  1. Confirmed. Thought at first glance there was something wonky between Jac and Juicer, but Jac is a level 7 and that buys him one year (which seems overly generous).
  2. PvP in CoX is 90% build on even ground. Give one player extra slots in available powers as well as mules and set bonuses in powers unavailable in that zone.. no contest. //////////// PVP zone badges include exploration & history some of which apply to accolades, (note: also a day job) ~28 badges in RV ~9 badges in Warburg ~9 badges in Siren's ~10 badges in Bloody Bay These <50 aren't just badges, some represent activities that players are encouraged to participate in.
  3. No jealousy. 😛 I had roughed this suggestion out a couple weeks ago. Others have touched on it over time as well. Folks have asked for a quick way to level up that doesn't involve PLing. Rather than making something exclusive to PvP a reasonable option could have been tested for everyone.
  4. was that sarcasm?
  5. If this was an option for arena or a special server, it could be interesting, and equivalent to using the Test server (minus wipes). Even a new zone could be enabled just for this. This isn't that. There are more holes in this than really holey Swiss cheese. If folks say anything against pvp changes, they get tarred and feathered as someone who hates pvp. I love open zone pvp, 1 v1 arena, and gladiators. I dislike the team 1, 2, 3 fire targeting exercise that has how many teams participating over all servers? I, for one, do street sweeping and missions in PvP zones as well as work on badges including those required for accolades. Yes a level 50 with all the bells and whistles could be significantly better than an actual level 20, 30 or 40. Exemplaring doesn't really strip slots, set bonuses, or unique bonuses.
  6. even the blind squirrel finds a nut and all that.. just a feeling.
  7. I did say even if comically earned. Besides, PvP looks like they'll be handing out instant Tier 4 50s with all the bells a whistles. Talk about market impacts. I do agree about market concerns. I think there is a median point that could balance supply & demand. Levels 1-10 are likely not contributing as much as level 48-50. There seems to be a trend, and we can be part of molding the future or hurl expletives from rocking chairs on the porch.
  8. The expectation is an existing player who is PvP curious will level up, selecting powers they may not be familiar with under very different PvP rules, spend significantly to IO a build out, and then experience tremendous success.. I'll echo the likelihood of a bad experience is high. Insta Highest Level possible. Come PvP on Homecoming! (what could possibly go wrong?) Why isn't this available for those who only want to do endgame content?
  9. We can recognize that many folks wanna advance levels or avoid level ranges. I could be agreeable to this IF, even comically, it is earned. Folks write that they've done the same thing over & over and want to build a new alt while avoiding some of the grind. Okay. I would propose a Level Up Token or similar vehicle which can be redeemed for somewhere less than level fifty. Something around 40. Activities from levels ~40 through 50 could keep the wheels turning for game economy and such. 10 levels of exp, $$, drops, etc. 40 provides the opportunity to play to 50 or get there by other means, we still can choose. Needing a 50 to get it makes sense. (should it be more than one?) An infamy sink could makes sense. (how much is enough?) A certain number or combination of badges could make sense. (similar to how some accolades work) Maybe have ~80% of zones enabled for a Long Range Transporter (we've actually visited most of the zones) A different level around 40 might work better, where ever the balance of $$, drops, exp, etc occurs. Levels 1-'x' equals the same as approximately 'x'-50. I agree with the many folks who said level 50 tokens could be a bad idea. But I think something reasonable could be cooked up. Accommodating the spirit of the request and keep folks actually playing. Sure some will PL the rest of the way but this is better for them too.
  10. used to.. i'll check https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Incarnate_Merit_Vendor Category Subcategory Item Astral Merits Empyrean Merits Conversion Merit Astral Merit 1 Emp into 1 Astral 1 Conversion Merit Reward Merit 1 Astral into 1 Reward 1 Inspiration Super Amazing Luck 1 Inspiration Super Back in the Fight 1 Inspiration Super Furious Rage 1 Inspiration Super Immortal Recovery 1 Inspiration Super Liberate 1 Inspiration Super Resistant 1 Inspiration Super Sight Beyond Sight 1 Inspiration Super Ultimate 2 Recipe IO Set 16-32 Recipe PVP IO Set 50-70 Recipe Very Rare IO Set 40 Enhancement Archetype Enhancement Non-special piece + 25 million inf 55 Enhancement Archetype Enhancement Special piece + 25 million inf 70
  11. 500 Empyrean Merits does equal 5,000 Reward Merits and then 15,000 Converters worth ~1B. 500 Empyrean Merits also equals 10,000 Incarnate Threads. That's enough to simply unlock all the Incarnate abilities on ~40 level 50s without doing one Vet Level. (someone might wanna check my math)
  12. You've got time. Imagine folks who don't know about this potentially happening! Empyrean/Astral Merits can also be emailed to another character. I can't remember off hand if they are account bound. If not, they could be sent to another account.
  13. arthurh, I can't remember. Do you play Redside much? I am merely looking for context is all.
  14. This merely increases the distance between PVE & PVP while using open zones shared by the two. It might actually increase the barrier to entry as the highest level characters are easily acquired, tuned and specialized. Putting a level 32 in the same zone as what this makes comically easy.. well, that is not a step toward parity.
  15. Without any name calling, I can see you point. Dev Diary will hopefully provide details on why it was initially proposed and why it was reverted.
  16. Is the idea to make access to reward merits through non AE content simply easier to get than through AE? If so, I think I prefer the previous solution.
  17. "The ‘Down’ vector is especially interesting, because it allows for the creation of powers that cause Knockdown but have a high magnitude and can punch through KB protection. This is something that was not possible before, since a high magnitude would normally mean a long knockback distance." "After the knock vector is calculated, that setting can be used to rotate the vector along an axis and point almost any direction you can think of" "The magnitude expression here is to simulate a dense gravitational source and translates to ((45-dist)/19)^3. In other words, the pull is very strong near the event horizon and quickly falls off to very weak for targets further away."
  18. Some grabbed a name for every alt they ever had and just never got around to using them before rage quitting over the Energy Melee changes. Some grabbed names for old SG mates and friends to save for them. Some grabbed every name they could think of like it was a new dot com land grab. Some grabbed names just to block peeps they didn't like.. There's lots of reasons, and this is a very accommodating step toward a long promised feature. Once it is closer to implementation, it'll be reviewed. After implementation, it'll be reviewed and adjusted if necessary.
  19. I'm gonna cite dunning-kruger here... oh, never mind you're gonna get deleted anyway. Thanks for the chuckle.
  20. @Jacke and @Bionic_Flea may have a reasonable concern that hadn't occurred to myself.
  21. incorrect speculation based on incomplete information can lead to inadequate assumptions.. merits are the great equalizer
  22. I hate testing.. I like this better. Should I offer a sacrifice as well or is that superfluous or gratuitous?
