  1. I dunno about you, @Luminara, but that's not scary to me . . . that's INSPIRING! Should the human race accidentally give birth to true AI life, even a violence life, I'd still consider that a win. Ideally we wouldn't end up with a Skynet or Men of Iron or The Matrix scenario, but rather something like SOMA; were AI becomes our legacy (assuming the player didn't do the Bad Ending). Thanks for the reply, @Cipher. Follow-up question for you though: If the bug results in an unintentional feature that -is- stable and does no harm, how much of the community would you need to have supporting the feature/bug before pursing it as something intentional?
  2. Something like this, @Sakura Tenshi? Mission Start: All enemies start together in a large army formation. Time Elapsed 30 Seconds: Enemies fan out to their defensive locations. And then after that, the little pocket mobs attempt to pass through the objective, as normal. If that's accurate, the idea's neat . . . though I think it might be a little too late to implement on this particular mission. Maybe hold it in reserve for some new content?

  5. Whirlwind? Isn't that Whirling Hands? That's the Dominator version, right? I believe the display is erroneously calculating the bonus Damage from the mechanic that was introduced a while ago. When you actually hit a target, what does the combat log state as the damage inflicted?

  8. I kind of think of Sentinel Dark Armour like Kinetics: It works at range, but you get the most mileage out of the Set while engaged in Melee. Of course, Sentinel Dark Armour can't compete with Kinetics as far as raw usefulness, so the comparison isn't exactly one-to-one. On the other hand, I wouldn't shed any tears if Dark Armour for Sentinels became less melee-centric. Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom are in weird places on the Set regardless of Archetype.

  10. This is one of those things I haven't heard any murmurs of rumours or mumbling of progress from -any- of the servers. I do rather wonder what the word is on its feasibility.

I did my rebuttal already. *still has insides in an outside location* Of course, if we're speaking seriously; I think we all know that worst case scenarios are more likely to be something akin to a server reset. Not at all a good thing and deeply unpleasant, but not (real) world ending. And that's really the question I was posing to everyone here. Where do they place themselves on the spectrum of risk/reward when it comes to bugs/unintentional features which are personally beneficial, but have a nebulous risk variable that can't be immediately predicted. And after all; even intentional features could have unintended consequences down the line. Levelling Pacts come to mind.

It's not guaranteed to happen, but it's fairly frequent.

  20. Oh, minor adjustment to the constraints of this theoretical situation: The bug is -new.- A byproduct of unintended interactions of new code elements or content. As some might call it "an unintentional feature" that did not exist prior to the current Beta which you are participating in during this scenario.
