  1. Yes, this was when discussing the comparisons of the new options under consideration and areas of concern with the rework. Don't confuse that with what the old Energy Melee did and how the old version would be definitely broken with one or two of the new changes. The link also shows: "It also helps show why it is broken to have a full time fast Energy Transfer (fET) exist with the new faster Total Focus (fTF), especially for Stalkers who would have BU > AS > fET > fTF > BS > fAS possibilities." (plus fast snipes) Folks promoting that the new Energy Melee is better in all ways is simply false. It can be better at AoE now and that had a cost. It can also be dialed in to fit some attack chains and that had a cost. The new EM is different. It has acceptable high performance without being too strong on performance builds. Previously it was too strong, hence the heavy nerf.

Depending on the character and the enemy group, here's some generic roles I learned to prioritize; Healers first (Surgeons, Menders, etc) Buffers/Summoners Special Status/De-togglers (Blind, Mezz, Etc) Debuffers Non-Anchors Bosses Anchors (if remain) Luckily many groups only have one, two or three of the above top four.
  3. Good for you. Gotta speak up or your uses will get steamrolled. The folks in charge just disagreed with how you and others used it. (right or wrong) (I'm not a Stone Armor expert.. the new design might also lean toward completely IOd builds rather than lower level or leveling builds.)

  9. MoG can also counter end issues or sapping with +Recovery. As @Koopak pointed out, maybe swap the Fast Healing and Reconstruction slotting.

  15. Lots of great comments even where folks disagree. Procs seem to increasingly get discussed and promoted. (procs, proc builds & proc monsters) Folks invest time and resources building testing researching; IF adjustments are on the road map, could players get a heads up. or even a hint at potential changes? If things like turning non-damage/low-damage powers into major damage dealers or avoiding the Rage crash by using procs are working as intended, confirmation from the HC team would be helpful. In-game descriptions can definitely be 'lacking'. This could be an easier area to address than implementing sweeping changes and probably should be done regardless.

  18. I think you've reiterated my point where the intended gimmick might not be the way some folks want to play a set.
  19. While this makes sense, the practical application might need to include that players may already have some pieces of a set or are doing some converting on their own. I'm not sure where you crafting or converting is concentrated, but I've found "convert as little as possible across more enhancements" yields better overall results. (I can elaborate) Example: Rather than shoot for exactly 6 specific enhancements. I'll convert 20 enhancements and likely end up with 3 complete sets or very close.

  21. Seems accurate. It seems plausible that folks don't like the existing combos because they don't mirror the way we play. Memorizing someone else's vision for the right attack chain.. bleh.. puke.
  22. Accepting the fact that some folks like combos & some folks do not is a good starting place. I've read the first couple pages and will muscle through the rest. It seems many valid points have been made regarding why some folks don't like some combo mechanics. Two points: #1) Myself, and it seems others, dislike a combo mechanic or gimmicks that essentially force players to do something or penalize players for not doing something. #2) I dislike forcing gimmicks or new combo mechanics on existing power sets that don't have them. (just make a friggin' new powerset) I don't begrudge existing combo sets. I haven't seen folks out there insisting that Dual Blades or Staff get revamped and lose the combos, but I do see folks saying some set doesn't have a combo, we should add one. Why is that?
  23. Maybe answered your own question. Besides, PvP deviates enough from regular content that it's tough to get folks interested in having to learn a second game inside the game. Folks just playing the same 3 or 4 builds is kinda boring. I spent a week in RV getting all the badges on a dozen or so characters and didn't see another player. (Indom & Ever)
  24. FYI never ever have I chased movement bonuses. If I wanted to both jump far and run fast, I'd just take two travel powers. But I have a button to toggle travel on and off maybe that's somehow not the case for everyone..
