  1. There's a mechanic for this where the league leader or team leader kicks the leeches. If they don't they are likely complicit in their activities and you can form your own league where you don't allow them.
  2. There is a ln auto lvl 50 button on the live servers, it's for a temporal warrior though.
  3. My stone/rad tanker does advanced difficulty TFs without Granite. I pretty much have granite as a novelty at this point. You'll have much reading to do, I suggest reading up on the patch notes since you left.
  4. I have at this point a fully IOd lvl 50: Elec/Ninja Blaster Elec/Fire Sentinel Dark/Elec Defender Elec/Kin Corruptor So I'd postulate that I have a reasonable degree of experience with Electric Blast. I tend to build towards survivability of +4 solo content. My blaster has soft capped typed defense to all except psi and toxic, and it kills faster than the Sentinel and Defender. The Corruptor lives at the damage cap due to fulcrum shift and caps melee/ranged/energy defense, it also has quicker thunderous blasts than the blaster due to 2-3x stacked siphon speed. The Defender lays down to hit debuffs, saps, and had soft capped def to m/r/a, I've used this to tank AVs through numerous TFs as it also has provoke. The Sentinel has the fasting recharging nuke, and pairs molten embrace nicely, while having ranged def and sentinel resistances. Honestly electric blast can be great on any AT. It largely comes down to how you build it, and discovering how much damage you can manage. Each of my electric blast toons are fun to play and I use them for different purposes. If picking between the blaster or sentinel only, I like the playstyle of the blaster better (also it's concept toon named after my daughter that I made a couple weeks leading up to my daughter's birth).
  5. I've got 2 lvl 50 Necro/dark MM's that I often dual box and play together and bring the horde. That said I've even taken one of my Necro/dark MM's into a 1v1 arena match against an EM/Regen scrapper, and I made it the full ten minutes without dying. They can be very resilient in bodyguard mode plus all the -tohit and twilight grasp to top off. Cold is a great secondary though too, so it's up to you. The only downside I see to Necro/cold is you're the weak link, your pets can be shielded while you don't get to shield yourself. That said you can still self heal with life drain to an extent.
  6. I have a wide variety of toons including small tanks and large support toons. Nothing I do intentionally (at least anymore, back on live I made small characters for PvP as they were tougher to target for click targeters). Now it's all about whatever concept I have at the time.
  7. I've played maybe a dozen or so doms to 50 and beyond. Typically end cost is often high pre sets, that's part of the reason domination refills the end bar. That said you say you went Symphony/Mind, so I assume you went Symphony/Psi Assault. Drain Psyche is an amazing power in its own, and you'll want to get decent recharge out of it so you can ideally keep it perma, that will significantly help out on endurance issues. Based on the pairing it makes sense to play from a reasonable range to maximize your cones, however Mind Probe and psi shockwave helps for things in melee. I strongly recommend ice mastery on a domi for sleet and a lesser degree ice storm. Hoarfrost is great and the frozen armor help quite a bit of you build for typed defense (but I'd aim for ranged defense after getting enough recharge for permadom). Biggest issue would be robots or mobs that are resistant to psy damage, so sleet helps there as well. Dominators IMO are typically require more mobility and planning where to engage mobs than most ATs, Symphony because of its numerous cones expounds upon that. That said once you get perma dom, the mag of your controls will be really high especially given the reverb pet adding to it. It gets a lot easier at that point.
  8. There's day night cycles in a number of zones. Striga for example, Vampires only come out at night. Croatoa for example ghosts only come out at night. I haven't the time to go through each zone and determine if they have a day night cycle though. Those two jobs at spring to mind.
  9. Can still tank incarnate content just fine without Granite. We take Granite so that when someone comes looking for us to tell us our roof has storm damage, our car's warranty is about to expire, or you can get solar panels for no money down, we can blend in with the Devouring Earth and avoid them all together.
  10. I'm curious what the speech was on. I used it last Thursday during a public hearing while discussing a proposed industrial planned unit development.
  11. Welcome back once again folks. This is the penultimate thread in this series. One topic that I've never got around to has been Roleplaying, which is oddly surprising as I've played on Everlasting since Homecoming launched (although I'm not a roleplayer, I picked the server before it was designated the unofficial roleplaying server. I liked the name as I'm a Roald Dahl fan). Do you roleplay in CoH? If so what's your experience been like? How's the community? How welcoming is the roleplay community to new players interested in giving it a try? Can you point to any good resources for them? What kind of roleplay stories are you currently involved with? If you had to change something about roleplay in the game what would you implement? As always thanks again for playing.
  12. Just wait til you get to 1 slot Teleport.
  13. The most optimal slotting depends on your entire build and goals for the blaster. Based on the log 7.5 and the 5 panaceas, I assume you're focus is on getting more recharge, which is fine in itself if that's what your build needs, but like I said it makes more sense to evaluate slotting choice of a power that allows a variety of slotting based on seeing the whole picture. It's quite a bit different than if you were asking how to slot Hasten, in which every one would say 2 +5 lvl 50 Generic Recharge IOs.
