base molecules... nay!... to its base quarks!
  4. You could also go nuts and build a ranged scrapper. After SR was nerfed to the dirt way back in the old days but before the scaling resists were added, I was running my claws/sr scrapper utilizing nothing but focus and shockwave from claws along with Dark Blast, Night Fall and Tenebrous Tentacles from Dark Mastery. It wasn't great but it did keep me alive during those dark days.
  5. Want more damage? Go bio. Want to be tough as nails? Go shield.
  6. Thanks, but the snipes are right out for me. I know everyone says that there's no change in overall animation time with the no redraw option but it's still too jarring for me to go between weapons and non-weapon attacks. Edit: And I've never bought the line that chain times don't increase when redraw is a factor.
  7. So far I've been sticking with the following on any character with which I do pylon runs. T4 Assault - Core for scrappers/blasters/stalkers/sents, Radial for the rest. I always click this to start my runs. T4 Degen Core for the -HP. T4 Musc Core. I was made to realize I wasn't tracking average pylon times on my spreadsheet so I'm attempting to get that updated. So far: BZB Scrap still sits right around the 3min mark, as does my fire/time blaster, who obviously needs some ST chain analysis. Surely, she can do better than that. BZB Brute hovers around 4mins, with BZB Tank at around 4.5mins. Shield/NRG tank can get as low as 3mins if I saturate AAO with monkeys, but pretty sure sits around 3.5mins usually. Added amps to test the ITF the other day and can't retest until they burn out. Best times for me so far have come from my claws/bio scrapper who is currently hovering around 1.75 but could probably be better if I included eviscerate... which I just can't make myself do. Don't currently have an em/bio scrap on live but the one I tested on beta sat around 1.5. All this leads to a question: If I'm solo and never hitting the damage cap, is there ever a good reason to choose assault radial over core? Does the old rule of AT Dam Mod < 1 go radial still hold true or should I be running core on AT Dam Mod > .9 or some other value? Or is it all just test at see at this point?
  8. I'm not as hardcore as @Werner If I'm just in my normal meditation mode, I don't buff enemies and the debuff self mode is always bit too masochistic for me. I did once accidentally turn off enhancements. It became hilarious after I figured out WHY I was faceplanting in seconds with the 1st spawn.
  9. Biggest problem with DM for me is that the best attack chain involves left handed animations. Very boring to watch.
  10. Side note on this: Gloom's damage is DoT but it's also usually vastly better DPA damage than most brutes/tank attacks. This becomes relevant when you're pounding on hard targets like AVs and Pylons. Example: My shield/nrg tank uses ET(slow)-TF-ET(fast)-Gloom-BS as her attack chain because gloom is better DPA than any of the other nrg attacks. And now I'm rambling because I know other folks are getting better DPS adding more attacks but proc-monstering everything they use.
  11. You are most definitely not misremembering. V is always my self heal or most important click mitigation. For the BZBs it's Practiced Brawler since Hasten is on auto. T, Y and U are buffs like aim and buildup or conserve power. B and N go into play on heavy clicky sets like bio where there's 3 "heals" in play.
  12. Tab to new target and hit F for follow. As mentioned, this fails when hovering but not when on the ground. Thus my heightened run speed. Edit: I really should remap Tab for targetenemynear.
  13. I have long stated, regardless of the times that SR just plain fails (Rularru (sp?) and autohit fluffies and the like,) that the greatest strength of SR was never getting hit with debuffs. And then shield came along with its 87% DDR with double stacked active defense and +damage aura and better HP and then I got a sad. Edit: And people wonder why I bitch so much about intra-AT balance.
  14. MANUALLY?!!?!? What kind of psychotic heresy is this?!!? You're losing SOOOO much DPS! 🙂
  15. Interesting. I'm guessin you loaded up on slow resistance? When I attempted it with rad armor, I found it was just as squishy as fire armor but in both cases I wasn't built for max slow resist nor was I chugging ageless for what little DDR it provides.
  16. I use hover for fighting things that fly and as a mule for an LotG +recharge. But 99.9% of the time, I'm on the ground. *IF* hover actually got me into melee range properly after a Tab-Follow, I'd be far more likely to use it more but as that will not apparently ever happen....
  17. Nope. My sr/claws tank is amazing. Only problem I have with SR is its complete lack of +damage. If I could build a shield/claws tank, I would.
  18. If I was triggered, you'd know it and I'd get another ban. What we're attempting to get you to see is that the desire to socialize in game rewards is BAD game design because all it accomplishes in the end is a very boring game where no one bothers to push the limits because there is no worthwhile reward for doing so.
  19. And yet speed runs are specifically done so that those doing them can farm merits at a vastly accelerated rate compared to those doing the content "normally." Why should the speed runners be punished?
  20. All playstyles include running no enhs at base diff versus fully loaded T4 with accolades running max diff. You are stating that one should get the same rewards over time as the other. So, yea, no strawman, this is what you are saying and it's absolutely ridiculous.
  21. In what games are you seeing this "rewards are equal regardless of effort put in" concept?
  22. Yes, you must complete missions, get badges or defeat enemies to get rewards. What other playstyles are you speaking of? Are you stating that standing around pocket d roleplaying should grant rewards? Or are you stating that the guy running at +1/x1 with SOs should get the same rewards over time as the guy completing the same mission in 1/10th the time? And if so, how is that remotely fair to anyone? Why should I be punished?
  23. Harm no other and do as ye will. <- Chaotic Neutral Once I see tangible proof of harm being done to the community at large from farming, I might listen. But "wahh, I'm poor cuz I don't farm" ain't gonna cut it.
  24. What, exactly, is arbitrary about getting xp and inf for defeating enemies? And what, exactly, is wrong with being rewarded more for being more efficient at dispatching said enemies?
  25. There are server transfers...
