  1. I'm guessing that's kind of the point, @macskull. Not to shoot my own feet any more, but . . . coupled with Piecemeal's post a few pages back, it seems like the Team are testing the waters of increasing transparency. I hope the level of drama here hasn't been too discouraging, and that helpful feedback has been obtained.
  2. Beta's still down right now, @Troo, and Staging doesn't have those features. Hoisted by your own petard! Ho ho!
  3. I hadn't actually mapped out what my idea for Resolve would be exactly in terms of numerical detail . . . but, yeah. If we go with the obvious and make it a "Bar" like Hit Points or Endurance, then naturally there would be a range from 0% to 100% (or vice-versa). I get the impression here that @Darkneblade is suggesting that the lower a target GM's Resolve is, comparatively by percent, the greater the odds of scoring an Overwhelming Overpower would be. Basically, if I'm reading Darkne's proposal correctly, it would work like Scourge. The closer to defeat/Control Magnitude the target gets, the more accelerated/likely that defeat/Overwhelming Overpower becomes.
  4. Oof . . . (many of) those videos are hard to watch due to the audio. But there's some helpful information in (some of) them. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Well, considering how long the Homecoming Team has made that promise for . . . I think they already accepted the bribe, and we're riding on the coattails of it all this time.
  6. Endurance Cost Reduction / Discount favours builds with high Endurance cost Powers. Endurance Recovery Rate favours larger Maximum Endurance stacks. Are you using SOs? Have you got any +Max End IO Set Bonuses in your build? Any other Endurance Discount Bonuses?
  7. Hmm, good point. If the company was registered in the u.s., then u.s. legislations would likely be invoked. . . . maybe they should incorporate in Canada instead/as well? Anyone got any business advice in this regard?
  8. But -would- they need to comply with those regulations? The servers are based out of Canada (and Germany), and the FCC doesn't have jurisdiction here.
  9. The activation/animation times should be the same to ensure that there isn't "hang time" on the animation, but yeah. I agree. The Radiation Siphon Power's animation is just . . . not really suitable.
  10. You called, @Lines? . . . oh. Wait. Sorry. You said "person." My mistake. Carry on!
  11. I'd have to call "nuh-uh" on a claim that this game has internal consistency on things like animations. Hell, some Sets aren't even internally consistent with their animations (hello Energy Melee). To the best of my knowledge the reason, back in the day as it is now, that Powers like Titan Weapon and Shield were not compatible is because of the amount of work it takes to get animations to exist in this engine. When's the last time any of you saw a -new- animation here? I don't mean one which you hadn't personally seen before, but one that was created from scratch. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I would -really- like to be proven wrong on this, but I think 3D assets in this game are still a nut that hasn't been cracked yet. Piecemeal's recent work kind of reinforces this. They're some INCREDIBLE reskins . . . but they're all just* reskins and mish-mashes of existing 3D assets. *"just" in so much as that they're all assets which already exist; not "just" meaning to diminish the incredible work Piecemeal has clearly done. I absolutely agree that it would fantastic to have Shield Defense not be mutually exclusive with so many other Sets, though. There are a lot of awesome concepts which are unceremoniously blocked due to those limitations.
  12. What about a launch-from-anywhere Trial, @Ura Hero? Hit level 35. Open LFG window. Either queue up with a team, or just Lock-and-Launch solo. And away you go! Bim bam boom! Complete the Trial. Unlock your Patron. Get spat back out in the exact same spot you launched from. . . . would be nice if that's how Cape and Aura Missions worked back in the day . . . good gravy was the Villain cape mission a pain in the butt with all the back-and-forth travel busywork.
  13. I mean . . . usually? Have you ever seen my encrypted posts? I'm honestly surprised more folks don't do that here. Also, @EmmySky: . . . craft? Who said anything about crafting?
  14. Sooooooo . . . what are people using it for? People are apparently trading it, or at least the market interface seems to think so. I've occasionally used a piece or two for roleplay purposes, though obviously the price isn't conducive to doing that too frequently. Are others just collecting it for a sense of nostalgia? Hope that it will make a comeback? Accidentally? Inquiring mind-things seek answers.
