That's correct, I'm surely not suggesting that Elude is the solution to a character's general endurance problem. The solution to that is slotting endurance reduction and increasing recovery. The claim, to justify the implemantation of Enduring, was that SR is inherently endurance hungry though, which it is not. SR has no consistent endurance issue that needs to be adressed. A SR character that keeps running out of endurance just by regular attacking simply is poorly slotted for soloing. HOWEVER... ... 'should need arise' adresses those occasions where regular slotting won't carry a character anymore (Sappers, multiple Mu Guardians, Ring Mistresses, etc), and where Elude not only keeps defense high when toggles can't, but provides massively increased recovery to carry the toon through the situation. Would I prefer -Rec and -End resists instead? Sure would, but SR provides a different tool instead and it works.

Under Origin select City of Heroes Freedom, not City of Heroes Going Rogue. Epic ATs (the one you've mentioned) can't start in Praetoria.

Your list does not support what you claim it does. Which is.. Your list mentions Energy Cloak providing unique stealth, so this obviously seems to be the set's unique feature to compare SR's scaling resistances against and whether or not 3 passives are justified for the latter. ...and then you list Ninjitsu's Shinobi-Iri below, which does just the same with slightly lower numbers. Energy Cloak is not unique, not even within your shortened list. Its stealth effect is also not relevant to the performance of the set. What is a unique feature about Energy Aura (as a defense set) is Energize's +EndRdx which unlocks at 28, not 20. Additionally your list and your whole argumentation does not adress the existence of Ice Armor or Stone Armor (yes, those are defense sets too) which both have unique abilities with their T9s Hibernate (Phase)/Icy Bastion (Crashless T9) and Granite Armor (Toggle T9) at Lvl 38, not Lvl 20. With Ice Armor being available to all 4 melee ATs. TL;DR: There is no general power progression of every other defense set that would support your argumentation. Mez Protection no later than Lvl 16, and S/L respectively Melee armor before any other type, that's mostly it, at a glance. You can feel about a power set how you want and you can suggest what you want, that's nobody's business and exactly what this forum is for. But... I don't think it's too much to ask that suggestions aren't mislabelled, stuff isn't made up and facts aren't misrepresented in favor of it. Your mockery does nothing to support your claims, let alone your suggestions. Ominous has a slightly different connotation in my first language. But then, the existence of power sets that managed to elude me for years could be considered unsettling - but as it turned out they don't exist. You also don't have to protect me from the dangers of Energy Aura, Shield Defense and Ninjitsu - my Energy Aura, Shield Defense and Ninjitsu toons do that. Thank you for the offer though.

I'm trying to stay out of discussions, because they're consuming a lot of time for little to no gain, but this is so wrong from start to end, I can't. A solution implies that there's a problem, and SR'S only problem is the order of powers for Scrappers and Stalkers. 1. Yes, the order of powers for Scrappers and Stalkers in particular is terrible. It is irrelevant that it differs. 2. No they don't. SR passives provide defense, DDR and scaling resistances, even without endurance. (Additionally they provide slotting space for special IOs, in turn opening the option to 6-slot toggles, btw.) 3. SR has 3 armor toggles at standard endurance costs, so if it is inherently hungry than almost all armor sets are. Also Elude provides a massive endurance boost, should need arise, and if people skip it, that's a voluntary decision, not a weakness of the set. 4. Instead it proactively lowers the chance to take more damage and lowers the incoming damage. Same effect under most circumstances. That effect is unique, yes, but it doesn't define the set and claiming that it dedicates three powers to it, is wrong. SR is defined by providing the highest defense values (positional, to boot), highest DDR. and passive damage buff (because that's what +recharge and only one, slow recharging click power mean, as soon as you go IOs). It is also among the fastest sets, which used to translate into XP/hour, but that has lost meaning mostly due to prestige powers and temps. 1. I'm still trying to figure out what those ominous other power sets are, all following the same progression pattern, and having unique abilities. 2. Again, the ominous other sets and their unique powers. Checking all Brute armor sets (they have the most) I see powers that are unique from T2 (Inexhaustible. Hardly set defining, that would be Adaption, but unique) to T9 (Granite Armor. Non crashing godmode). 3. Tiny absorb ticks at best. A huge absorb shield effectively negates the danger of a huge hit bypassing the set's scaling resistances or psionic control powers (-> no positional flag) hurting. 4. see above Reducing the activation time of SR toggles to 0, or offering a choice between original, stacking Practiced Brawler and a toggle version would be a Quality of Life change (and even that would be debatable). What you are proposing are massive buffs to the set, mislabelled as QoL.

