  1. Perhaps it was CoHSplasher, which I think was the same tool some of us used to replace things like the launch/login screen with our own art. I do not believe the tool has been updated.

  14. Yes, that's the setting I was asking about. Never hurts to check. Are you trying to play the actual Atlas Plaza music file that plays in the game or is it one you made yourself with that name? Is " AtlasPark_AtlasPlaza " what you are typing in? So /sg_music AtlasPark_AtlasPlaza The command itself is rather stupid sometime and won't tell you if that is not an actual sound file in the game. Try one of these: AtlasPlaza N_AtlasPlaza
  15. This is from more recent gameplay, not Legacy CoH. So I like to modify my sounds. I was doing a Mortimer Kal run and we were in the warehouse where we fight Mercedes Sheldon and Montague Castanella and I could faintly hear a sound, thought it was coming from someone else's mic, like a puppies in the background. Then I started laughing after realizing that I had changed the sound of glowies to yapping hyenas, and there were about 8 crates in the room.
  16. I get the sense that some folks don't actually want to use any of the often suggested tools. What they want is for the mechanics to be changed to cater to their own inflexibility. There are times that I really wish that the game had a random name generator.

  18. Legacy CoH also had more than 10x the amount of players. The Homecoming team also has a strategy in place for freeing up names on unused character that will be more aggressive than the Legacy version.
  19. I am also in the unique names camp. I find the "All the good names will be gone." argument to ring hollow, "good names" is completely subjective. What one person thinks of as a "good name" others might see as mundane. Legacy CoH was live for over 8 years and people were still capably of creating "good names" for their characters. Did people have to crack open a thesaurus for names? Likely. Did people have to use words from foreign language for names? Probably. To me, folks that lock themselves into a single word or idea for a name are like drives tailgating some slow-poke in the fast lane when there are three empty lanes available to pass said slow-poke. I am more than willing to use the empty lanes to pass the tailgater and the slow-poke. An example of a past experience for me (on Legacy) with regards to finding a name for a character when my first choice wasn't available for an Ice/Dark Controller: My first name attempt: Black Ice Yeah, totally not shocked that it was taken and was annoyed at not getting it for all of about 15 seconds. So I spent a few minutes think of alternatives for each word and eventually made my second attempt: Sable Drift I felt fortunate the my first attempt was unavailable as I found it to be rather mundane to the name my character eventually ended up with.
  20. As in functionality-wise, they appear to work. If someone submits a vote, then the poll updates to show. Never having created a poll, not sure how they appear to the creator.
  21. If I remember correctly the Legacy Dev team tried as well and it was a limitation on the UI itself, the window itself is limited and when they attempted to increase text limit it broke the UI. Likely similar to the experience @Zolgar mentioned above.

If it were only easier to identify these sounds. 😞 Been trying for a month to locate the appropriate sound file name for Lightning Field's loop sound, the hum that continues after being activated. Modifying neither lightningfield or lightningfield2 affects the in-game sounds. SR's Focused Fighting hum has been equally difficult to identify. The sound 'glow7_loop' seems to be identical, but modifying it had no effect.
