  1. It's one of those things that hits harder at low levels before SOs but wishes it had scrapper damage at high levels.
  2. Make it 99% instead of 100 or 95%. That way, I can still get a chuckle when I wiff at destroying an object 4x as big as my character at point blank range.
  3. Made a slight modification to get a little bit more defense back in and be more viable outside AE. 4. So you are saying it's fine because it can be mitigated on teams with several incarnates. Not everyone raids and not everyone is lvl 50.
  5. As in evey contaminated foe or just the main target? If it is the first my Rad/Dark will be very happy.
  6. The irony being that Ice Melee has the highest Tank/Brute DPA attack.
  7. Pure farming Spines/Fire is probably the easiest to level up. You get your first damage aura at lvl 2, and your 2nd one at lvl 18. On top of that you get Throw Spines at 32 which is a decent cone but does require some positioning to get the max number of targets. Rad/Fire is another popular set as it gets damage auras at the same levels but it does not get its other AOE attack until 32. That AOE hits much harder, but is also on a much longer recharge. Any other AOE attacks would have to come from epic/patron pools and they tend to be on long recharge timers as well so this one only really starts getting better than spines after a bit is spent getting some global recharge. SS/Fire is the hardest hitting of them all.....eventually. Until you get a ton of recharge (like 170%+) the other sets are better so this one takes the longest and costs the most to be great. It is also its down sides as currently you get hit with a defense debuff when rage crashes. For noobs that means you get hit more often ;). So it takes some building to cover for that as well. During the 10 second crash you also do almost no damage outside of procs and that can mess with the flow for some people. Now /Dark has the bonus that it can farm stuff that would make /Fire users wish they made room for Rise of the Phoenix in their build and they are far more versatile outside of AE farms. The most important part is that you are having fun. One fun tip for /Dark is to put in Theft of Essence proc into your self heal. One set I can think of that can do decent single target and AOE and is pretty durable is Rad/Dark. Rad has some pretty hard hitting attacks. Granted some also have long animation times but still solid damage. The down side is that it is an endurance hog. I would have that Theft of Essence proc handy and get +endurance and recovery IOs as early as possible running that combo otherwise it will be less than fun. I have not yet tried Titan Weapons but on paper it looks pretty solid on both as well. Someone with more knowledge can comment on that one.
  8. I like the changes. Even though it is a slight change to defense it means you would be hit around 24% more often but with that much recharge and resisting 90% of the damage, the self heal should take care of any issues there. Considering I was fine with the rage crash without using inspirations I doubt it will even be a noticeable change in survivability, I was trying to figure out a way to fit in the FF proc but everything I thought of dropped too much for my comfort level but being able to add even more recharge with a minimal loss in defense is an acceptable and welcome modification.
  9. You mean the "Look at my hands...LOOK AT THEM! This is going to hurt you more than it hurts me BAM" animation? Yes please get rid of it and go back to the quick one.
  10. That is why I like sharing builds. Someone somewhere thought of something that I didn't. I'm at work so can't see the end numbers but can see what was done. Dropped some fire defense from the resist sets and used the extra slots to throw in taunt set into consume. This, if momory serves adds some fire defense back and adds even more recharge. Ill look at the details when I get home.
  11. Go /EA it is a strong and pretty combo.
  12. Stone is probably one of the hardest to start with. For a first brute I would recommend anything but stone armor. In granite you are very hard to kill but sooooo slooooow. Willpower is probably the easiest to use and hard to screw-up.
  13. Now the SS/Fire I had a bit more wiggle room due to not having to slot a damage aura in the primary but it is still very tight. The only time I had health issues was when rage crashed and I got hit with the defense debuff but the heal is on a 10 second recharge and that was plenty to keep me off the floor. I have a build with more recharge but less defense so I have to rely on lucks when farming until I can afford to get all the stuff for this build. 14. When leveling up and having limited slots I first throw in accuracy. Then when I next level up and add 2 more slots i go for endurance and recharge. Then 1 slot for damage to start. Generally that is what I do. Some powers on quick recharge I may add a damage first as they tend to be easier on the endurance bar to begin with. The short answer is you still need to slot damage. Just not as much as other damagebsets while you are leveling.