I have slots. No errors. why is Publish grayed out? (FIXED)
Lex Talion replied to cranebump's topic in Mission Architect
No publishing issues here. Since @cranebump and @cranebump2 each have 3 active arcs already - you did request additional slots, I take it? And if you did, do you have to redeem them somehow? (Never requested additional slots myself.) -
When you look at Attack Mechanics you will notice that ToHit directly opposes Defense. Either aggro the LTs placing the emanators and immediately get out of range, as proposed by Werner already, or you knock the spawn down with Footstomp and kill the Quartz immediately after it has been placed and while the spawn is still recovering from KD. Quartz emanator's buff and for good measure: Cairn emanator's buff

The Emp with a Boomstick - Solo MoITF 54/8, No Insp
Lex Talion replied to Lex Talion's topic in Defender
You're saying 'Empathy as a power set', but then elaborate on a number related points instead. It doesn't sound like your problem is a build, or lack of one, but the fact that teamwork, support in general and Empaths in particular have lost importance. The game has reached a state where you can have a cat run over your keyboard with a laser pointer and still earn xp. As a general answer: yes, Empathy is a lackluster set, especially solo, and yes, you are a relic of a bygone era. So am I, btw. I just learned to have fun dancing on the ruins. Which is why I do pointless things like soloing TFs with bottom-of-the barrel sets or builds. If you want to be a happy Emp you need to realize AND accept one thing: The more team oriented your build as an Emp is, and the more competent and reliable you become in putting it to use, the less people will take notice, because everything runs smooth. Empathy is the invisible set. Playing Support Emp can still be for you, just don't do it for recognition, do it because you like doing it. Also don't just focus on being an Emp. You have 2 power sets, make both count and don't be afraid to happily blast away when your Empathy isn't needed. -

Your faith in what exactly? The AT, power set, soloing ability, team recognition? -

I didn't plan to separate him, intending to test Core Lore pets that actually can hit him reliably, instead. Just before he died he jumped down from an edge (1st M4 pic, center of the right half of the pic), effectively breaking LOS to all Nictus. -
Dual Pistols - Suppressive Fire - BLA/DEF/COR
Lex Talion replied to BrandX's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Thank you for taking the time to dig that out, much appreciated. I gotta say that the grain of salt is more like a solid chunk, though. Unless I fail to read those tables correctly they all seem to assume the maximum recharge of +400% to build attack chains, which, for a self-buffed toon, is unlikely to sustain, to say the least. For the sake of comparing pure set capabilities, in the case of aforementioned Dual Pistols, even the second best realistic chain Piercing - Pistols - Executioner's - Pistols would require +255% recharge. If you cannot or don't want to dedicate a build to recharge to that extent an attack chain has to use Dual Wield, which has below average DPA and drags down the overall DPS with its animation time. -
Concept: Vanguard Tactical Troop Support Build: Full Support Emp with Debuffs Loadout for this MoITF run: Alpha: T4 Musculature Radial Destiny: T4 Clarion Radial Lore: T4 Vanguard Core Hybrid: T4 Melee Core Interface: T4 Reactive Radial Judgement: T3 Pyronic Partial Radial Judgement used in target rich environments, Lore used against AVs mostly. Official time: 3:36h incl beverages, food, biology Actual time: 3:28h M1 ~17min (no Kheldian ambush. I already knew that the toon could beat it) M2 ~41min (ranged Kheldian/Nictus bosses cleared at every Cyst. Every. Damn. Cyst.) M3 ~88min (pushed through til Phalanx wave 3, then killed wave 3 and the remains of 1 and 2, also cleared the area around and the platform. Consequently Daedalus darted about twice my snipe range at some random target that I hadn't cleared as soon as I started shooting at Rommie... ) M4 ~62min (cleared everything near Rommie incl. walls. Captain Claphappy on drugs and my buffed up Vanguard pets made short work of Running Rommie, who managed to break LOS to his Nictus buddies with his last dying breath. Killing the Nictus went quick and unspectacular after that.) Pros: Considering that the toon is built as a support toon, (choice of secondary, high recharge, -Res procs, no Aim, etc) and all I did was swapping the Alpha and switching to Clarion Radial I‘m very satisfied with the result. The more so since I don‘t run MoITF attempts over and over until I finally make it. Using another Destiny would have made a great difference, but I wanted to see Lorepets in (relevant) action and would have considered swapping iPowers mid-TF cheating. With standard loadout the toon can keep a complete team under Fortitude - in theory. In praxis there is always someone out of range, out of sight or not even on the map. Standard/Team loadout is T4 Spiritual Core and T4 Barrier Core or whatever Destiny seems appropriate. Cons: How am I going to motivate myself to do it with any other toon after this? A couple screenshots taken from video footage. Sorry for the GUI being visible - I simply derped, used the wrong hotkey combo and only noticed it after I uploaded everything to Imgur. Yay me. "If we walk far enough," says Dorothy, "we shall sometime come to someplace." M1: Me and the boys and a cow M2: Starting trouble M3: A heart-attack moment after I completely missed Requiem being in the mix M3: Trying not to cross the streams M4: Fluffball-bashing - an unspectacular finish M4: Men at work

