Unslotting them requires merits or money. And the enhancements/their recipes need to be bought and/or crafted, of which most players don't commit to for the reason I posted above. Too much of a investment for some alt that might not survive the trip to 50. Slap a Zephyr at the travel power of your choice and be done with it. IO's are fine starting at 22, and before that you can just use Offense/Defense/Survival Amps that cost you 1k/hour when hitting the vendor at level 1.

Why don't you play on the Villain Side?

I mean, I am all for more Red Side folks coming around. Maybe I should start a Red Side Weekend and have them come over for some sweet missions and Strike Forces. -
City of Heroes Things you find annoying
Paradox Fate replied to hyacathinose's topic in General Discussion
Hate it especially on snipe powers, which you think have a 100% accuracy due to their wind-up. Also, Gears coming from clockwork bosses, which always have to be killed on kill-alls. Synapse is such a pain with them. Then there are enemies getting stuck in cave walls due to someone knocking them against those. I am looking at you, Storm Summoners with Gale on level 1, pushing the Lost around in DFB. -
More surprised that the supply of enhancement converters doubled over the amount of demand on the market. I am pretty sure that was the other way around a week or so ago.

I gave it a look through, and it seems pretty nice! I'll try to make that work for me. Thank you very much!

I figure I go for a balanced build, but if you can squeeze in some DPS that wouldn't be bad, although TW hits like a truck from what I saw on the first 20 levels. 🙂

Figured I give tankers a spin again after the retirement of my Invuln/SS back on Live. After the new changes and a quick inquire, I was going for Electric Armor/Titan Weapons. Anything specific I should leave out from those sets and someone that got a build for me to go with? Appreciate the help.

I miss more Sinister Plots where I can gather puzzle pieces for 'The Plan' and then put this all in motion once the pieces are all in place. Aside that you can rise up to be a equal to Lord Recluse, you still remain on the Rogue Isles instead of just stomp out your own base somewhere else. I know that 'Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.' mentality, but I do rather have some freedom when it comes to drop off the radar to establish my own seat of power. Another issue is probably me trying to find decent groups to run missions with. Positron and Manticore TF's are being done by the dozen, but getting a group for Mortimer Kal SF up and running? That's some hella work. Also, the enemies on Red Side seem to be more 'varied' in their types and make it harder to fight them. Arachnos is one of those that keep a main presence and their Fortunatas really can ruin someone's day with a unlucky hit. At the endgame, it's Longbow with their stacking(?) 5 million sticky and sonic grenades. -
Thing is, does a blaster even need something like Short Circuit and a pet? Wouldn't it better to make that SC a Location AoE on surfaces, which then gets saturated by electric currents that perform the same endurance drain like SC, but also with the damage of like Fire Rain? And for Voltaic Sentinel, maybe a Short Range attack that jumps over to others, like Chain Induction does on Elec Melee?

Personal Issue with AE and the slower slog of normal content.
Paradox Fate replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
Some content could use a bit of fine tuning to make it more bearable to go through it. Case in point: Synapse Task Force with those Defeat All missions, where you have to even finish off those smaller gears that pop out of the Princes. Just annoying and needlessly time-consuming. -
I had hoped more came out of that during the arc, really. You know, 'one hand washes the other' and the kind. Unless I missed it out, I wouldn't have bothered pulling him from the PPD when not getting a favor from the Council.

Yeah, it's a VERY weird discussion. When people on Reddit, these forums, or in help chat ask for the strongest melee builds, do the responses contain Super Strength? Not all. Spines/Fire, Electric/Shield, whatever/whatever--but not SS. Where are the nerf calls for the sets that create the most effective melee builds in the game? But instead of looking at the over-performers, a number of posters in this thread want to take an already mediocre set and make it weaker. That depends on which AT the powersets take. Without a doubt that Spine/Fire is a Brute favored (farm-)set, while Electric/Shield gives Scrappers the most benefit in terms of burst. While the latter is something that is accepted, the former is that Brutes are able to completely replace the tankers after a certain level and outperform them vastly due to Fury. But that's another issue for a different thread. -

Then maybe it's time to adjust some of the numbers in the SS powerpool and, in return, rage gets a downtune to be a regular build-up. -

super strength was extremely sub par in damage until you got rage. rage took it from being an extremely meh power set to playable/great. -20% defense is pretty nuts If the people think the viability and existence of a whole combat powerset hinges on a single, non-attack power, then you know there is something that needs to be done about it. -

SS has good amount of crowd control along with being a relative easy to go by set. It's simple and the animations/feedback feel good and impactful. -

Not that showcasing one set in your avatar means anything... But he would be correct. Your suggestion completely ignores the fact that all of SS is balanced with Rage in mind. And that without it SS would suffer terribly in the end-game due to Smashing damage being so frequently resisted. That's also the 'problem' of Titan Weapons, Street Justice, Martial Arts and Staff Fighting. Don't single out SS because of that. -

What is the purpose and perk of Super Strength if it has Build Up just like every other melee attack set? Because, maybe, it should be handled like any other melee attack set? Pretty sure any other set would love to have a perma build-up running, while they just sit with their 10 second one. -

I think straight up removing it would have to come with some other downside. The thing we want to avoid is it becoming a "just set it on auto and forget about it" power, as that runs counter to the intent of both the original design and Castle's redesign of it. Even removing the damage penalty (due to the mentioned smashing resist issues) isn't out of the question if we can come up with some kind of alternative mechanic. If the -Defense has to stay, it seems simplest to let it be resistable. I firmly disagree with this. I would point to the suggestions I made in my post on page 5 instead, and the reasoning behind why a defense downgrade at all would be completely unacceptable. There's many other options. I don't think making Rage only viable for defense-focused sets that can easily overcap is a good idea. Then make it a regular 10 second build up. That will work across all AT's. Once SS is proliferated over to Scrappers, it needs to be done anyway. -

You could also reduce the animation duration during the 10 second build up, making it basically a quick violent lash out to cause extra damage. It would fit as well, because when enranged, enemies in various mmo's tend to hit harder and faster. -

Paradox Fate replied to MalphiteMeIRL's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I AM serious. Rage is difficult to balance when you can just skip the crash and get a free, two-minute and stackable buildup while everyone else just gets a 10 second version of that. So they could tune it down to match it the others, and any crashes would disappear. All while you keep your quick boost of damage and to-hit for important moments. -
Turning it into a regular build-up would be better, and removes any drawback associated with it.

Perhaps turn it into a regular Build-Up power instead? Keep the damage and to-hit bonus, but limit the duration to 10 seconds with a 90 second cooldown, but with no drawbacks.
