are you reading my mind? i’d be comfortable with all those changes there is a misalignment of expectations when people load up an MMORPG and try to play it like a plug and play FPS in my opinion. melding the game into the latter spoils it for the majority who want to be immersed in a system of investment and progression

you have no idea that you are taking part in a discussion about AE and the need to provide data?
-
think everyone is still waiting for you to show us the data mate can you also provide stats on what percentage of the playerbase would leave if AE was removed and what price IOs would be? without evidence these are baseless claims and merely unproven hypothetical situations
-
numerical balance is one way to look at it, the other and less tangible discussion is how much access to rewards such as incarnates should people receive for essentially not playing the game i would support AE not providing progression to unlocking incarnates as i see them as the “ultimate” final powers. having incarnates accessible only through trials and incarnate content (which the latter could do with a buff to increase challenge) is in-line with the significant benefits incarnate powers bring in my view
-
because you asked to see data on inf sources by content type a few minutes ago, shown below influence is one of the attributes in discussion, a lot of the conversation though has focused mostly around progression and access to incarnate abilities via AE play. there's a question of balance as AE is perceived to be an outlier in terms of reward compared to standard game content. this thread is a spin-off from the focused feedback thread where there are some minor changes to reward post-50 within AE, rather than the upcoming changes seeking to remove AE or hinder people's ability to hit 50 through using AE

what has changed in the last 5 hours since being provided with that data?
-
well, wait no more

woosh..

good idea

it seems to be a shock to some people that a lot of people enjoy.. playing the game..

no, repetitive activities is grinding, farming is where the gain is optimised for speed/efficiency

i had a go at the ITF solo on Rugged difficulty, first on a dark/dark/dark tank and then an ice/shield/elec scrapper the new difficulty setting increases the difficulty quite noticeably - the added attacks from the enemies creates an additional challenge via the debuffs applied and i can see it requiring support ATs a lot more, as opposed to filling a team with DPS characters and hoping for the best shield has always been quite weak in the ITF, the resistance based tank survived a lot better - hopefully this will be a new age for resistance based characters and buffs looking forward to running it on max difficulty on live when it comes out. i often run an ITF most evenings, having a new challenge to it will be really exciting

the market already has price caps in place for IOs through the various seeding in place and merit conversion. prices can be capped through further seeding if required
-
in your view, what are the reasons they lost interest in the game?
-
i think that’s an important insight - if people are avoiding gameplay because they no longer click with the core game structure, changes which are designed with the majority of players in mind is going to make certain groups feel unwanted or pushed out hopefully some of the new content and challenges being introduced will be a good countermeasure if people feel their favourite activities have been diminished

“oh, i wasn’t aware of that, i was incorrect” there you go, wasn’t that hard was it? p.s if possible, please try to limit your foot stomping to this thread rather than following your way through my post history for downvotes. alternatively, a thread has been created specifically for individuals who need to unleash their inner thumbs down 👎👎 edit: the thumbnail of the above thread is just so wrong. have some decency, @Troo

to balance the economy i am an effective 👎 sink

to give you some credit, i wouldn’t say it’s that enthusiastic players lack maturity, i’d view it from the perspective that changes to the game will have a larger impact on their daily routine if they are regular players MMOs by nature are a second society, changes to that environment can be quite emotive
-
aw man, that’s me ruled out then

i hear there‘s a mission in AE which is quite popular, some sort of meteor with fiery enemies?… 😉 the eden trial is my favourite “mission” in the game, used to be an amazing challenge back on live frostfire also a classic

AE Vet Levels -or- Empyrean to Reward Merits
MoonSheep replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
i would support this it would allow people to PL 1-50 in AE and then continue farming if they want influence, but require gameplay to unlock incarnates
