Level 4 problem not sure if it is related......
SeraphimKensai replied to NavyCPO's topic in Help & Support
If hot bars sometimes don't respond to keyboard clicks, sometimes alt tabbing out of the game and back in resolves it. -
I typically come up with a concept in my head for a pairing to make, or occasionally will get inspired by a discussion on the boards, and even have left it all to chance by using a random number generator to pick my AT & powersets for me. I have been known to take up to about 2 hours in the costume creator, but now a days I'm much more efficient. I've made some saved costume files that I can use as a base to expand off of in addition to the templates that the costume creator has already. Name wise I usually don't bother thinking up a name until after I know what AT/Powersets/Costume/Origin I'm going to roll with and then I'll come up with something that feels like it could reasonably be a name for a superhero/villain. I usually try for simple names like "Hitpoint," "Butane", etc. but if I'm feeling witty I have done stuff like "Catch of the Day" for a mutant fish monster character. Most characters these days are for me. I have a habit of taking lesser used powersets and making a custom build for them to make the character perform decently enough. Each might not be fire/fire blaster levels of damage or stone armor/ice melee levels of damage mitigation but at this point I can make anything functional. Way back when the game first started I even mained an Empathy Defender, despite my previous experience with other MMOs as typically DPS or a MT. The one AT in the game I had issues getting into and feeling good about was always MM's as although during live I had at one point access to 382 lvl 50s, not a single one was a mastermind. Luckily enough I've overcome that emotional hurdle since the release of private CoH servers. Most the characters I roll I get to 50 and fully load them with IOs before I start making a determination if I really like the character or not. If I don't like it, I usually just let it sit there and collect dust. Sometimes that happens unintentionally these days as I have a lot of great characters but due to diminished playtime or waning interest, or waxing interest in something else they might sit there. For instance I have a tank that's a DA/SS tank and it's really strong, has great synergy between oppressive gloom and handclap and a fast recharging footstomp with double stacked rage.nthe toon works great but it's been probably a year or more since I really played it. As a benefit of getting a character to 50, I'll make a bio for it. It's no secret that I play on Everlasting despite not being a role player in game, I find it almost criminal not to make a bio for the toons I've invested enough time to get to 50 and slot it to the gills with IOs. I do tend to go back to characters from time to time. I don't truly have a main these days, but I have three accounts full of toons at this point. I do like to join a pug and ask the team if they need anything in particular because at this point I likely have available (I like to be able to fill any role needed). My favorite ATs of CoH by lore design alone as always been Kheldians despite the fact that they tend to get disregarded and need a QoL pass at the very least. So yeah once the live servers died, I was often thinking about how cool Warshade were so that was one of the first characters I rolled when HC launched, and I do cycle back to it fairly frequently (despite the fact that Larian Studios stole my character's name for one of their characters in BG3, oh well I didn't trademark it, and their character is significantly different than mine that I'm okay with it). Thanks for keeping up with these @DougGraves and Happy New Years everyone.

I typically don't publicly release my builds, but I'm willing to work with you and review your proposed build in relation to the goals you set for yourself and see if there's ways to be meet those goals or be more efficient in doing so. The whole feed a man for a day vs the teach them to fish maxim.

Blaster power Reaction Time inconsistencies
SeraphimKensai replied to Neoplasm's topic in Bug Reports
https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=blaster_support.martial_manipulation.reaction_time&at=blaster I don't see the ignore resistance flag set up on the self buff at power deactivation for reaction time looking at CoD. -
I haven't watched it yet due to Christmas family activities, but I'll watch it possibly this weekend on my jail-broken fire stick. Given the reviews I've seen it doesn't seem worth it to find a babysitter and then go buy tickets/concessions at a theater.

Looking for help with a Plant/Storm build.
SeraphimKensai replied to SterlingAg's topic in Controller
The more I think this combo over, the more I like it's potential. I'm sitting here toying with the idea of also throwing leviathan mastery in to get waterspout with a hibernate as a top off when needed as well. I might just roll one for the hell of it as I really like both plants and storm individually. I'm guessing I'd probably use musculature radial, ageless core, degen radial, ion core, bp radial, and either support core or melee core for hybrid. This seems like it would be an end heavy controller that carves recharge, to maximize lightning storm/tornado/carrion creepers. -
Posi 1: Come with me if you want to live

Ice armor is a pretty epic power set in its own. I recently ran up an ice/spines alt that was a joy to run. -
Does the influence gain while not using an XP booster allow a new toon to slot themselves with DOs and transition into SO's? Does selling unnecessary enhancements, recipes, salvage, inspirations cover any difference? As the game design assumes SO's from lvl 25 upwards, are new players reasonably able to afford SO's from that level? Not necessarily ++'ing them, but at least slotting white enhancements? It's been so long since I've used SO's that I can't remember how much influence is spent on them as a character levels up. I do remember back from 2004 that my first toon was difficult to keep them ++'d with maximum effectiveness. However since IOs came out, most people I know would typically use lvl 30 generic IOs as they've reasonably scaled up enough that people would just use them until swapping to lvl 50s prior to starting to migrate to Set IOs. As it saved influence over the course of the next 20 levels. I'm not one that really can dig into the synoptic merit of whether to adjust SO pricing is a good or bad thing since I typically just slot IO sets from the time I roll a character. Perhaps if anything performing analysis to ensure that low level SOs are reasonably affordable based on low level influence gain has merit since that correlates with the overall design direction of Homecoming's removal of TO's.