  15. There was a thread asking for build critique and I posted my SS builds there. Can't figure out how to link on my phone. Ill throw in both when I get home. Seriously Rad/Fire is fun and I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs of bio as it is totally new to me. And home. Ok this Rad/Fire is seriously end game stuff on a massive budget but I played with it on the test server and my Endurance bar and Health bar hardly ever moved. I would not try to level up using this build as it lacks any meaningful single target damage. Since I was only planning on using it for fire farms, my goal was to get 45% Fire defense. Then pump up recharge as much as I can along with recovery and HP. As a side effect due to other bonuses in the sets I used I got up to 30% defense to S/L and melee and a decent amount of S/L resist as well if you turn on Tough. I went with Agility for the recharge/end and just enough defense to soft cap fire then Ageless took care of all my endurance issues. Now I went with assault for Hybrid but Support or Melee work too if you want to do regular content and shore up some of the holes in Fire. Feel free to add any tweaks or suggestions. I know this thing is an AOE death machine but there is probably some changes that could be made to make it even better that I am not seeing or am just not aware of (or forgot after several years) Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 16. FE adds fire damage to all attacks not just fire based. Not a skippable power imo.
  17. I figured using no inspirations on either was the best way to compare the sets side by side. That way I could make sure they were equally sturdy. Only had to heal a couple times when rage crashed but with rad my end and hp bar hardly moved. Full disclosure, the Rad was more fun even though it was a little slower due to never having to stop.
  18. The comic con one is fast and easy. There are some others as well in a tunnel and another on the BM map. I'll post the IDs when I get home from work. That final build I posted I took to the test server and it's a monster on those. Had to heal a couple times during rage crashes but never ran out of endurance (Ageless) and never had to use any inspirations. So one could cary around a tray full of reds and pop them in those times when you have to move from one group to another.
  19. Sounds like one of their builds is more optimal than the other. I went on test server, put my best builds side by side. Both with perma hasten and a constant attack chain of AOE goodness. No inspirations and on the same map 5 runs each. My worst time with SS was better than my best time with Rad. Not saying Rad is bad, for the vast majority of the game it is better. But you simply cannot beat double rage being perma and adding to every attack. +160% for 50 out of 60 seconds is simply better than +50% every 10 out of 25 seconds even when that other 10 out of 60 seconds is time doing no damage.
  20. This 2nd chunk is a little slower on the recharge but softcapped Fire defense and more HP. That is what I am building to once I have all the top Incarnate stuff unlocked. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1510;680;1360;HEX;| |78DA6594594F13511CC5673A539042592D2D9B58B696423740E39618046B409A909| |0F866EA806319ADA5E962E4D1AFA089BCB880FAEC936CEA47F103B8A1BEEA4BFDCF| |9C1369ECA4CDEFDE73EF99FBBFE7CE4CFAE17CCBDB6B8F2E2B6AF35CCE289532578| |A95B2E94E1B596B4DB1AF46F9F73A62266DE64C33B6522998C5CC4AB968E6B3E5F5| |0086E6CD3B66BE64C6529659DCCCCC568A86D2B2BCB1918B2D9946C1CA673D4E67A| |5609AB7BD4E336565D7CB32D0E1F416F20FAC92B56AE5ACF2A6EF6AC15A8B71C54A| |266D94CA72CF80943121FFA0AAF0AACA4F2E65D7EE386A555766A491D495D669309| |8044712E414B8675BE851B7354773ED90AFC0936FC0C06B705F666BF0B8B5CFD0F4| |2FE457B0E508ECFE467E27254537BC9ADB871A1AAE63AC6111EC4C81A32A42B76B6| |B1C7339DA891019063DE36404F48BA189A9347D827620BD66ACE96A9E627D7E1106| |646FBFD11F129F177354AF1DAF9D1D79286863466DCCB59D39B633DF4EE639C29C4| |3820ED5E5D4D1C1FBBC177439075455BAA8