  14. That's similar to me showing my niece the game when she was 8 at the time. I had her roll a character, make a costume, and play through the tutorial. She made a Mind/Rad controller. She doesn't have a big background on comics so I had to explain the basics of the AT and what each powersets did. She spent like an hour on costume design, where she was trying to make the character "funny looking". It ended up like one of the costumes you get when you hit random albeit with a fiery aura. She got through the Galaxy City tutorial, but then once she got to Atlas, she said she wanted to make pancakes for everyone, so we quit the game so I could help her make homemade pancakes and bacon so she could wake up her parents and my wife with pancakes. She's 11 now, and I still have her lvl 2 controller on one of my accounts.
  15. You may find Mind/Martial a little underwhelming as I did. That said some other really fun combos I have: Elec/Psi - it's a very resilient sapper and fun to play. Dark/Thorns - dark is strong around and thorns seemed to match the concept, it plays fairly well. Fire/Energy - this was my take on a D&D wizard who fell through a portal and ended up in Paragon City. Illusion/Sav/Ice - one of my favorite Domis, the powersets although different gel together really well.
  16. Morning last night I felt the urge for a new toon and I rolled up a psi/ta/flame blaster via my random toon generator. It got me wondering as I don't think I've ever seen this combo in the wild. I'm sure some people have one as on paper it looks like a reasonable combo playing mostly at range aside of dropping into PBAoE range for the nuke. Personally I have experience with both sets up to 50 independent of each other, but like I said I've never seen the two combined at least in homecoming (I did have an suboptimal TA/Psi defender on live when trick arrow was first released, but even then I never ran into another). I figure this toon would largely play at range, while using things like glue arrow, OSA, and Bonfire to keep things under a lot of DoT ticks, while blasting away with psi tornadoes and it's ST-rotation. OSA would be ignited at lower levels by ENA or an energy/fire proc, and later also with bonfire or char. I'm not asking for builds as I like to make my own, but figured I'd pop up this thread to see if anyone has tried pairing psi blast and tact arrow and see what experiences people may have with it. I did a cursory search through the blaster subforum and didn't see anything combining the two. Thanks folks.
  17. Welcome back. As we near the 20th anniversary of the game this next spring, I figure moving the conversation over to discuss Multigenerational Gaming within CoH might be an interesting topic. How many of you either have introduced the game to your kids, nephews, nieces, or even grandkids? Otherwise if you're part of the younger crowd, was there someone in your family that introduced the game to you? For the older crowd, what's that like getting to share a game we've played for years with your younger family members? For the younger folk, have you assumed the torch, that is is the person that introduced the game to you no longer plays? I'm pretty curious if we have any groups that might be three generations deep on this game. I know when the game was brand new I ran with a group for awhile that had a 74 year old grandma playing as a tanker with two of her grandkids who were my age at the time in their early 20's. I always thought that was super cool, because as a kid I spent a lot of time visiting and hanging out with my grandmas, although neither of them ever used a computer. as always thanks folks, and as a reminder I got 2 more of these left before I hang up the hat.
  18. Here's one to play around with a bit. Not saying its better, but just a different take on it, it still has a big hole to toxic damage (luckily that's fairly rare). But it has a few tools to boost that if you need it. It has enough recharge to have rage double stacked, and also that benefits power sink but also handclap which in itself is a big damage mitigation tool. I have soul mastery in here for gloom and darkest night (darkest night gives a ton of more mitigation, not just to you but also your whole team). Also its immune to slows . Stat wise, it should be fine for general +4 content. Brute - Super Strength - Elec Armor.mbd
  19. Why not build a kin that has capped defenses and keeps fulcrum shift on auto with you on follow? Hello damage cap.
  20. I'm at work now so I don't have access to mods, I'll try and set a reminder to check out the build later tonight after I get my one year old to sleep. A decent trick to help you get your resistances to where you need if your not already doing it, rotating rune of power, barrier, and melee to boost your resistances.
  21. I'd suggest posting your build, and discussing which resistance/defence/damage goals you have. Personally I like to build off the 40% slow resistance you get via Lightning Reflexes to get that up to cap, and build for resistances and then add recharge as it helps to have your heal cycle faster along with maintaining the end discount. More recharge helps you double stack rage and get more footsteps. Also helps you have more access to Powersink to restore your end after rage crashes and sap targets around you. There's plenty of approaches to consider though.
  22. If your not taking rage, why take Super Strength at all? Street Justice works well and has a similar design albeit without being designed around rage.
  23. If running as a Fire tank I strongly recommend building to get your resistances as high as you can then maximize your slow resistance. After that pump recharge for more burn.
  24. For me it comes down to Destiny Incarnates, especially Barrier and Aegis, and even Rebirth is really strong.
  25. As someone who often plays as a Druid in D&D I'm all about shapeshifting combat. I wouldn't mind revisiting the whole idea of the Primalist.