Bug Report For MM's and Mothership shield in RWZ
Lex Talion replied to Dimensional Warrior's topic in Bug Reports
Sometimes pets get stuck or blocked and end up so far out of range that their window goes black as if they had been killed. They are still alive though, and occupy their 'spot' as a summon of that type. Next time it happens type /releasepets. After that you should be able to resummon them. -
Bugs aside 4 possible reasons come to my mind why an accolade isn't granted: 1. the obvious: missing badges 2. wrong alignment (Hero/Vigilante) vs (Villain/Rogue) 3. one badge mistaken for another (I once was convinced to have Strike Buster, but had Gangbuster) 4. badge rewarded already, but went unnoticed (HP/End accolades are passive powers and could be disabled under Options > Windows > Status Window Buff Display) If really none of this applies to your toon, it'S time for a /petition as mentioned above already.

Correct, and 3 out of 4 T3 Agility powers do that too. You can check the powers ingame by clicking Powers > Incarnate Abilities > Create > Rightclick On Power.
-
Agility's main attribute is Endurance Modification. Agility Core Boost buffs Endurance Modification and Recharge, while Agility Radial Boost buffs Endurance Modification and Defense. The textbody of Agility Radial Boost's Description tab incorrectly claims that it's boosting Recharge and Defense. The header correctly says Endurance Modification and Defense though. (Mids Reborn has copied that mistake btw)

Was entertaining myself with the costume creator and accidentally must have clicked all arrows to log in. Checking my own data after realizing that I was logged in. Using /whereami Looking for myself in search window and asking other players if they can see my data, global, etc. Logged out to see if the toon appeared in my character list. It did, but couldn't be logged in again.

Best toon to pair with an ice/ice blaster?
Lex Talion replied to qas_illustration's topic in General Discussion
How is everyone missing the obvious here? You need to play a Water/Nature Defender, of course. How else would you make cooled Lemonade? -
Under Import/Export select Short Forum Post, then, under Data Chunk, check Export Data Chunk as well as a DataLink. You can now simply paste the build into a post.

Gun Drone Aggro can we tone it down or remove it ?
Lex Talion replied to plainguy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If you look at Gun Drone's power list you will notice 'Taunt' as the last point, since this patch I assume it was an attempt to upgrade Gun Drone to a combined damage and survivability tool, so it might actually become a (somewhat) useful T9 power. Unfortunately combining a taunt effect with vulnerability to smash damage AND complete resistance to healing makes Gun Drones piñatas without filling. Personal 2 Cent: I used to like Gun Drones too, and a pair of Gun Drones flanking you looks badass indeed, so I feel your pain. But as long as they don't attack my target or at least do cone attacks I consider them random, fragile, and therefore useless ST DoT dispensers that I won't waste a power pick on, let alone precious slots. -
Anyone running Petless / Semi-petless masterminds @ 50 ?
Lex Talion replied to plainguy's topic in Torchbearer
Why do people solo TFs at +4/x8, or turn off inspirations, or run on SOs only? To get the feeling of challenge and accomplishment back, that the game itself has lost long ago. -
Triage Beacon provides +Regen, not Heal ticks. Did you check your regeneration under Powers -> Combat Attributes -> Base -> Regeneration Rate?