  15. And then there's stuff like this: Not displayed are the characters who store Set IOs and ATOs; those tend to just be characters I play who happen to have space in their bases.
  16. The subject came up a couple months ago: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/20608-is-the-band-still-together/ I still haven't seen them since then. I hadn't heard anything about getting them to show up with a bartender before, though.
  17. Whoopsie! I'll fix that. Also, adding Sonic Manipulation to Blaster Secondaries in preparation of Page 6. Here's the old version, just in case I need to revert it for any reason: Blaster Secondary: 0.00 to 7.68 = Atomic Manipulation 7.69 to 15.37 = Devices 15.38 to 23.07 = Darkness Manipulation 23.08 to 30.76 = Energy Manipulation 30.77 to 38.45 = Electricity Manipulation 38.46 to 46.14 = Fire Manipulation 46.15 to 53.84 = Ice Manipulation 53.85 to 61.53 = Martial Combat 61.54 to 69.22 = Mental Manipulation 69.23 to 76.91 = Ninja Training 76.92 to 84.61 = Plant Manipulation 84.62 to 92.30 = Tactical Arrow 92.31 to 100 = Temporal Manipulation
  18. Don't feel bad. Plenty of us have made the mistake too. I once called a GM to help me in-game because I wasn't getting any Influence for saving mugging victims. . . . so, yuuup. Been there. You're welcome!
  19. The Defiance bug only helped Dual Pistol Blasters, @ABlueThingy. Corruptors, Defenders, and Sentinels didn't get to take advantage of that bug.
  20. They should all be variations of "Saul . . . SAUL! . . . No."
  21. Would you be able to elaborate with specifics, @Rejolt?
  22. Hell . . . if the Devs just give us a way to tally the total successful Mayhems and Safeguards per Shard, the Inf-rich players can -be- the banks.
  23. A lot of people swear by using the auction house instead of storage. And, regretfully, the game really is stacked in favour of that methodology right now. I'd certainly like to see improvements to storage and sharing as well, rather than needing multiple Groups with multiple bases, with specific codified storage to meet the needs of a single group of players, or even just a single prolific player . . . WITHOUT ever needing to even -look- at the auction house. But, alas, it seems the current philosophy is that the auction house is not optional for experiencing the full range of content.
  24. I apology that I am unable to find the words I'm looking for. It's not my intent to ever tell the volunteers "hurry up," nor to say "your opinions don't matter on the things you're working on." I'm genuinely unsure where I need to make adjustments to my criticisms to stress that isn't my intent. So, if anyone would like to help me by pointing out problematic phrasing which I'm using, I would appreciate that. I realize that the existing feedback process is "good enough" or even "great" for many people who post on these forums. I strongly disagree with that assessment, though, and I would like to work toward something which I believe would be more productive, less stressful, and (most importantly) more inclusive. The Homecoming mission expressly states that they want the game to be welcoming to everyone. I may be shooting myself in the foot here . . . repeatably, but I do mean to take them to task on that. I like the sentiment expressed by that mission. I feel the execution of it needs work. I criticize because I care about seeing things improve. If the Homecoming Team feels the current modus operandi is sufficient, I would propose they change the mission statement to reflect that instead. If this really is "their server," for them and their friends, okay. I'll accept that. I'd just like them to be upfront about it right there. With the building analogy, it's not so much that the ground looks ugly . . . it's that from this side of things there isn't any ground to see at all. We only get to see the house after-the-fact. It's a loose metaphor to be sure, but I am only able to infer an existence of a foundation. And when I see something shaky with the finished product, I'm unable to meaningful comment on whether it was the foundation or the building materials that needed to be addressed. AND I realize . . . I'm totally hijacking your thread, Piecemeal. I'm sorry for that. If this post is too off-topic, I understand if it needs to disappear. But I do hope that I'm making progress in expressing my desired point more clearly now.
  25. Same, but shot in the dark: Beta Shards are down right now to patch in Page 6?
