Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #42: The Shadow Shard
Troo replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
Some of the mini games are fun. Adding a Siren's Call style zone event to a non-pvp zone would be cool. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Battle_for_Siren's_Call -

Add a Bit of Wiggle Room to 'On the Ground' Powers
Troo replied to TheZag's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
@biostem@TheZag I thought there was some wiggle room. I know improvements have been made to a number of ground powers over time. Example: "Powers that could only affect players on the ground will now affect all players above them as well as standing on them. This is to fix a PVP exploit making ground based powers ineffective. Powers fixed: Tar Patch, Bonfire, Ice Patch, Ice slick, Quicksand, Caltrops, and Volcanic Gasses." -Patch Notes/2008-05-20 Grounded may be an exception as grounding requires touch. Though the description says 'near' Grounded You are Grounded and naturally very resistant to Energy and Negative Energy damage. You also have added resistance to Endurance Drain effects. Additionally, Grounded provides Immobilize and Knockback protection, but only applies when you are near the ground. This power is always on and costs no Endurance. -
Salvage is fungible. Sell one rare salvage and if you're the high bidder it will convert to what you wanted. There are some details I am skipping here. Also, Brainstorms can be used to convert into salvage. 20 brainstorm equals any random, 40 is a tech or arcane.

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #38: Speed Runs
Troo replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
I can enjoy a speed run as much as a kill most. For me, it can boil down to having a team on the same page. Nothing worse than joining a team/group with unclear goals and non-complimentary tactics. Going for record times isn't really my thing but a well organized, knowledgeable group with teleport powers and a plan can make a mockery of many TFs. -

Inevitable destruction and ruin?.. I'm not saying that's why I do redside giveaways. -

In short, this is possible to do... (that's what I just read @TheZag) ..but folks choose not too. I totally agree that minor changes or corrections to overpowered sets might not be applicable. That said, 'revamps' could absolutely be considered. This could be a great way to skirt the cottage rule guideline. Each reason you listed to not do it could be flipped around. Many of the revamps already come with new powers or changed power names. How would you choose? I trust Homecoming to use good judgement and their willingness to listen to reasonable feedback. "I know it when I see it" -Supreme Court justice Potter Stewart Given that less and less folks participate in development, this is a fair request which could be considered. It might help with many scenarios: Players who take a break to come back to wildly different characters that they've invested time into. Players who don't feel heard in the open Beta process because they were too late in the cycle. Player could play both versions and decide for themselves which they prefer. Changes to Regen could be possible without impacting the many who like Regen with a tweak versus the idea of a total revamp in order to chase the meta or some maniacal vision of what Regen should be. "not all sets have to be the same" -Troo Cottage Rule. Dark Armor. Consider this: If the new Force Field sets are so great and such improvements who cares if someone chooses to play the old version? Play how you want. Give players options.

Suggestions that only work at 50 with Incarnates (T3+).. bleh. (In part that's what is broken with the game and many players *steps off soapbox* ) Rad works really well for close up action. Pairing it with something that can keep you alive and floor an enemy's damage resists and or regen helps. I can see why you went sonic. Rad / Dark Fearsome Stare can put swaths of enemies in a timeout, Tar Patch does -spd -res and can stack while you whittle down your selected targets. Dark has a strong tool box for Corruptors.

Brutes having a scaling component that rewards maintaining Fury has always been compelling. Keeping it something that could be done without Fury kept it from being ridiculous. +Damage can be achieved through inspirations. +Recharge can not. Giving Broots an inherent that inspirations cannot could be overpowered. Hypocritically, increasing AoE range but not/or maybe target caps could be interesting. But Fury = Kill-MoR3-FasT3r could be hard to balance.
