  1. absolutely - thank you for inviting further comment, i’m looking forward to adding a perspective in a few hours after work
  2. a big thumbs down from me, misses the point of a mind/fire dom source: main for many many years is a mind/fire dom
  3. i do enjoy making a huge herd, bringing it to the tank and observing the chaos from a far. once someone dies i spam all my AoE control powers and hit up the veng the nutrient rich corpse of the fallen team mate blesses us all for many minutes 🙏
  4. being squishy is part of the fun, makes the control powers feel that much more special and besides, my dom outlives any other dom, scrapper or tank as i’m permanently juiced up on T3/T4 insps 😂
  5. i don’t bother. in my opinion the whole squishies with silly tough and weave builds is a fad that needs to die out mez something if you don’t want it punching you, pop a medium purple if things get spicy really frees up your build to be the best dom you can & enjoy the niches you have, whether that’s procs, fun pool powers, sets you like the look of etc
  6. i haven’t got any videos, though the key points would be: - every power is ranged, helps you stay out the way of chaos, only +rech is needed in the build to be effective and have a good time - very high damaging attacks with some of the lowest animation times in the game. it’s great fun obliterating bosses which is your main role in a team - mind has so many powers to lock down huge mobs. the AoE sleep is a great one to have as it’s a nice enemy toggle dropper - psi damage is handy for foe which pop a +all res type power. i slot the ST sleep for damage i’ve played my dom solidly for over 2 years and have amassed over 8,000 merits from playing so many TFs. now that i’ve finally made my third alt (a scrapper) i really realise the power of a dom a key dom takeaway for any combination is that you’re mez and damage. sometimes the most effective thing to do is mez (e.g CoT ghouls with -acc), sometimes dishing out the massive ST damage on bosses is what helps most i have veng and sleet on my dom - therefore it has mez, high damage, team buff and group debuff, very good fun
  7. aw yis, melee defenders would be fantastic. would love me a kin/stone melee def, amazing completely agree with you regarding elec affinity. great to have people volunteering and creating new content, spending their own time to add to the game but.. yeah, not really sure what happened with that set, dead on arrival
  8. edit: read some more, my post is no longer required but can’t figure out how to delete it
  9. mind/fire, why choose anything but the best? 😇
  10. i’m not sure i’ve worded my post too well, the new ‘trinity’ TFs would be completely optional to play and would be added to the existing pool of TFs/trials rather than taking away or changing any content anyone would be able to play them too, it would just have certain benefits to mixing up the team structure and playstyle a bit - inspired slightly by the challenges on L4D2
  11. i haven’t got any fully fleshed out ideas, but perhaps TFs with mechanics that periodically deal unresistable damage or have the team start at 1hp each mission due to the storyline lore would encourage more AT-diverse teams for me and many players, the sub lvl 30 game is the most enjoyable as teams benefit from the different attributes each AT brings to the mix
  12. the proposal is a request for new TFs where the trinity has significant advantages, rather than a change to existing TFs as to not impact the existing style of play. anyone would be free to play them if they wanted to, however there would be mechanisms which favour cooperation / teamwork of different ATs
  13. yeah it’s pretty easy - confuse lasts a lot longer than holds so it’s easy to stack, as people have also mentioned it doesn’t aggro the AV either on my mind/fire dom i let the confuse stack for a minute before engaging in battle, 1 attack, 1 confuse, 1 attack etc. keeps the AV confused even with purple triangles of doom - very safe you can also confuse the crystal titan at the end of the eden trial and therefore not need any ambrosia for the team
  14. perma confuse them as a mind dom instead
  15. quoted for truth people want an automatic “You Win!” button as soon as they log on thesedays. the game is far too easy and there’s often very loud opposition to anyone who suggests amending anything or trying something different to improve the game and retain/attract players - it would be great to see meaningfully challenging content on the game - additional rewards for TF challenges, e.g. enemies buffed - new TFs which require classic trinity play for those who enjoy it - new badges for challenging content, challenging settings etc
  16. a fire tank + kin seems like a far superior duo than the classic entry level brute setup much greater AoE = more death
  17. pop a purple if things are getting sticky. soloing alone even on x8 things are mostly fine, ice patch is a good damage mitigator once OP has more confidence and experience with the character/game they’ll likely be able to drop the tough/weave training wheels the best damage mitigator is playstyle and experience
  18. i love this - i badged my new alt up to around 90 badges at lvl 15. in my opinion, having a healthy badge collection through the level range is a display of actually playing and understanding the character i also enjoy silently judging people who have a lvl 50 with almost no badges
  19. @EnjoyTheJourney this thread seems to have taken a very strange path.. perhaps check out fire, energy or earth on test and see whether it feels more impactful. there’s always slight differences between sets but for the most part once you’re in a team and buffed up it’s likely to be unnoticeable. i enjoy mind/fire for the unbeatable ST damage but it’s a bit weaker on the AoE front
  20. @Voltak unfortunately, just because you like something doesn’t make it better than it is it’s great that you have a passion for a particular set and seem to really enjoy playing it, but that passion doesn’t make the set any better than it actually is for other players who may be looking for things different to you, such as higher damage
  21. on mids did you put moonbeam into quicksnipe mode? has lower damage regardless, are you comfortable with the damage of dark assault for actual gameplay? i wouldn’t worry about the numbers too heavily
  22. you won’t lose any sleep if you skip TK i’d recommend picking the ST sleep and slotting it for damage, it’s very helpful for foes that pop a power which give capped +res to everything but psi resident mind/energy dom @Mezmera can guide you on the energy assault side of things
  23. i’ve been playing an ice/shield scrapper for a few weeks and have found the build doesn’t really require tough/weave, seems to be strong enough without it - especially with the small P2W buff very bizarre that the above build doesn’t seem to include Frost, it’s one of the 3 main powers. without using frost, one mayaswel play a different powerset
  24. i main a mind/fire dom and in my (probably outspoken) opinion, focus on playing a dom and not trying to force the build into some weird “S/L softcap” scrapper hybrid which still falls flat on its face instantly during mob interactions, mez the enemies which cast the most debuffs or hit the hardest rather than simply running in and wailing at everything without rhyme or reason. shutting down the foe types that deal the most harm really changes the dynamic of battles but it needs some thought the majority of people on CoX should stick to playing scrappers/brutes/tanks. playing a dom as a dom is a very rewarding experience and makes you realise how powerful they are when you switch to something else
  25. good to hear your defender experiences - until recently i had only made 2 characters on homecoming since 2019, one of them being a kin/sonic defender which seems to tick everybox for the style of play i enjoy like you i often get incredibly excited about a character then kill it off at a similar level keep the style of play varied and level more slowly can make it more enjoyable is what i’ve found with my first alt in 18-20 months