A9B2AE8FF5FA06A069A2F9B96F3FD70B| |709D10D78D709D28D7D5C5D3C35C7B986B2FF3EC659EC30BE00799D587FBBBFB9EE| |98ED6FF9C7C010EBF24B7C1D00E3866C746EFC03AF23D659177C97B60300726EF83| |E3E21DE4BE06CF413B7D9EBC405EA4F712F851660FC1A30E31B324794BB633CA5A4| |6DFB1BE5D728FDC67FD0760F21034C41B662DE129D6374DCE9067C0C85930A3E1CD| |B33D1393D026A3648C8C83D104E8957389F17C633C9756D112D412D4FAF5FFDFE64| |89D92A8539275CA749D3253A7A46C459DB595EA52DDE8B2CE8F8828AAA334B5CBFB| |0EA57AE4F9F7BD50D428CEE1E7B1E6526F603FF1209EB5F8A2F443BAF2A3D61786E| |FD7B1A6A95BCCFA29F37B0CC69F805B5D02D6B0ECB19F06B46FD6B48D9AF66A4DFB| |4FB778D9FE0B6BDEE9F7| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  21. Ok lots of issues. If you are mainly building for AE farms, you don't need to worry about S/L defense. Incarnate Trials you should have plenty of others around buffing and making up for your lack of defense there. You did a good job adding HP but a bit too much work adding regen. That is not really needed when you have a self heal and on a set designed around resistance and not regen. Kismit is great on everything except SS as rage more than covers your +to hit needed. I love Obliteration for AOE powers once you have your purple slotted but it does not belong in a damage aura due to its lack of endurance reduction. Now you have managed to make perma hasten assuming you go with Agility Core for your Alpha slot. You could get even more recharge in with Spiritual but you are going to want something to also help with endurance and that would be Agility. For your Epic pool you used 2 slots to get to Fireball. I would hop on over to the red side and run the patron arc for Black Scorpion on the lowest difficulty. It is probably the easiest one to do although the last couple missions have sappers and they suck....literally. They suck your end bar to nothing, hold you and kill you slowly if you are not careful. You can either kill them or stealth past them with your damage toggle off. For the last fight, pack enough purples to soft cap for 2 minuets to be safe (should only need 1 minuet) and some blues in case a sapper sees you and because the final fight is all single target and you will only have 1 or 2 targets to consume from. Also be sure to get at least one KB IO because you will be bounced around like a ragdoll outside of AE farms without it. After the 5th mission you will unlock all the patrons. I went with Mu due to 2 AoE powers and no filler powers to take to get them. Here is what I am running while I build out my Incarnate stuff. I have Tough and Weave but do not use them as they are only there for set bonuses. 1 small luck gets you to almost 36% defense to fire and 2 or a medium will get you past the soft cap. I normally run past the cap as rage will be crashing every 60 seconds or so and hitting you with a debuff to defense so be sure to keep plenty handy as they drop. I also went with Ageless for even crazier recharge but more fore the recovery. Even at 0.68 end per second use on my toggles, having footstomp every 5 seconds and ball lightning up every 8 seconds combined with hits from rage crashes and hasten crashes, I still get low on endurance before Consume is up from time to time. 22. It is up there with spines/fire but once you get into ultra recharge area (like 175% or so) SS/Fire beats them both, least if we are talking about AE farms with only fire damage. Perma double rage is a sight to behold.
  23. Thats just...Purples in Boxing? Taunt in KO blow? I'm at work. I'll show you something faster to work with when I get home. Its horribly expensive but will eventually make it all back. Are we talking AE fire farms or other stuff? Because those are very different builds
  24. With common and uncommon having such a low price you really only need storage for rares. If you have more than 1800 rare salvage it is time to make room and sell some stuff.
  25. Spines Bio is fun. Rad/Bio is another with decent aoe but can take out bosses a bit faster while everything else melts.
