Many of us do. JJD, I've grabbed lots of builds from this thread to compare with, as a starting point or to aspire to. Just want to thank you for putting these out there.
-
You could try something like below. I just combined a less expensive EM/RG build with War Mace.. so no promises. NOTE: Vigor gets the accuracy where I'd like it to be, without it some other choices might need to be made. Also I like to use Darkest Night on regen brawlers. The -ToHit is nice, the -21% DMG a nice pairing with Regeneration, These look yummy:
-
Better.. maybe. But is it as FUN?!
-
I've been mulling over an Elec/Shield with Afterburner and Placate just for funzie tele-nuke critage. well scratch that. I was just adding Spring Attack too.
-
You'll see some additional info from @Doomguide2005, @Without_Pause in the above.
-
Kaika, your milea ge may vary. autohit, 15' aoe, 5 target cap, w/criticals.. yummy yummy.
-
Not only is Placate autohit, but it is also currently an 15' AoE that hits up to 5 targets with a 0.8 cast time. That autohit is very nice. It's a great 'oh shit' power. (Too much attention, Placate) An amazing control power. (Target, stay here while I slaughter your buddy right next to you) It is a great guaranteed critical. (This helps some powers significantly) Placate Allows you to trick a foe into no longer attacking you. A successful Placate will also Hide you. This Hide is very brief, and offers no defense bonus, but it will allow you to deliver a Critical Hit or an Assassin's Strike. However, if you attack a Placated foe, he will be able to attack you back. Long animation Assassins Strike from hide and striking with Assassins Strike after Placate mid-fight. Same 2,240.05 damage.

@Wingslord24 with the Homecoming improvements to Tanks (allowing greater AoEs), players might prefer this combination on a Tank rather than a Broot. (especially if the goal is tanking for teams). Without_Pause has provided valuable feedback. IF your goal is a solo tank class character, Broot makes sense. In this case you may need to up your single target attack chain. Regardless, I might swap Dark Obliteration for Darkest Night as it is a more effective To Hit debuff and will argo anything near the target. Darkest Night has the added benefit of Damage debuff. Who is a Tank? Tankers, Brutes, Peacebringers & Warshades are all considered Tanks in the character creation screens.

@Gravitus fyi "Note: Null is in the class of contact that will not talk to characters who are in an active Task Force." link

Seems like there would be a summary tool in the Discord that could publish to the forum here. But I guess folks use Discord for a reason.
-
oh I guarantee I've added an extra zero to a ten stack of something very expensive.. very. at least 2 or 3 times.
-
If I got it, sure I'll refund. "the game-induced error"... The issue may have been between the stick and the headrest. It definitely wasn't the game that inserted rather than replacing. Many of us have been there. Take comfort in not having made the biggest Black Market mistake ever.

Might I suggest:
-
You are correct. I am definitely looking through the lenses of a regen player. I was thinking by using the T9 I could focus on damage output and some proc-age, at least until I get the hang of it. Thank you for this. @Erratic1 I used just the proc not the whole set.

New to the game, asking for advice - Controller or Dominator and what types?
Troo replied to Myrd's topic in Controller
"New to the game" "Controller or Dominator" Try a controller, it is simply more straight forward without having to try and game the system as a new player. Dominators are just as good but a controller, at least in my opinion, will be easier to learn the ropes on. Controller Primary suggestions (in not particular order): Fire, Ice, Plant, Illusion Controller Primary suggestions (in not particular order): Cold, Dark, Kinetics, Storm, Time (trying not to name most of them), Radiation (good but will get lots of attention from enemies) If you want to options outside of these two. Tanks & Brutes are fairly straight forward. If you want to stick to ranged maybe Arachnos Widows (their secondary is Teamwork). -
Regeneration Suggestion for Instant Healing: Toggle Self Heal
Troo replied to Solarias's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well thanks. To be clear I just compiled what lots of different folks have chimed in with over time and likely left a bunch out.. -
Regeneration Suggestion for Instant Healing: Toggle Self Heal
Troo replied to Solarias's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yep, I guess people skip it simply because it only last 10-11 seconds after the long animation.. or think it has a crash.. or think it is a waste of a power pick? Data mining could reveal if it is trooly skipped by a lot of characters. I guess folks ignore that it is crashless while having +Def (except Tox and Psi), +Res (except Psi), +Recovery, and def/res to Knock, Repel, Held, Stunned, Sleep, Immob. It is a debuff/mezz counter/eraser. -
Regeneration Suggestion for Instant Healing: Toggle Self Heal
Troo replied to Solarias's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Making suggestions is good. (Good Bad Ugly, it's just a suggestion after all) Some folks want a revamp. Tear it down and rebuild it.. blah blah blah. Screw exiting players who invested time to learn it, like their characters, and only request some minor tweaks. Disregard that players have shown current Regeneration can tackle some of the hardest content. A revamp could also change Regeneration to be same-same rather than the something different it is now. Besides, any revamp will be balanced, so something that 'sounds' great at first will have tradeoffs. What we will get will have a narrow design that guards against being OP. Folks will have to play it the new way. How many of the folks who want a revamp actually play Regeneration?.. versus wanting to change it to what they do play. Some folks just want a couple tweaks. -regen debuffs has been identified as a pain point. With some suggesting that Regeneration should have the same regen debuff resistance as Super Reflexes does for defense debuff resistance (DDR). (I'd take this) -recharge can mess with heal availability. Some rech debuff resistance could help, maybe 40-50% for a set that is more reactionary than most. Additional is available through IO set bonuses. This could also help with the learning curve since the heal availabilities can vary greatly between using hasten or being under high -rech pressure. (I'd take this) Psi Hole could be addressed. Nothing crazy which would require trade offs. Scaling resists - This would be amazing but likely would require trade offs I wouldn't want. Moment of Glory (MoG) is a good power but it is very short, 15 seconds, 3+ seconds of which get gobbled up activating it. 3+ sec when a player might need it most. So it gets skipped. Shortening the activation penalty to a more reasonable number and allow something closer to the advertised 15 seconds could be helpful and minor coding. (I'd take this) Some folks want Instant Healing to be a toggle again. I get this. We are likely never getting the old version back as it was at the time determined to be OP. Would it be OP now? It's not hard to argue that it would not be OP and would generally not vault Regeneration into the top spot or even over most other sets. Would I take a toggle? Sure, but I don't need it. Instant Healing is currently available on a high recharge build every ~180s for 90s duration. 1/2 time. Selecting a power once every 180s is not very clicky. If you want links to similar discussions or regen builds feel free to ask. @Solarias Your suggestion would appear to work great against minions and maybe luts but not so well against bosses EBs and AVs. I like that it is reactive to the situation. It would maybe work against large mobs of soft targets. I'm not sure how it helps against hard targets or for single target specialists. My current Instant Healing is typically around 1,000% (~60hp/sec on a brute and 50 on a stalker) Your scenario with big mobs might be more hp/sec and would have a player keep smaller targets while focusing on harder targets. Starting to feel a little willpower-ish. -
😞 I am looking at Battle Axe, War Mace, and Dark Melee as pairings for Ninjitsu. Dark Melee ended up feeling too clunky on the test server. War Mace is at least a little smoother while still hitting hard. Managing when crits have the most chance to hit might take some time. I grabbed Mace as an Epic ranged because 'the numbers' but it ended up being really wonky with a delayed activation and then another long delay before damage was applied. Maybe it was just on the test server.

Just using out-of-the box costume graphics.
