  1. The Protean fight used to be one I'd over level for when I got it until I learned how to joust him. As long as his energy blasts can't take you down, it's a crazy easy fight if you stay moving. Haaaated it on melee characters til I figured it out. As others have said, though: once someone figures the gimmick out, it's no longer a gimmick and just another part of the equation.
  2. Well, you never ever hear someone on a team say "Man, if only we had more knockback in our attacks because I love chasing things." or "Hey, keep Repel on and run through everything! Woop woop!". However, boy oh boy, do you hear "Please stop knocking things back!" or "You need to slot KB->KD in your attacks!" a whole lot. 🤷‍♂️
  3. I...would actually dig hooking up a dance dance revolution pad to my pc and challenging Recluse to a dance off.
  4. If an option you can select in the mission select window? Sure. You do you. Anyone wanting that extra challenge could have it. Enforced on everyone regardless? No. You'd be punishing soloers and casual players because you're bored. Trying to balance that for soloers sounds like it wouldn't be worth the time and effort.
  5. Or it sounds cool to them. I remember taking hover, air superiority and fly on my MA/Invul Scrapper back in beta and thinking it was awesome and fit my character idea. Forehead slappingly bad now but to a newcomer it might not click. As others have said, most people playing don't visit the site or discord and know nada about builds beyond what sounds cool.
  6. The TFs were designed in the dark ages (of Camelot..tee hee) and meant to keep people on as much as possible to wring that sweet sweet subscription fee from them each month. Some got better but Synapse, Citadel and Numina definitely show their age. IF I do a Synapse, it's when I'm bored, need/want the badge, have time to kill and am in the mood. Lots of qualifiers that really only Citadel also comes with. (A decent Numina team can wipe those street sweeps fast by splitting up)
  7. *Mission doors all over the place *Loooooong traveling unless you're lucky to get people with team transport (40/60 usually) *So. Many. Samey. Maps. *Everything High_Beam just said Add that together and insert at least a couple "bad" players and their negatives increase 10 fold. I've done Yinns that had the worst players, but it's fast and can be bulled through. Synapse bulls back.
  8. Or the lack of a sure sign of altitis. 😁 I think my highest vet level is in the 30s at best. But I have a loooot in vet level 5-10ish. I view vet levels like badges: cool but not a qualifier.
  9. There a badge for that? 😝
  10. The Freakloks. They'll scavenge the debris and upgrade themselves with it.
  11. Last seen outside City Hall in Atlas Park:
  12. I believe you mean "Well blow me down! Ah gah gah gah gah gah!".
  13. Willy Wheeler. Everyone thinks he's just stupid, but I ain't buying it.
  14. Funny you say that...
  15. So, I'm at work with nada to do and booooooorrrrrrred. I've settled into looking at the old COH Freedom site that's backed up on the interwebs and while reading about the Trolls (yes, I am b.o.r.e.d.) I noticed that their description has reference to females in the ranks of the Trolls. We've seen other villain groups get with the times, could it be time for some lady Trolls?
  16. Behind the bar, you say? Isaac approves!
  17. According to the wiki, yes, you can indeed get that badge at the Winter Forest. It doesn't specify which of those shops will do it, but keep an eye out over/under your hp/stamina bar for that little icon that says you're in a day job spot. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Winter_Forest
  18. Since he's a Willpower Brute, I think this fits him (especially after taking an alpha strike).
