these are not how fast it can be done.. I would say 15 minutes would be the fastest average I would ever tell anyone to avoid dropped participants. Maybe even 20 - 30 minutes unless I was absolutely sure we'd knock it out quicker. DFB and DiB are definitely not averaging 11 & 8 minutes.

Weird, my experience is a bit different. Burst damage has not been the biggest problem. Instant Healing and Dull Pain together.. is fairly impressive. (almost like a T9) Getting slowed to where I can't move AND powers aren't recharging fast enough... that's a problem. (a problem that enemy recognition and situational awareness significantly helps with) Getting 2-shotted on a broot or stalker for me would be a very very very rare occurrence (lvl 1-50+). Maybe scrappers are somehow less capable.. no that can't be right. Regeneration is likely a knifes edge to balance. To give any significant boosts to any set requires tradeoffs, I'd rather enjoy regeneration as is. Absolutely, I'd support a couple well documented small tweaks which would not require tradeoffs. I suspect these could provide a little bit more forgiveness and help folks pilot a regen while they learn the ropes. But they are just small tweaks which may not help folks who don't want to lean into what regen does well. If I couldn't +4/8 at all, I might sing a different tune. However, there are a number of folks who have taken Regeneration characters through some of the hardest content the game has to offer. While I won't ever claim it to be the best, as-is, it can be very successful. It is also fun and different rather than same same. Don't *need* to rely on MoG or Incarnates to survive normal alpha strikes... you know this. If we are talking the hardest content, I believe ALL of the armors have holes to something without dipping into external powers, right? I'm just saying..

Common regeneration comments from other discussions. Regeneration could use some debuff resistances Recharge. This is one of the sets's achilles heal. Regen. Really this seems like a no brainer since it is Regeneration. Could be SR DDR level. DDR? nah, leave the chasing defense trap. -End I agree with W_P that this would be nice. MoG has an animation which is practically 20% of the power duration.. That's a bit punitive. Shorten the animation/cast time (or) Extend the duration (just pick one or the other) **MoG has a nice +Recovery which may be under appreciated. Front-loading heals would be nice. Or at least shorten the animation-time-before-effect. Take a couple of the these minor tweaks and see where we are. I don't think this needs all of the above but a couple sure would be nice. If that's the nudge it needs we haven't 'reworked' anything and have stayed troo to what is a popular set. Regeneration is never going to be Invulnerability. and this

oh my.. [19:35:59] You pet Blarf, it gyrates in a very... unique way. [19:35:59] Congratulations! You earned the Nutrient-Rich badge. [19:35:59] In response, Blarf contorts into a shape it hopes appealed to you. -

Question: Is the player you spoke of above still playing? (folks come and go. this is only an anecdotal data point) Since @BF resuscitated this thread,

Should folks who contribute get something extra?

Whoa hoo hoo turns out this was a terrible idea, I can't apologize enough. Please put the big guns away. -
Should folks who contribute get something extra?

Doesn't NPR and many non-profits do exactly that to encourage giving? (just devil's advocate to your premise) -
hey look at that, straw man fallacies and hyperbole exist. ------- -- ------- @GM Impervium just fyi, it's hard not to read into your statement a little. If a player feels existing popular power sets should remain or be treated with a light touch rather than face dramatic changes, beta testing might not be for them. We, players, should accept our input may not be welcome. We also need to accept that we get what we get. I will acknowledge that a small group of like minded people can fall prey to the echo chamber without some civil discourse or dissenting opinions. It happens.

Should folks who contribute get something extra?

Hey, I am pretty sure I distanced myself from the suggestion from the get go. I definitely was not committed to it being a 'good suggestion'. C'est la vie I do believe recognition is important, so the idea resonated with me. I don't mind putting an idea out there and getting feedback. Motivational stuff can be tricky. Not all folks are motivated in the same way. Recognition can bring teams or groups together, it can elevate participation, it can also divide and isolate. If there was some form of recognition for running things in game would that be okay? I'm not bothered if folks got some recognition. -
High Level Roadmap / More Mid Level Content / New Player Stuff

Completely. Though I don't see 'cringing' as a problem, more a reaction on par with 'why would someone buy that color car?' 'Mired'?.. maybe a small exaggeration for effect. Still, it's not to hard to go over a billion, even getting deals. Some of the builds could approach the infamy cap depending on a players patience level. 3 sets Winters could be (3x6x~$20M = $360M) 2 sets ATO (2x6x~$18 = $216) 3 partial Purple sets (3x5x~$20M = $300M) A number of high demand HOs or Dsyncs ($20M to ~$40M) that we then try and get to 53. And the other sets... Folks here on homecoming have spent outrageous amounts. (still potentially bargains compared to live) I've seen @tidge offer tips and explanations, there's not really anything to take personal for them or well anyone. -

Should folks who contribute get something extra?

You're gonna be okay. My thoughts hadn't really gone right to pay-for-play, I can see the concern there. I was thinking more along the lines of a real badge rather than an in-game badge or a one day heads up if something was about to hit Beta or drop on live. Figuring someone might have a good idea or something fun.. you got me. @Frozen Burn My ask was simply if peeps had input (ideas or concerns). So, thanks. @Ghost Who doesn't enjoy the occasional riot.. -
Should folks who contribute get something? I have no problem with the current system. This is merely a question/suggestion/discussion topic. We all get to play. Not everyone donates, remembers to, or can donate. Again, I have no problem with the current funding system. When putting $$ into a kickstarter there is often something extra provided. One could suggest those donating to Homecoming are helping keep the lights on and funding ongoing development. Yes, it is a donation with no expectation. However, I would guess if we shutdown the day after a donation window, a good faith effort would be made to return unused funds.

High Level Roadmap / More Mid Level Content / New Player Stuff
Troo replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
well.. 'need' and 'like' are two different things. as are details yet to be determined compared to a high level peek at what might be coming down the pike. duh if changes are happening to something folks are putting time into or care about, there can be a justification. the irony of 'don't tell me how to play' slathered with 'let me tell you how to post'... I'm just having some fun with you on this one. Mr. A is not a primary offender. 'The Devs' are fully capable of speaking for themselves. Just as they are capable of taking suggestions and not taking action them. We all get to have an opinion. I support ideas and suggestions that I might strongly disagree with at least being able to be put forward. -

High Level Roadmap / More Mid Level Content / New Player Stuff
Troo replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
sure added "without penalizing solo play" of course it would be great if any encouragement did not come with a penalty elsewhere. -
Random thoughts & suggestions Some suggestions: 1. A bit of cleanup and prioritization can be a good first step. (a lot has been worked on) 2. Second would be a high level public roadmap. 3. Identify areas of confusion for new folks. Do we need TOs DOs SOs HOs IOs ATOs and a bunch of others if no one uses? Are Origins relevant beyond character theme? Incarnates sooo confusing. 4. Potentially address encouraging folks to play characters at least a little bit rather than simply skipping massive amounts of content. We don't need to force anything or declare a-right-way-to-play. (acknowledging some steps taken already) Remember Respecification Trials? How about earning a cape? Crafting that first enhancement? More active Super Groups <-- how to encourage this without penalizing solo play? Implement some suggestions to curb the current meta which can drown out being new. "What the heck does that mean?!!" "Don't tell me how to play!!" I get that, and that's not my intention. Here is the thing: I cringe when I see a newer player ask for help on a character or build and the immediate suggestions are multi-billion builds that practically require having tier 4 incarnates. This is often dismissive of the players current level, wealth and knowledge. If some said this practice is bad for the game, I wouldn't argue with them and that is just my opinion.

so they are working on stuff that is in beta.. or close to live beta.