Just remember that Dispersion a bubble has a radius of 25 feet, the pet io auras have a radius of 40 feet, and maneuvers has a radius of 60 feet. So having the defense uniques despite might be overkill for non-incarnate content gives you a larger leash for your pets. You definitely want the resistance based ones though.

I find it difficult on a force fielder to not have access to power boost and clarion radial. You can pop both and then toss out the shields, and your boys will likely be at or into incarnate level softcap defense. Not hard mode cap, but that's still pretty damn good. Clarion radial will also help your protector bots by boosting their shield value as well, which they can use on you too.

@Rudra I have no issues with people using leveling pacts to PL up alts. Hell at this point I have more 50's then I can play as is (some I haven't played in more than 2 years). Letting someone else get a few more isn't going to hurt me any. The only issue I see is trying to figure out how to get it to actually work and be bug free.

Historically, killing buds is how you got HO's. You killed Hamidon and he would spawn a bud in zone for every player in zone. The issue was is that some people would kill more than one and would get multiple HO's while someone would lose out. That was changed to make you get a HO from doing damage to Hamidon directly. That ensured everyone was able to get one, but it didn't stop people from leeching (getting a hit in and then not otherwise help the league). Today they simply provide a badge, and act as a gatekeeper to limit how often Hami is killed as you have to clear all the buds, and then a random number of DE monsters before Hami pops again.

Here's a few related links: Given that I don't see Leveling Pacts coming back, as it would apparently take someone to step up and re-code them to get them working. Then again I could be wrong but I think given the super sidekick system, the need for them is substantially less than it was with the original sidekick system. I'm not opposed to them being fixed and reinstated, but like I said I don't see it being a high priority.

My understanding is that they had them on intially but that they were having unintentional stress on the servers so they were disabled.

What would you pair with ForceFields ??
SeraphimKensai replied to smnolimits43's topic in General Discussion
I have a FF/DB defender and a Ninja/FF MM. FF can be a great set and works well exemplaring in my experience or on hard mode content. The defender was an exercise in stacking defense and flooring tohit which synergize well together. The MM was a randomly rolled toon and it's maybe lvl 46 or so, and due to that I don't have a lot of experience testing that one out. -
I haven't looked at your build as I'm at work currently and don't have mids in my office. That said I have a lot of experience with cold, and some experience with dark blast. With cold, I would lean into recharge for stacking sleet, and ample use of benumb/heat loss. On a corruptor I find it hard to pick any epic besides dark, because of building for perma Soul Drain. Pairing Dark Pit with Oppressive Gloom, you can insta stun bosses in melee, so there's another reason for dark mastery. Dark blast gives you a self heal, and the tohitdebuff helps reduce incoming damage not only to you but also your whole team. I'll try to remember to look at the build later after my kid's bedtime.

When I get a chance to play, it's after my toddler's bedtime, or during a nap on the weekends. I use my laptop often while sitting on the couch, with my dog pinning my legs down. The TV is on often playing a movie or a football/hockey game on TV. That said I haven't had much game time as of late with preparing for Christmas this year. That said Merry Christmas everyone.

Why no irradiate and neutron bomb? The best thing I can suggest regarding the -defense is that it is going to help your whole team hit the targets as well. The -tohit helps both your and your teams ability to avoid being hit, so it can be useful in that regard. This combo seems to me that it works better as a team based blaster.

Poison is pretty forgiving as you only need envenom, weaken, venomous gas, and debatably poison trap if you're going to proc it out. Given the recharge of envemon/weaken and proc rate of venomous gas, I personally find those powers work well enough each with two lvl 53 HOs (Enzymes and Lysosomes). That gives you plenty of power choices and slots to work with for storm blast and pools, so maybe look at some storm blast builds and hodge pidge something together. Try it out on test first to make sure it works for you.

Where did you go post-Sunset?
SeraphimKensai replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm I finished up undergrad and then grad school, and then just became a slave to the grind. Game wise I played probably an unhealthy amount of EVE online, but I had a crazy system that paid for about 2 dozen accounts in Plex so I didn't have to pay a dime. I also did Wow where I mailed a Warlock and got competitive on progress and DPS boards for my server. Never broken the number spot, but they say second is the best for a reason. -
That's why I built mine as a brute as Tanker Foot stomp didn't benefit for a radius increase (although it has a higher target cap, my build gets FS down into the 5 second range with double stacked rage and rad therapy/ground zero proc'd out every 24 or so seconds. I use a rotation of RoP, meltdown and melee core hybrid to res cap while capping slow resistance.
